Last year, Cooler Master introduced its ORB X gaming cockpit, a futuristic and luxurious gaming station now available for purchase in China on Tmall at a price of 139,999 yuan ($19,179).

The ORB X represents a new era in gaming setups, designed to provide an unparalleled immersive experience for both gamers and professionals. Its sleek, semi-enclosed structure, crowned with a fully automatic movable cover, creates a private pod that shields gamers from distractions.

The ORB X supports three 27-inch monitors for immersive visuals, has built-in surround sound speakers, eliminating the need for headphones, and features a 2.1 channel 60W audio system with full-range speakers, tweeters, and a subwoofer for 3D audio. It offers customizable ARGB illumination with various lighting modes to enhance the overall ambiance of the setup.

The gaming cockpit prioritizes comfort with its durable ABS resin construction and ergonomic reclining chair made from genuine leather. It offers adjustable headrests, lumbar support, and seating positions for extended use. The pod provides efficient organization space for PCs and consoles while maintaining a clean and futuristic appearance, available in colors like Universe Black or Arctic White.

The power supply of the ORB X can handle up to 1200W for the computer host and monitors, with a maximum power consumption of 750W. It is robust, weighing 343.5 kg, and comes in varying dimensions based on the monitor setup to ensure stability and support for the hardware.

The cockpit also supports a USB hub that includes three USB-A 3.1 GEN1 ports with 5V/0.9A, one USB-A 3.1 GEN1 port with 5V/1.5A, one USB-C 3.1 GEN1 port with 5V/1.5A, and one USB-C 3.1 GEN1 port with 60W Power Delivery (PD).

Cooler Master has announced a new multipurpose computing pod, the Orb X that offers an immersive experience to the user. The Cooler Master Orb X goes to the heart of social exclusivity as the user can be removed from the din and whirl of the workplace even when physically present. It allows users to shut out external interferences from co-workers, family, and friends and then focus on work or gaming.

The Orb X is designed to wrap the user in speakers and screens while inside with an assured comfortable experience. The pod has an ergonomically-designed leather recliner with a fully adjustable headrest, lumbar support, leg rests, and a motorized dome that lowers above your head. The dome helps to minimize distractions when inside the pod while also positioning a monitor directly in front of your eyes. Two options are available for the monitor – a single 34-inch screen or three 27-inch monitors with an inward angle to enhance peripheral vision. The single-screen setup is suited for work applications while the three-monitor model is for truly immersive gaming.

The Orb X comes with an accompanying sound system that offers surround sound. There are two 2-inch full-range speakers, a 5-inch subwoofer, and two 2-inch tweeters. There are several USB-A and USB-C ports for charging other devices inside the pod, as well as an integrated desk.

The Orb X also features LED accent lighting but Cooler Master hasn’t released more details on the truly immersive pod. The company is yet to provide a timeline for bringing the Orb X into the market and we don’t know its price yet. It is however accepting registration on a waitlist for the device.
