<p>Cloud gaming has rapidly evolved into one of the most accessible ways to play your favorite titles, letting you stream high-end games without owning a powerful PC or console. Unlike the more traditional means, where you have dedicated hardware for gaming, cloud platforms rely on remote servers that handle the heavy lifting. So here&#8217;s a details look at some of the major online game streaming services available globally.</p>

<h3>Xbox Cloud Gaming</h3>

<p>Microsoft&#8217;s Xbox Cloud Gaming service is one of the most widely recognized and available cloud gaming platforms worldwide. This service is a part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which basically brings access to hundreds of titles, including first-party releases, indie hits, and partner games. Cloud-enabled titles can be played instantly across Android smartphones, tablets, Windows PCs, and even smart TVs via the Xbox app.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="840" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service.png?x10805" alt="Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming Service" class="wp-image-714914" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service.png 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service-300x214.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service-768x549.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service-696x497.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service-588x420.png 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Xbox-Cloud-Gaming-Service-100x70.png 100w" sizes="(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px" /><figcaption>Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming Service</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Another highlight is cross-progression: your saves sync seamlessly across console, PC, and mobile. Xbox Cloud Gaming also supports Bluetooth controllers and even touchscreen controls for select games. Expansion to include more regions, with the <a href="http://Another highlight is cross-progression: your saves sync seamlessly across console, PC, and mobile. <h3>Nvidia GeForce Now</h3>

<p>If you prefer PC gaming, GeForce Now is the most powerful cloud platform currently available. Instead of offering its own library, it lets you stream games you already own from storefronts like Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect. The biggest advantage here is raw performance. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1024x538.jpg?x10805" alt="Nvidia" class="wp-image-543593" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-800x420.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nvidia GeForce Now</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>GeForce Now brings access to streaming games at up to 4K/120fps, depending on your subscription tier which delivers high end desktop PC class performance. Supported on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS (via browser), smart TVs, and some Chromebooks, GeForce Now focuses on serious gamers who want visual fidelity and responsiveness without maintaining a high-end PC.</p>

<h3>Amazon Luna</h3>

<p>Amazon’s Luna is another globally recognized platform and uses a subscription-based system with “channels,” letting you pick from categories like family games, retro titles, or Ubisoft’s catalog. Luna integrates tightly with Amazon Prime, so Prime members get access to a rotating library of free games every month.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="546" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-1024x546.png?x10805" alt="Amazon Luna Cloud Gaming" class="wp-image-446681" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-1024x546.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-768x410.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-696x371.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-1068x570.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-788x420.png 788w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna.png 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Amazon Luna</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Its biggest draw is device compatibility: Luna works on Fire TV devices, PCs, Macs, Android phones, iPhones, and even through web browsers. With strong controller support and a growing line-up, Luna remains a user-friendly cloud platform with emphasis on accessibility.</p>

<h3>PlayStation Plus Premium Brings Cloud Streaming</h3>

<p>Cloud streaming is available worldwide through PlayStation Plus Premium, giving players access to PS3, PS4, and select remastered PS2 games via the cloud. Sony recently expanded support for PS5 game streaming as well, offering higher resolution and lower latency.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Playstation Portal" class="wp-image-596293" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Playstation-Portal.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>PlayStation Portal</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>While limited compared to Xbox and GeForce Now, PlayStation’s service is perfect for fans of exclusive series like God of War, Spider-Man, The Last of Us, and Uncharted. So you get the convenience of streaming legendary games from major franchises. </p>

<h3>Shadow PC</h3>

<p>Shadow PC is slightly different from other cloud gaming services: instead of streaming only games, it streams an entire high-end Windows PC. If you&#8217;re a gaming enthusiast, you know that opens the door to a wide range of games. One can install any games they want, including titles they already own. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Global Game Streaming Service" class="wp-image-716540" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Shadow-PC-Cloud-gaming.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Shadow PC Cloud gaming</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>This makes it ideal for gamers, creators, or even professionals who need high end hardware on demand. With stable internet, Shadow streaming service can deliver impressive performance even for heavy PC titles. Although, it is a little more expensive than traditional cloud gaming platforms.</p>

<p>Nvidia has just announced that it will be expanding its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/06/12/nvidia-geforce-now-xbox-games/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GeForce Now</a> service to India soon. The company&#8217;s cloud gaming will be powered by up to an RTX 5080 GPU, bringing high end gaming performance for a subscription. </p>

