Casio is set to introduce two new models to its popular G-Shock Full Metal collection this October: the GM-B2100SD-1A and GMC-B2100ZE-1A.

G-SHOCK GM-B2100SD-1A features

The GM-B2100SD-1A, a refined version of the 2022 GM-B2100D-1A, offers improved readability with a darker grey background and silver watch hands and hour markers. This seemingly minor design tweak could make a significant difference in user experience, especially for those who rely on their watches for quick and easy time checks in a variety of lighting conditions.

This model features a hybrid analog and digital display, Bluetooth connectivity, and solar charging. The Bluetooth functionality allows the watch to sync with smartphones for automatic time adjustments, reminders, and a phone finder tool, making it more than just a standard timepiece. Casio’s solar charging system provides up to seven months of battery life, ensuring the watch remains functional for extended periods without frequent charging.

The GM-B2100SD-1A is currently available for pre-order in Japan at JP¥84,700 (~$572). Global availability and pricing have not yet been confirmed.

G-SHOCK GMC-B2100ZE-1A features

In celebration of Casio’s 50th anniversary, the GMC-B2100ZE-1A boasts a black ion-plated stainless steel bezel with gold accents and a gold ion-plated link in the stainless steel band. This unique design combination blends sophistication with the ruggedness for which G-Shock is known.

While the GMC-B2100ZE-1A is similar in features to other GMC-B2100 models, such as Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging, its aesthetic sets it apart. Apart from the gold accents, the model will also benefit from Casio’s usual smart features, including automatic time adjustments and phone control via the Casio Watches app.

Pricing & availability

The GMC-B2100ZE-1A is expected to be priced significantly higher than the GM-B2100SD-1A, with early rumors suggesting a US retail price of around $930. However, the official release date and pricing outside of Japan have yet to be confirmed.

Casio America has unveiled the Black and White Collection, a new series of G-SHOCK watches featuring five models with bold black exteriors and sleek white dials. The collection includes updated versions of the GA2100, GA700, GA100, GA110, and DW6900, each enhanced with the brand’s signature toughness and modern aesthetics.

The GA2100WD-1A, part of the popular GA2100 series, now boasts a white dial that complements its iconic octagonal bezel. The GA700WD-1A combines analog and digital displays, with multi-dimensional hands set against a striking black-and-white colorway.

The GA100WD-1A adds a crisp white dial to its millisecond stopwatch and magnetic resistance features, offering a mix of functionality and style. The GA110WD-1A stands out with its oversized dial and intricate details, now highlighted by the white dial. Lastly, the DW6900WD-1, a fan favorite since its 1995 release, receives a modern update with a new white “Triple Graph” LCD dial.

Casio has unveiled the GMD-S5610IT, a new addition to its G-SHOCK lineup in collaboration with the popular K-pop girl group ITZY. This is the second partnership between the two, building on the success of their initial release earlier this year.

The new watches are offered in five distinct colors: Lavender, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Each color reflects the individual personalities of ITZY members, making the watches a unique and stylish accessory for fans.

One of the standout features of the GMD-S5610IT is the hand-drawn heart arrangement that appears on the LED backlight when illuminated. This design element is inspired by the “crown pose” that ITZY members often make at the end of their performances. Additionally, five stars are printed with mirror ink at the top of the watch face, symbolizing the five members of ITZY shining brightly on the world stage.

The watches also feature engravings of each member’s signature on the case back and a die-cut star on the band loop, further enhancing the ITZY-inspired design. Casio has introduced a limited edition EDIFICE timepiece to celebrate the 50th anniversary of TOM’S, a renowned Japanese racing team. The EFS-S641TMS watch is inspired by the iconic TOM’S KP47 Starlet, a prominent race car from the 1970s.

The watch’s design reflects the Starlet’s look, featuring a color scheme of white, red, and green. The metal band loop resembles the Starlet’s side mirror mounts, while the dial takes inspiration from the car’s Igeta wheels. Additionally, the honeycomb pattern at the 3 o’clock position nods to the Starlet’s front grille.
