The Chinese company has <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/hwnr48/oneplus_accidentally_leaks_hundreds_of_customer/">yet again exposed user data</a>, in what <a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/07/23/oneplus-accidentally-exposes-customer-information-again-in-the-stupidest-way-possible/">Android Police is calling</a> the stupidest way. The company exposed email addresses of hundreds of its customers in a research email.</p>
<p>While it&#8217;s not <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/data-breach">data breach</a> and the issue is a bit less serious, it showcases the trend on how OnePlus continues to face data-related issues. The development comes when the company suffered two security-related issues this month.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-333694" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Customer Email Leak" width="600" height="1320" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-136x300.jpg 136w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-768x1690.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-465x1024.jpg 465w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-696x1531.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-1068x2350.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/OnePlus-Customer-Email-Leak-191x420.jpg 191w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>In this customers&#8217; email exposure, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> sent out a mass mailer for research and study, and instead of putting email ids of customers in the BCC field, the company sent out the email with all email ids in the To field, exposing them to everyone on the list.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/01/redmis-product-director-hints-the-company-is-considering-small-screen-phones/">Redmi’s product director hints that the company is considering to make small-screen phones</a></strong></p>
<p>However, the number of the leaked email address of OnePlus customers have not been independently verified but a user on Reddit which revealed this and shared image, claims that it is hundreds of customers.</p>
<p>Last year, in November, the company had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/23/oneplus-customer-data-breached-yet-again-names-and-addresses-likely-exposed/">revealed a major data breach</a> in which customer&#8217;s information such as name, contact number, email, and shipping address was exposed but the company had said that payment information was safe.</p>
<p>Prior to that, OnePlus had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/23/oneplus-confirms-credit-card-breach-impacted-40000-customers/">reported its first security breach</a> in which credit card information of nearly 40,000 OnePlus customers was exposed through the company’s official website. After last year&#8217;s breach, the company had said that it would partner “with a world-renowned security platform&#8221; and launch a bug bounty program.</p>