<h2>Nvidia GeForce Now India Launch Confirmed</h2>

<p>Nvidia has confirmed its partnership with Brothers Picture to help bring GeForce Now to the region. To recall, this service is already available in certain other markets and is finally expanding to India as well. The tech giant has revealed some of the upcoming lineup of AAA games that will be powered by GeForce Now, which includes <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops </em>7. Apart from this, it has confirmed that more than 4,500 other titles will also be supported.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1024x538.jpg?x10805" alt="Nvidia" class="wp-image-543593" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1-800x420.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/geforce-now-og-no-text-1200x630-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nvidia GeForce Now</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>For those unaware, cloud gaming basically eliminates the need for a powerful gaming PC to enjoy high fidelity games. So even gamers on a budget laptop or weaker PCs can enjoy next gen titles with the help of an internet connection. After getting the subscription, Nvidia uses Indian data centers and the latest RTX powered systems for high resolution gaming, up to 4K resolution and 240fps. There will be multiple tiers for this subscription, which includes a free model with ad support and the performance and Ultimate plans. </p>

<p>The brand recommends a minimum connection speed of 25Mbps to enjoy the Ultimate tier of GeForce Now. Having a fiber optic connection and over 100Mbps broadband speeds will also help lower latency and make the experience more seamless by reducing latency. Mobile gaming is still dominant in India owing to its accessibility. But the subscription service could make PC gaming more affordable. Nvidia aims on rolling out the cloud gaming subscription in November 2025.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> is revolutionizing mobile gaming with the full launch of its mobile cloud gaming service, now available on all Galaxy devices in North America. Designed to eliminate the need for downloads, long wait times, and cumbersome onboarding processes, the service promises to make mobile gaming more accessible for players while offering publishers a highly efficient way to reach users. </p>

<p>We&#8217;ve <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/17/samsung-phone-gaming-performance/">previously discussed why</a> Galaxy devices are not the best when it comes to gaming. However, with this latest development, Galaxy users can look forward to a reasonably improved gaming experience.</p>

<h2>Samsung bringing a significant shift in mobile gaming</h2>

<p>After debuting as an open beta last year, Samsung mobile cloud gaming platform is now commercially available. It allows players to instantly access Android-native games through the Galaxy Store without requiring downloads or account setups. The service also minimizes latency, enabling a seamless gaming experience across all Galaxy devices.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="744" height="469" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-A16-Samsung-1.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-662038" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-A16-Samsung-1.png 744w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-A16-Samsung-1-300x189.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-A16-Samsung-1-696x439.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-A16-Samsung-1-666x420.png 666w" sizes="(max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px" /></figure></div>

<p>This marks a significant shift in mobile gaming. While other forms of entertainment, such as music and video, are dominated by streaming, mobile gaming has largely remained download-based. Samsung aims to change this by removing the barriers to entry, such as complex installations and long wait times.</p>

<p>The platform provides an immediate, click-to-play experience that not only benefits gamers but also offers game publishers a more efficient model for user acquisition. By streamlining the gaming experience, Samsung is setting the stage for mobile gaming to evolve in line with modern consumer expectations.</p>

<h2>Benefits for gamers and publishers</h2>

<p>For publishers, <a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwj55sq6pfyJAxVIzTgGHaayE4MQFnoECBEQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gizmochina.com%2F2023%2F10%2F03%2Fsamsung-cloud-gaming%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw1BSi0VHqn77TKSD-2phpXa&amp;opi=89978449">Samsung’s mobile cloud gaming</a> service addresses a major challenge: low conversion rates in the traditional game advertising model. Currently, only 5% of users who click on a game ad proceed to install and play the game, largely due to the lengthy onboarding process. Samsung’s platform eliminates this hurdle, allowing players to jump directly into gameplay from an ad.</p>

<p>During the beta phase, this approach boosted conversion rates to 50%—a tenfold improvement over the industry average. Additionally, monthly active users of the platform in the U.S. and Canada grew by 149% year-over-year, highlighting its appeal.</p>

<p>Samsung’s platform also supports Android native APKs, integrates seamlessly with existing in-game monetization models, and includes cloud-based attribution solutions with major mobile measurement partners (MMPs). These features make it easier for publishers to incorporate the service into their operations without disrupting current workflows.</p>

By doing so, the company appeals to a broad user base and ensures its resilience even if things go awry in a particular sector. However, that&#8217;s not the end of the company&#8217;s future plans. Reports suggest that Samsung will be launching its game streaming service out of beta this week. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Samsung to Launch Cloud Gaming Service for Galaxy Phones This Week</strong></h2>

