The first hire is from Amazon, Stephen Lawler who was previously the Engineering leader at the company. Now, he will join Cyanogen Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Engineering. The second hire is Karthick Iyer who will now act as the Vice President of Global System. Before joining the company, Iyer was working as the Qualcomm Android Engineering lead.

Both these individuals bring years of valuable experience to the company. Lawler worked for almost 15 years at Microsoft at various top levels positions in departments like Bing Maps, Bing Mobile, MSN etc. On the other hand, Iyer has over 18 years of experience working at Qualcomm. He has experience leading a team who worked on Android solutions at the chipset level.

“Our focus continues to be evolving the Android platform and driving innovation in mobile computing,” said Kirt McMaster, Co-founder and CEO of Cyanogen Inc. “Signals, services and systems are at the heart of building an evolved computing platform. Both Lawler and Iyer respectively are world class leaders in these areas, each having scaled some of the most successful computing and services platforms. Lawler brings a wealth of technical leadership in mobile, mapping, location, search, and cloud services. Iyer has deep expertise in end-to-end Android development. Both understand how to optimally scale engineering organizations.”

Cyanogen is making a lot of moves lately and has even signed a deal with Microsoft. With such valuable hires, we can expect to hear more about the company pretty soon.

The company has always pre-installed stock (pure) Android OS on its devices, but it looks like Ulefone has decided to take the next step by making custom third party ROMs available for its latest Ulefone Be Touch 2 smartphone.

To start off, the company will develop one custom ROM for its flagship, which will most likely be the most voted ROM. In a recent survey conducted by the company on its Facebook page, MIUI and CyanogenMod got the maximum number of votes followed by other ROMs like EMUI and Flyme. Once the first ROM is fully developed for the phone, it will start with the second one.

“People want a that provide different interaction experiences and variable themes, and in the same time, they want it to be light for best performance. We’ll take both the factors into consideration and make something people feel inspiring and good to use simultaneously ”, said Ulefone CEO Jason Liu.

Given that CyanogenMod has a lot of features to offer, we expect the company’s first custom ROM for the Be Touch to be CM. The second one could be MIUI.

Anyways, we will keep you guys updated with more information pretty soon. So, stay tuned!

However, in the later months, the strong partnership between the two companies started to weaken. Cyanogen tied up with the Indian manufacturer Yureka exclusively, which meant OnePlus Ones shipped in India was not be officially supported by Cyanogen. This put OnePlus in a tricky position which eventually led to the birth of the Oxygen OS.

Now, it looks like Cyanogen has decided to terminate its partnership with OnePlus. Speaking at the Global Mobile Internet Conference in Beijing, OnePlus CEO Kirt McMaster and founder Steve Kondik said a few things about the company’s plans for the future and it didn’t involve OnePlus.

Steve said that both the companies had different visions for their software which eventually led to clashes when each one tried to go on with their own visions.

That’s probably the last you will see from that partnership.” … “Two new companies are trying to do crazy stuff, a lot of people collide.”

But CEO Kirt is of the opinion that OnePlus’s success have been mostly led by its Cyanogen OS. He said that the company built its brand with the backing on his company.

Without Cyanogen, OnePlus would have sold like one device in international markets,” … “Essentially they built their brand on the back of Cyanogen.” – Kirt McMaster

Cyanogen has other big plans as the company aims to partner up with a brand that can expand much quicker than OnePlus into international territories. The company has not revealed any specific names, but it is said that the likely partner could be another Chinese company.

Meanwhile, OnePlus Ones will still be supported by Cyanogen but OnePlus will soon release its new OxygenOS to its users.

With the new and exciting announcement forearming us with the features of Android L, it is fair to ask what this means for the OnePlus One owners who will need to rely on CyanogenMod to bring the OnePlus One to the party. So will there be a delay between the release of Android L and the availability of it to OnePlus One users? There will be a short delay, but the developers are used to doing this sort of thing and getting it out there quickly and especially considering they are working with the manufacturers. Of course the actual length of time depends on how much of a departure the Android L is from the current version. It is estimated, based on what little we do know, to take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

It is possible to see some less stable modifications come out early but for a stable and reliable version, it could take a couple of months or even a little longer, so it depends how much of a risk you would like to take when you go for the update. Ultimately only time will tell and at any rate, most people are more concerned about when they will get hold of the handset much more than they are in a hurry to update it.

Oppo Find 7a is a robust phone with high specs. It comes equipped with its operating system based on android. The OnePlus One has a connection with Oppo as the OnePlus One smartphones are manufactured in the same facilities as the Oppo smartphones. The internal hardware is same so does the firmware found on both the phones. They are so similar, as through a little bit of tweaking you can install CyanogenMod OS on Opppo Find 7a. CyanogenMod is OS that runs on OnePlus One. Let’s have a look that how to install CyanogenMod ROM on Oppo Find 7a.

First thing you need to do is to flash the ROM. To do this you need to install a custom recovery such as TWRP or ClockworkMod. Install the ROM at the source link you found through recovery. These source links are also available at android forums and sites. Search by installing CyanogenMod ROM on Find 7a and you would find two source links that you have to insert. Then install the OTA found at the second source for fixing sound problems.

