Now, a new data from analysts at Consumer Intelligence Research Partners has revealed that the company has managed to retain its high loyalty rate for iPhones.</p>
<p>The report stated that 90 percent of all iPhone buyers remain with the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s smartphones. CIRP&#8217;s data reveals that the company account for nearly half of all smartphone sales in the US in the past three years. On the other hand, South Korea&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a> managed to capture just a little more than half of Android sales in the same region. The report added that Apple accounts for 43 percent of US smartphone sales while Samsung came in at 31 percent and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LG</a> at 9 percent in the last three years.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-415887 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display.jpeg?x23692" alt="Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max Display" width="1600" height="947" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display.jpeg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-300x178.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-768x455.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-1024x606.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-696x412.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-1068x632.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-710x420.jpeg 710w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>But in terms of loyalty, Apple dominated the market with the 90 percent of iPhone users remaining with the brand. Meanwhile, Android smartphone brands do not rank just as high, with customers shifting to other brands as moving in the Android ecosystem is easier. Despite this, the overall loyalty for Android in general was also about 90 percent. So the data isn&#8217;t indicative of which ecosystem is more dominant or more popular.</p>

<p>According to the <a href="https://www.sellcell.com/blog/cell-phone-brand-loyalty-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>SellCell</em> </a>survey (Via <a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/iphone-loyalty-vs-android-survey-1209104/?utm_source=feedly&amp;utm_medium=webfeeds" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AndroidAuthority</em></a>), iPhone loyalty has hit a new peak with an all time of 91.9 percent willingness of iPhone users to choose the same brand again when purchasing a new handset. On the other hand, the best performers from the Android side was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a>&#8216;s userbase. Although, the South Korean smartphone maker&#8217;s loyalty fell from 86.7 percent in 2019 to just 74 percent this year.</p>
<p>Furthermore, it gets worse for other brands as loyalty for brand further drops for companies like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Google</a>, with only 65.2 percent of Pixel users likely to buy a new device from the same lineup. Similarly, only 37.4 percent and 29 percent of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LG</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Motorola</a> users respectively intend to stay with their current smartphone brand. As per the survey, the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s recent privacy push might have played a part in this, as about 52.9 percent of people shifting away from Samsung might opt for an iPhone in the future.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-369440 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05.jpg?x23692" alt="Apple" width="2048" height="1152" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/s21-vs-mi-11-05-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></p>
<p>This arrives amid consumers becoming more aware and sensitive towards data privacy and data tracking. The survey found that 31.5 percent of all people converting to another brand stated that privacy was the primary reason for their shift in loyalty as users were concerned regarding their devices tracking them and were willing to switch brands that promised more protection and data security.</p>

According to the Buyer Insights Survey 2020, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a> is expected to see more growth in the coming months, which will likely affect its rival brands like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-327876 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363.png?x23692" alt="Samsung" width="1270" height="668" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363.png 1270w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-300x158.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-768x404.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-1024x539.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-696x366.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-1068x562.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-363-799x420.png 799w" sizes="(max-width: 1270px) 100vw, 1270px" /></p>
<p>In the survey, it was found that the South Korean tech giant will overtake Xiaomi as the smartphone brands customers are likely to choose for their next handset upgrade in the next 1 or 2 years. In other words, Samsung might be the more popular choice for a new smartphone a person would want to move over to. Looking at the statistics provided, the graph shows the percentage of people that would like to buy either Samsung or Xiaomi as their next device in both 2019 and 2020.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-327875" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361.png?x23692" alt="" width="965" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361.png 965w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361-300x156.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361-768x399.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361-696x361.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-361-809x420.png 809w" sizes="(max-width: 965px) 100vw, 965px" /></p>
<p>Samsung saw an increase from 17 percent in 2019 to 24 percent in 2020, while Xiaomi saw a decrease from 24 percent in 2019 to 20 percent in 2020. Thus, the trend is indicative of a complete switch in positions in the market. Similarly, the survey also included the criteria of brand loyalty or sticking by your favorite brand with your next upgrade. Here again, Xiaomi saw a decrease, down from 56 percent in 2019 to 51 percent in 2020. On the other hand, Samsung saw a rise from 53 percent in 2019 to 59 percent in 2020.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/17/huawei-captured-90-of-china-premium-smartphone-segment-q1-2020-apple-led-globally/">Huawei captured 90% of China’s premium smartphone segment in Q1 2020 while Apple led globally</a></strong></h6>
<p>The survey also talked about the overall preference of the customer, which has Samsung see a rise of 6.6 percent from 2019 over 2020, while Xiaomi saw a decline of 4.4 percent during the same period. Notably, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme</a> has seen impressive growth of 10.4 percent in this time with various factors weighing in. Analyzing the graph, Xiaomi&#8217;s slow adoption of features like punch hole display and higher fast charging rates in their mid range offerings might have been the reason for the decline.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-327874" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360.png?x23692" alt="Samsung" width="1144" height="516" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360.png 1144w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-300x135.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-768x346.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-1024x462.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-696x314.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-1068x482.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screenshot-360-931x420.png 931w" sizes="(max-width: 1144px) 100vw, 1144px" /></p>
<p>Brands like Realme have become a notable figure in the Indian smartphone market, thanks to its lucrative pricing and up to date specs and features. Despite these figures being highly detailed, one must keep in mind other important aspects as well. Firstly, the survey is done not to include the entire market, so they might not be completely accurate. And secondly, the smartphone market is highly volatile and dynamic, with changes in position and popularity seemingly shifting in mere days. So while the data depicts a certain image now, the same might not hold true in the months that follow. Although, the trend that shows an increase in competition in the market will only benefit the consumer at the end of the day.</p>

<p>The survey is said to represent data collected from over 15,000 respondents and OnePlus is shown to have the most loyal brand followers. 67 per cent of its current users say they’ll stick to the same brand when they upgrade next. Despite the obvious shift from its &#8220;cheap flagship&#8221; posture with the OnePlus 8 series, the brand still remains popular. OnePlus has built a solid reputation over the years thus attracting a loyal fanbase. The regularly updated OxygenOS is yet another thing that has made a number of fans say loyal to the brand. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-326241" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020.jpg?x23692" alt="" width="1200" height="630" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Loyalty-split-Smartphone-Buyer-Insights-Survey-2020-800x420.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>OnePlus is followed by Apple with 62% loyal fan base India. Of course, if this survey is replicated in the US, Apple will sweep all categories but in India, it has an impressive number of loyal followers. 62% of Apple fans say they will upgrade to another iPhone next.</p>
<p>Samsung is in third place with 59% of its users in India indcating that they want a new phone from the same brand. At the fourth spot is Realme with 56% of uses electing to stick with their Realme phones. Xiaomi completes the top five 51% of respondents who use the Mi brand, excluding Poco indicating their willingness to upgrade to a new Xiaomi phone.</p>
