Similar to most other trademark filings, there are no details provided regarding this tech.</p>
<p>However, given that the application was filed under Class 9 that covers things such as smartphone cameras, 3D scanning, and smartphone camera software, it’s safe to say that the trademark is indeed related to cameras.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-262223 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung DepthVision Lens" width="770" height="535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-300x208.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-768x534.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-696x484.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/samsung-depthvision-lens-604x420.jpg 604w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>The DepthVision Lens technology is now expected to be present on the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> Galaxy Note 10 series&#8217; camera. Since the technology seems related to 3D scanning, it could be a part of the camera setup that will include Time of Flight (ToF) sensors.</p>
<p>Reports indicate that the Galaxy Note could come with ToF sensors and the top-end variant in the lineup is said to have two ToF sensors. Thus, it seems very likely that the DepthVision Lens is the company&#8217;s name for the 3D camera function. Also, the company had recently trademarked &#8220;Make &amp; Play 3D&#8221;, another instance which hints at the ToF sensors related function.</p>
<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </strong></span><a title="Xiaomi launches the Marvel Avengers: Endgame Iron Man Mk50 Robot priced at $286" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/03/xiaomi-launches-the-marvel-avengers-endgame-iron-man-mk50-robot-priced-at-286/" rel="bookmark"><strong>Xiaomi launches the Marvel Avengers: Endgame Iron Man Mk50 Robot priced at $286</strong></a></div></div>
<p>Apart from this, the upcoming next-generation Galaxy Note series phones are expected to come with the three-step variable aperture setting. This is probably to offer better pictures in low-light conditions and better portrait shots. Given the reports and leaks, it seems that the company is focusing more on the Galaxy Note 10&#8217;s camera technology. To know for sure, we&#8217;ll have to wait for the official announcement.</p>
<p>Samsung has already confirmed that it is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/02/samsung-galaxy-note-10-launch-7-august/">holding its &#8220;Unpacked&#8221; launch event on 7th August</a> where the company will unveil the next-generation Galaxy Note series of smartphones &#8212; Samsung Galaxy Note 10. We are also expected to hear more about the Galaxy Fold, the company&#8217;s first foldable smartphone.</p>