Through this you can enjoy the benefits of CyanogenMod on Oppo Find 7a. Although there are some problems that needs to be fixed by the android community. The first issue is that the photos taken from back camera will appear upside down. Voice wake is also not available, similarly NFC would not work. The software shows that only 3GB of storage space is available. These are few issues, if you can put up with these issues than go ahead and install CyanogenMod on Oppo.

Oppo has a name of its own in the market of providing “different” Smartphone’s from its rival companies. These smart phones appeal to CyanogenMod users.

Oppo in the past have given Smartphone with CyanogenMod and was expected to do the same yet again. But the fans were disappointed as there are no talks of Find7 having CyanogenMod. Some images of the Smartphone with CyanogenMod are available on Chinese social network site Weibo though. This indicates that Find7 will be offered with popular ROM in near future. This however does not confirm that ROM will be given by Oppo on the device by default.

Oppo is still considering CyanogenMod for the Smartphone. The software and hardware specification of the Smartphone having to allow 50MP photos is known.

It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD 2560 x 1440 display, a Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor that hides under the hood. The actual camera of the Smartphone is 13MP and it uses Sony sensor that can take 10 photos in a row with a single 50 MP equivalent image.

And we have got the new informatione recently, the OnePlus smartphone will also hit the European market, the price is also revealed with reach €350, it’s seems the little pricey since electronic products is always getting higher price when hit the Europe.

CEO Pete Lau has said that the European market has shown a lot of interest in the device, so the price will significantly undercut the competition. In US dollars, that’s around $480. It’s a bit higher than the previously announced under $400 price point, but the US price could be a bit cheaper. We do sometimes get cheaper electronics here in the States.

The specs is not top level now, but this company still keep working on open source project as promised. It’s more difficult to get a resolution on Cyanogenmod ROM than Qualcomm processor, Cyanogenmod has no experience on MTK processor yet. I hope may succeed soon, and bring the Cyanogenmod ROM to other phones which built-inMT6589 processor.

I wanted to increase the speed of technology, should not be released next Monday, the first equipped with a customized version of CyanogenMod ROM. But still there is news that one plus technology with CyanogenMod ROM will be officially released in the first half of this year, including software level by Cyanogen team is responsible, while the hardware is responsible for the development by a Canadian technology.

The OnePlus One will be built completely around CyanogenMod. The company is developing a custom version of the software with special features and tweaks.

The OnePlus One is due to debut in the first half of this year, with a limited launch in “selected markets” initially, but with the aim of broadening availability down the line. A Canadian technology and Cyanogen team in turn will bring what we do not like surprises?

Although Faea is new phone brand (As I known, in fact, this factory has more than 3 years OEM phone manufacturing experience), but their phone is very impressive and made the cheapest NFC phone. Today, we have gotten a picture from official about the next generation phone, there is only a phone like Samsung Galaxy S4, but some water on the phone, and some words: Love you, whatever rain or shine. This picture maybe hint that the new phone has waterproof feature.
We have no more information about this new phone, maybe it will named Faea F3 according to their former model. The phone looks same with Samsung Galaxy S4 or Mega 6.3.

Faea is different with other China phone factory, they make something for user request. They are working with CyanogenMod on a open source project and will release CyanogenMod ROM soon. It will be first Cyanogenmod phone than OPPO N1.

The founder Steve Kondik also will take part in the OPPO N1 launching event in Beijing on September 23th. We also get news from Faea, they also is cooperate with CyanogenMod for a real open source project, and port a CM10.1 ROM for their Faea F2s flagship phone. Which will be the first CyanogenMod partner phone? We will get answer soon.

OPPO N1 is different phonoe with Faea F2s, maybe CyanogenMod want both high-class and middle-class phone for different users. I think it's very good news for CyanogenMod community.

Steve Kondik is the founder of CyanogenMod is a rock star in the Android community. Almost 2 years ago, Kondik officially joined with Samsung to help the Korean tech giant makes their Android products look ‘awesome’.

Now, after nearly two years of joining and the latest generation of Samsung Galaxy S lineup, Kondik decided to resign from Samsung. Kondik said that the experience of working with Samsung is very nice, but she felt that now it was time to try the new things.

Kondik also did not forget to convey the impression to the Galaxy S4:

“I was playing around with the Samsung Galaxy S4 before leaving. I am a big fan of the S3 and I use it every day, so I’m pretty happy with what is presented in the S4. Although no major design overhaul, but the device feels more solid than the S3.

In terms of specs, this device is far beyond any other device on the market. There are also a number of unique features that has a lot of potential as a touchscreen that can track floating gesture commands and a IR blaster. The benchmark score is also well above the other devices, so it should be able to run any application with a very, very smoothly.”

Kondik favorite feature is the ‘hover’ preview, which you can refer to display an email without having to touch the screen to show a preview of the content of the email. Interestingly, Kondik it is very annoyed with the Smart Scroll so he prefers not to activate the feature.

Kondik wrote, “TouchWiz has become a bit more consistent with the latest upgrade. There are no more jarring mismatches in different parts of the OS, and it’s been lightened up a bit and has a clean “flat” feel. Unfortunately, it feels like it has been sent a few years back in time to the Froyo days. Say goodbye to all of the nice touch-friendly ViewPagers and say hello again to a fully tabbed UI . You’ll also enjoy the seemingly endless onslaught of popup windows and modal ‘Loading…’ dialogs. UI performance is average.”

Kondik indicated that CyanogenMod seems to be compatible with the Galaxy S4 Snapdragon chipset.