<p>If you want to play modern AAA games, the solution is pretty straightforward. Simply prepare your budget and purchase a console or PC, and you&#8217;ll be able to play your desired game at high settings and enjoy your hobby. However, this can be quite expensive, and it might be hard for you to afford it. So, what&#8217;s the alternative? The answer is cloud gaming. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-1024x538.jpg?x10805" alt="samsung Cloud gaming" class="wp-image-571922" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-1536x806.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming-800x420.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/samsung-cloud-gaming.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Cloud gaming, or game streaming, allows users to play video games hosted on remote servers, streaming them directly to devices like TVs, phones, or computers. This means you don&#8217;t have to download or install games on your device, and you can play them even if your device isn&#8217;t equipped to run them on its own. </p>

<p>Although it&#8217;s still in its early stages, this method is gradually gaining popularity. Services like Nvidia&#8217;s GeForce Now, Amazon Luna and Microsoft&#8217;s XCloud are increasingly being used by users on a tight budget. For instance, during the pandemic, even though I didn&#8217;t have any gaming equipment, I had the opportunity to play high-quality graphic games like Witcher 3 on my 2010-era laptop using GeForce Now. </p>

<p>Now, Samsung is reportedly planning to officially introduce cloud gaming within the Samsung Game Launcher on Galaxy phones at its developer conference on October 5th. Although the performance of smartphones improves with almost every new model, mobile games today still often require relatively &#8220;simple&#8221; and low graphics. Yet, players want to see games of a quality close to PC/console games on their $1000 devices. </p>

<p>Due to the current business model and revenue strategies, it&#8217;s not practical to develop modern games solely for a few top-tier devices. This is where Samsung&#8217;s cloud gaming service steps in. The company is trying to bridge the gap by offering a way to play these modern games, making their product more appealing. Samsung has been experimenting with cloud gaming on its Galaxy phones for a while. </p>

<p>They are also reportedly in discussions with major game publishers to introduce their games to the platform. Moreover, Samsung has stated that they will charge a smaller service fee than other cloud gaming providers, potentially making it more enticing for game developers.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, we don&#8217;t have much information about the upcoming service beyond what we&#8217;ve just mentioned. However, a word of caution for all Galaxy phone users: entering the cloud gaming market will not be easy for Samsung. For instance, the most recent company that ventured into this field with high enthusiasm was Google. They <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/16/google-stadia-is-now-available-for-ios-devices-in-beta/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">announced a service named Stadia in 2019 and launched it in 2020</a>. Regrettably, due to continuous losses, they shut down Stadia in 2022. Sadly, a similar fate might await Samsung.</p>

<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/cloud-gaming">Cloud gaming</a> has been picking up ever since Internet speeds became higher worldwide. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/category/sony">Sony</a>, a key player in the cloud gaming market, is giving <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-plus">PS Plus</a> Premium subscribers something big: a cloud streaming beta with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/4k">4K</a> resolution. They <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/25/playstation-sony-project-q-game-streaming/">talked about this in June,</a> and now it&#8217;s here. Players can now use this feature for PS Plus games, some game trials, and a few digital <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-5">PS5</a> games they have. This means no more waiting forever for downloads and saving some space on your console.</p>

<h3>In contrast, Xbox Cloud Gaming is limited to 1080p </h3>

<p>A leaked PlayStation email said, “We’re testing PS5 cloud streaming, and your feedback is important.” Right now, only some people got invited to try it out using special codes. The final version might be a bit different from what they&#8217;re testing.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Playstation 5" class="wp-image-556500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/scalpers-struggling-sell-playstation-5-consoles-supplies-3.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>A gamer, ArashiGames, tried out God of War: Ragnarok in 4K and said it worked well. He also mentioned a new section in the PS+ menu for streaming PS5 games. You just pick the game, and it starts in seconds. Some other games you can stream include Horizon Forbidden West, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/fortnite">Fortnite</a>, Destiny 2, and Death Stranding.</p>

<p>This 4K streaming could make Sony more popular than <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xbox-cloud-gaming">Xbox Cloud Gaming</a>, which only goes up to 1080p. Sony&#8217;s also got another thing coming: the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/30/sony-project-q-battery-life-leak/"> &#8220;Project Q&#8221; handheld device.</a> It&#8217;s got a screen that&#8217;s 8 inches and streams in 1080p. It mostly streams games from your console, but might also support this new cloud streaming.</p>

