Xiaomi has lately been focused on launching new products through crowdfunding, especially when it is not a consumer electronics product. Continuing the same, the company has today announced a new smart home product — Mi Smart Curtain.

The new Mi Smart Curtain from Xiaomi will be available for crowdfunding in the company’s home market China from 10th June, starting at 10:00 AM local time. Although the retail price is 799 yuan (~$113), it will be available for 699 yuan (~$99) during the crowdfunding campaign.

The Mi Smart Curtain offers three meters long magnesium-aluminum alloy rail which comes with a built-in motor to open and close the curtains and a magnetic remote control to manage the functions.

It seems that the company will also be offering the installation service for free and in that case, the customer only needs to prepare the curtain after placing the order. While users can manually choose to open or close the curtains, it can also be done automatically based on the sunlight.
