On February 22, OPPO kickstarted the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta program for five smartphones. At the same time, the company had also started seeding stable update for four devices. These phones include OPPO Reno5 K 5G, OPPO K9 5G, OPPO A93 5G, and OPPO A72 5G.

According to official announcement posts on OPPO Community, the company has been rolling out ColorOS 12 stable update based on Android 12 for four new handsets in its home country China since yesterday (February 22).

In order to receive the new software update on their smartphones, users are required to be on the following firmware versions.

• OPPO Reno5 K 5G – A.21, A.22
• OPPO K9 5G – A.10, A.11
• OPPO A93 5G – A.14 or above
• OPPO A72 5G – C.10, C.11

If they are, then they can head over to Settings > Software Update to check whether their unit has received the update. If not, they will have to wait a bit longer as the rollout is happening on a batch-by-batch basis.

Anyway, every user should get the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 stable update in the coming days. Hopefully, the release doesn’t bring any major issues.

In China, three more phones will get the stable update by the end of February. Similarly,  four more handsets will enter the beta program as well.

With the start of February, OPPO has officially disclosed the list of smartphones that will get access to ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 this month. Unfortunately, not a single phone will get a stable release in the second month of 2022. According to the schedule, a total of 6 handsets will receive beta builds.

The official Twitter account of ColorOS says that OPPO will be rolling out the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 for the following devices in February 2022.

Though OPPO is known for providing timelines for beta/stable releases regularly, it mostly never follows them, however, in a good way. The company usually starts seeding the update ahead of the stipulated schedule.

Hence, the ColorOS 12 beta program for the aforementioned smartphones could kickstart earlier than the mentioned dates. We will be posting stories whenever OPPO begins beta or stable rollout of Android 12 for its phones. So stay tuned.

Just a few days back, OPPO also revealed the ‘ColorOS February 2022 Update Plan for China’. According to that, 7 handsets will receive the stable update. At the same time, another set of 7 devices will get the beta update. The stable release list also includes OnPlus 9R, a phone which is yet to receive OxygenOS 12 beta outside the brand’s home country.

ColorOS 12 is the latest version of OPPO’s mobile operating system. Apart from bringing new features, it also arrives with Android 12. The company has been rolling beta as well as stable builds of its software for eligible devices worldwide since the announcement. Today, the firm reiterates the list of smartphones that will get access to beta releases in India in Q1 2022.

In a press release sent to us, OPPO once again discloses the list of phones that will be blessed with ColorOS 12 beta in India in the first quarter of 2022. A total of four handsets will get the beta releases in the next two months and no new models in January.

However, the stable update will be rolled out for three devices this month. One of them has already started receiving it today.

That said, there’s the timeline shared by OPPO.

OPPO has started rolling out the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 stable update for smartphones that got access to beta builds a month ago. The latest devices to receive stable update include the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G series and OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G.

According to official announcement posts on OPPO Community, the ColorOS 12 stable update is currently being seeded out to the following devices.

In order to download and install the fresh software update for the above-listed handsets, users will have to go to Settings > Software Updates > Gear Icon > Trial Version and follow the on-screen instructions.

Although the release is stable, there could be some issues with third-party applications. That’s because most of them are yet to be made compatible with Android 12.

Further, OPPO also notes that after the update, the Detective Conan theme on the customized version of Reno6 Pro+ 5G will not be applied to the control center and clock widget. To fix this, users will have to reset the theme. This issue is said to be fixed in subsequent updates.