<p>Only PS Plus Premium members, who pay $18 each month, can use this new streaming. They&#8217;ve had game streaming before for <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-4">PS4</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-3">PS3</a>, and some old-school games. You can play these games on a PS5, PS4, or computer. It looks like Sony&#8217;s making some smart moves in the gaming world.</p>

<p>Microsoft has been in the news lately, since the company is trying to buy <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/activision-blizzard">Activision Blizzard</a> &#8211; a move that&#8217;s not being received well by other companies such as Sony. Sony previously stated that Call of Duty will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/09/call-of-duty-microsoft-activision-playstation/">ruined for PlayStation users </a>if the deal goes through. In spite of that, Microsoft is continuing to put in a lot of effort to persuade antitrust regulators that its acquisition of Activision Blizzard won&#8217;t cause harm to competition in the gaming industry. In an effort to demonstrate to EU, UK, and US regulators that it won&#8217;t use the deal to squeeze out competitors and stifle competition, Microsoft has entered into a 10-year agreement with Boosteroid, a cloud gaming provider, to stream Activision&#8217;s PC titles if the deal goes through.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="680" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-1024x680.jpg?x10805" alt="Microsoft" class="wp-image-522357" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-768x510.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-1536x1020.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-2048x1360.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-696x462.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-1068x709.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-1920x1275.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/matthew-manuel-BhLSBX-0rnM-unsplash1-632x420.jpg 632w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Boosteroid is currently the biggest independent cloud-gaming service in the world. It supports multi-device streaming access and requires the purchase of paid games on other platforms. Its library includes popular games such as <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/fortnite">Fortnite</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/gta-5">Grand Theft Auto V</a>, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Activision&#8217;s <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/call-of-duty-warzone">Call of Duty: Warzone</a>. It can stream games in web browsers and offers native apps for <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/windows">Windows</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/macOS">macOS</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a>, Android TV, and Linux.</p>

<p>This latest move is part of Microsoft&#8217;s ongoing efforts to relieve regulatory concerns and follows the company&#8217;s 10-year agreements with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/nintendo">Nintendo</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/nvidia">Nvidia</a> to bring the Call of Duty franchise to platforms such as the Switch and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/geforce-now">GeForce Now</a>. Microsoft has also offered Sony a similar agreement for <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation">PlayStation</a> licensing, but this offer has not yet been accepted. Microsoft has committed to supporting Steam availability at the same time as <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xbox">Xbox</a>, and as mentioned previously, Sony expressed its concerns about the deal earlier this month.</p>

<p>According to Microsoft President Brad Smith, the reason Microsoft wants to buy Activision Blizzard is to round out their titles to have a fuller, more diverse library. They are looking to include more mobile titles where they don’t have a strong presence, and build a stronger gaming business.</p>

<p>The European Commission has not yet publicly stated whether it is satisfied with Microsoft&#8217;s commitments or not, but it has until April 25th to decide. The UK regulators&#8217; decision is expected the following day. Deals like the Boosteroid one are a key part of Microsoft&#8217;s fight to avoid missing out on Activision&#8217;s publishing unit, which it has indicated it has no interest in doing.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/razer">Razer</a>, a company known for making gaming products, has now launched its new handheld gaming device at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023), dubbed Razer Edge.</p>

<p>The device is essentially a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tablet">tablet</a> with a detachable Razer Kishi V2 Pro controller and when clubbed together, it offers a compact, Switch-like gaming handheld device that can play Android and cloud-based games.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Razer Edge" class="wp-image-507058" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge-746x420.jpeg 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Razer-Edge.jpeg 1146w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Razer Edge</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Razer Edge features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/02/qualcomm-snapdragon-g3x-gen-1-gaming-platform-announced/">Snapdragon G3X Gen 1</a> processor, which is built for gaming purposes and promises active cooling during prolonged game sessions.</p>

<p>It is currently the only device in the market to come powered by this new chipset. The device packs 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s a 5-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">camera sensor</a> on the front side of the device with 1080p support at 60fps. It also supports 2-way speakers with two digital microphones and THX Spatial Audio.</p>

<p>On the software front, the device runs the Android 12L operating system, offering access to millions of apps and games from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> Play Store. As the handheld device is focused on cloud gaming, it comes pre-installed with launchers for Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Steam Link, and more.</p>

<p>The device comes in two models &#8212; Razer Edge (Wi-Fi) and Razer Edge 5G. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wi-fi">Wi-Fi</a> model, priced at $399.99, will be exclusively available for purchase in the US through Razer.com and RazerStore locations. On the other hand, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G model</a>, priced at $599.99, will be exclusively available through Verizon. The device is all set to go on sale in the United States from 26th January.</p>

