After weeks of rumors, the Civi 5 Pro was finally confirmed to drop with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC under the hood. This chip offers improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance. A massive 6,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 67W wired fast charging.

To keep these beefy specs cooled, Xiaomi is packing the Civi 5 Pro with a dedicated heat dissipation system. On the front, the budget flagship features a 6.55-inch micro curved OLED display with ultra narrow bezels. We already know that the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will arrive in multiple color options, namely purple, pink, white, and black variants. But what really impresses is the design. The company makes its Civi lineup with an attractive design, and the Civi 5 Pro is no different.

Despite the large battery capacity, the Civi 5 Pro measures a slim 7.45mm in thickness. The company is set to debut the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro sometime later this month. Xiaomi’s Civi series is a popular lineup of smartphones with premium designs and high end specs. Following the brand’s philosophy, they also arrive with aggressive price tags. The company is now working on the new Civi 5 Pro, which has been spotted in certifications, leaks, and teasers over the last couple of weeks. So here’s a detailed roundup so you know what to expect.

Design and Display

Teaser posters have revealed the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro in multiple color options, namely purple, beige, white, and black variants. The device appears to have a flat panel on the rear, with curves on all four corners. The back has a large circular camera island with three image sensors. Xiaomi places an emphasis on design with the Civi lineup, so we can expect a slim, light, and sleek profile.

On the front, the device is expected to sport a 6.55-inch quad curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, high refresh rate, and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint screen.

Hardware

The Civi 5 Pro features some powerful hardware. A recent GeekBench listing confirmed that it is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, which has at least one model with 16GB of RAM. It also confirmed to launch with the Android 15 OS out of the box that likely has a HyperOS skin on top.

While initial rumors had hinted at a sizeable 5,000mAh battery, another report claims that the battery has a much larger 6,000mAh+ capacity. The 3C certification sighting from back in March revealed 67W wired fast charging support as well.

Camera

For photography, the rear has a 50MP triple camera setup with the main sensor having a f/1.63 aperture, while the ultra wide has an f/2.2 aperture with a 15mm focal length. The third shooter is a telephoto camera with a 60mm focal length. On the front, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro packs another 50MP sensor for selfies and video calls. But similar to the flagship Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the Civi 5 Pro is getting Leica optics.

The latest teaser showcases the cameras with LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:6.3-2.2/15-60 ASPH. The telephoto shooter is a Leica floating telephoto lens, which borrows from the Xiaomi 15 again. Xiaomi is claiming an upgrade in the image sensors, allowing for improved resolution and 25 percent improvement in photosensitivity thanks to the new “ultra-transparent nano-prism”. This translates to improved low light camera performance.

Launch timeline

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch timeline of the Civi 5 Pro. Unfortunately, the exact release date is still at large, we do know that it will be held later this month. There are rumors that the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will make its debut in China on 22nd May 2025.

Last week, the Civi 5 Pro had its key specs leaked with the Snapdragon 8s Elite SoC, big 5,000mAh battery pack, and more. Now we have more details from known tipster Smart Pikachu. The Chinese brand is expected to unveil the Civi 5 Pro with a premium glass body with a metal frame. Similar to the Civi 4 Pro, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro may also offer a circular camera module in the upper left corner, which will house a portrait telephoto shooter.

Meanwhile, the front is expected to house dual cameras on the front just like its predecessor. The tipster claims that Xiaomi will launch the Civi 5 Pro for a price tag of around 3,000 Yuan (roughly 411 US Dollars). Based on what we know so far, this model is a flagship killer smartphone, which might be the first to feature the Snapdragon 8s Elite processor.

We can expect the smartphone to launch with a sleek design in multiple color options. Apart from this, the company would likely continue the Leica optimizations for the camera system. Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro & Redmi K80 Ultra Leak

The latest information arrives from the known tipster Smart Pikachu (Via TechOutlook). In the Weibo post, the Redmi K80 Ultra and the Xiaom Civi 5 Pro will house an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. Apparently, the Chinese tech giant is currently testing this sensor for the Civi 5 Pro and K80 Ultra models. So you’re getting a better sensor for fingerprint security over the predecessors, which are the Civi 4 and K70 series.

Back in October, we covered a list of reasons why the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is better for smartphone security. These sensors can create 3D images of your fingerprints, over the 2D mapping of optical scanners. These are also faster and can read through wet, oily, or dirty fingers as well. Recently, a bunch of smartphones that are not from the ultra premium segment have started featuring this technology, so it won’t be surprising that the Civi 5 Pro and K80 Ultra also ship with this feature.