<p>Smartphone GPUs are getting better and better day, and this leads to the development of more comprehensive games with better graphics. However, the touch controls may not be sufficient or satisfactory for some games. Luckily, One of the best mobile gamepads you can buy is finally available with Android phones. The Android version of Backbone One finally goes on sale today. </p>

<h3>The Backbone One now works with Android phones</h3>

<p>The Backbone One went on sale to be compatible with iPhones in July, but now it&#8217;s available for Android phones. Starting today, you can order the Backbone One for Android from the company’s website or some selected retailers for $99.99. Gamepad connects to your phone via a USB-C connection (unlike some controllers that require a Bluetooth connection), and its size can be adjustable. The gamepad also offers a headphone jack, like its iOS version.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="The Backbone One
" class="wp-image-496436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/backbone-one-for-andorid-announced-1.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>The Backbone One mobile gamepad<br></figcaption></figure>

<p>The Backbone One is compatible with &#8220;most&#8221; Android phones, but you&#8217;ll probably need to remove your phone from its case to make sure it fits. Thanks to the asymmetrical stick and standard A, B, X and Y button layout, it&#8217;s very similar to the Xbox&#8217;s controller. Especially if you are into Cloud gaming, you will not have any difficulty playing PC games. As you know, the iOS version of the controller also has a PlayStation-compatible model.</p>

<p>The version with the button system (cross, circle, triangle and square) similar to the DualShock was developed for those using the PlayStation Remote Play feature. Unfortunately, the PlayStation version of the controller for Android phones isn’t listed yet. Still, Backbone has an exclusive partnership agreement with Sony, and a USB-C powered PlayStation variant is currently developing; however, the launch date is currently unknown.</p>

Now, it has been officially launched in the United States.</p>
<p>The cloud gaming service has formally launched in the mainland US and is available for users of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a>, iOS, Chrome OS, macOS, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows">Windows</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-446681 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna.png?x10805" alt="Amazon Luna Cloud Gaming" width="1500" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna.png 1500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-768x410.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-1024x546.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-696x371.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-1068x570.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Amazon-Luna-788x420.png 788w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p>
<p>The Luna+ service, which is a core offering from the company, is priced at $10 per month and gives access to more than 100 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/games">games</a>. There are also kid-friendly Family Channel and Ubisoft+ Channels costing $6 and $18 per month respectively.</p>
<p>However, those who subscribe to the service in the month of March will get the Luna+ service for a discounted price of $6 per month and the Family channel for $3 a month. Those who are already subscribed to the service will have their current pricing locked.</p>
<p>Unlike other cloud gaming services like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-stadia">Google Stadia</a> where users can purchase individual games for playing, the Amazon Luna works differently as users have to subscribe to channels that come with their own bundles of games.</p>
<p>Apart from the Luna+ and Ubisoft+ channels, the company is also offering Prime Gaming Channel that offers Amazon Prime members a selection of free games to play. There&#8217;s also a Retro Channel with classic games. The company also has a Jackbox Games Channel and is debuting a new “Luna Couch” feature that lets other people join in playing even if they don’t subscribe to Luna themselves. Both the Retro Channel and Jackbox Games Channel have been priced at $4.99 per month.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amazon">Amazon</a> is also debuting a new feature for Luna in which it is leveraging Twitch by adding native support for one-click broadcasting. Just by a simple press of a button on Luna, users can instantly live stream the game with a camera feed overlay.</p>

<p>Cloud gaming is steadily growing in popularity especially since there are now big players such as Xbox&#8217;s <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xcloud">xCloud</a>, Google&#8217;s <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/stadia">Stadia</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/nvidia">NVIDIA</a> GeForce Now, and Amazon&#8217;s <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/luna">Luna</a> in the new entertainment category. Samsung is now ready to join the fray and it is starting with its Tizen-powered smart TVs.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-421496" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform.png?x10805" alt="Samsung Cloud Game Platform" width="917" height="512" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform.png 917w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform-768x429.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform-696x389.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Samsung-Cloud-Game-Platform-752x420.png 752w" sizes="(max-width: 917px) 100vw, 917px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, Samsung has not revealed the details of its cloud gaming platform, so we don&#8217;t know how it will work and what types of games will be available on the service. However, Samsung did reveal some other plans for Tizen TVs:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Video communication</strong> &#8211; Samsung says a partnership with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> will allow users to enjoy better video calling on TVs via AI-enabled focus and zoom features.</li>
<li><strong>Samsung Health</strong> &#8211; Smart TVs with a webcam will be able to analyze a user&#8217;s movement during a workout and provide real-time feedback.</li>
<li><strong>HDR10+ for realistic gaming</strong> &#8211; Tizen TVs will also feature HDR10+ with automated settings for low-latency and HDR calibration.</li>
</ul>
<p>Samsung says it will also launch “Tizen for Business”, a service that will support interactive e-boards in schools and kiosks as well as displays in restaurants, airports, and train stations. Businesses will be able to monitor these displays in real-time and easily apply settings to multiple devices with a simple touch.</p>
<p><strong>Non-Samsung Tizen TVs are coming</strong></p>
<p>Samsung also revealed its plans to license Tizen to other TV manufacturers through what it calls “Tizen TV Platform Licensing”. It said manufacturers that want to launch a premium TV platform like Tizen can do so quickly and with minimal cost. The decision to license Tizen for TVs to other manufacturers will not only help the manufacturers but also help Tizen increase its popularity.</p>

Today, the tech giant announced Stadia, a cloud gaming service which is not only for gamers but also for those who like to watch others play and also those who build games.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-241896" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia.png?x10805" alt="Google Stadia" width="651" height="384" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia.png 651w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia-300x177.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px" /></p>
<p>Stadia is a cloud gaming service that doesn&#8217;t require you to purchase new hardware. All you need is the hardware you already have such as tablets and phones (Pixel), Chromecast-enabled TV, or the Chrome browser on your PC (laptop or desktop). You also don&#8217;t need to download the game you wish to play.</p>
<p>At the event, Google demonstrated how Stadia works using a variety of devices including a desktop PC with basic specs. Not only did the games play seamlessly on all of these devices, but you can also start playing on one device and switch to another.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-241895" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia-all-screens.png?x10805" alt="Google Stadia" width="824" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia-all-screens.png 824w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia-all-screens-300x165.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Google-Stadia-all-screens-768x422.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 824px) 100vw, 824px" /></p>
<p>Stadia works with your existing controllers. It will even work with your keyboard or mouse. Or you could just purchase Google&#8217;s own Stadia Controller which doesn&#8217;t look very different from the controllers you are used to, though it does have some unique features of its own.</p>
<p>The Stadia Controller connects via Wi-Fi which should make switching from one device to the other easier. It has the usual XYAB action buttons, dual joysticks, D-pad, and shoulder buttons. It also has a Google Assistant button and a capture button that allows you live-stream your game to YouTube. The controller will come in three colors but Google didn&#8217;t reveal its price.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-241894" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Controllers-b.png?x10805" alt="Stadia Controller" width="822" height="445" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Controllers-b.png 822w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Controllers-b-300x162.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Controllers-b-768x416.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px" /></p>
<p>You might be wondering how Stadia will be able to run the games on its platform. All the work is handled by Google&#8217;s data centers which pack a lot of power. Google shared the specs of the data centers and the GPU is much more powerful than that of the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro. Stadia will be able to stream at 1080p and 4K at 60fps when it launches but in the future, it will also support streaming in 8K and at up to 120fps. It will also support cross-platform play.</p>
<p>Stadia isn&#8217;t just for gamers but also for game developers. There are tools available for developers that will make it easy for developers to bring their design styles to games made for the platform. All developers have to do is drop an image with the preferred style and a machine learning tool applies the style all through.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-241897" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Data-center.png?x10805" alt="Stadia Data center" width="822" height="369" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Data-center.png 822w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Data-center-300x135.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-Data-center-768x345.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-241893" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-vs-existing-consoles.png?x10805" alt="Stadia vs existing consoles" width="820" height="374" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-vs-existing-consoles.png 820w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-vs-existing-consoles-300x137.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Stadia-vs-existing-consoles-768x350.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px" /></p>
<p>There is also State Share for YouTube creators which allows them to share exact links to specifc parts of a game. Players will be able to call up the Google Assistant to get walkthroughs for games other players have completed. There is also a feature called Crowd Play which will let you play multiplayer games against your favorite content creators.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/15/google-foldable-phone-patent-surfaces-online-see-details/">Google Foldable Phone Patent Surfaces Online; See Details</a><span id="more-241889"></span></p>
<p>Google will create its own game studio which is called Stadia Games and Entertainment and will also partner with others to develop content for the platform. Stadia will launch later this year first in the US, and then Canada, UK, and Europe. More details will be revealed at Google I/O in May.</p>
