The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra was spotted on GeekBench, carrying the SM-X736B model number. Looking at the listing, we can see that the high end tablet is powered by MediaTek’s latest and greatest Dimensity 9400+ SoC. This flagship processor is paired with 12GB of RAM. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra was also spotted running on the latest Android 16 OS out of the box.

To recall, the Dimensity 9400+ also arrives with 12 core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU and MediaTek NPU 890. Despite having the cutting edge processor, the new Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra only achieved a single core test score of 1420 points and a multi core score of 5312 points. This is a lot slower than smartphone models that feature this same processor.

But rather than being a cut down version, the score is likely impacted due to the listing being for an early prototype model for this flagship tablet. As the name suggests, the new flagship Galaxy Tab is the direct successor to the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. MediaTek has launched its new flagship chip, the Dimensity 9400+, aimed at improving AI, gaming, and connectivity on smartphones. It features an All Big Core CPU setup with one Cortex-X925 core at 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This design boosts both single-core and multi-core performance for Android flagship devices.

The chip includes the upgraded MediaTek NPU 890, which supports on-device large language models using Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), and FP8 inferencing. Speculative Decoding+ speeds up AI tasks by 20%, while the Dimensity Agentic AI Engine helps developers build advanced AI systems.

For gaming, the 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU brings better visuals with PC-level features like opacity micromap for detailed textures. MediaTek’s Frame Rate Converter 2.0+ doubles the frame rate and cuts power use by 40%.

Connectivity also sees major upgrades. The chip extends Bluetooth range up to 10km (line-of-sight), supports BeiDou for 33% faster GPS-like location fixes even without mobile networks, and includes Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band support. The 5G modem reaches 7Gbps download speeds and supports Dual SIM Dual Active use.

On the camera side, the Imagiq 1090 image processor enables HDR video at all zoom levels and adds Smooth Zoom for steady subject tracking. For audio, it supports 24-bit recording through six built-in microphones with AI enhancement.

According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400+ is built to handle heavy workloads efficiently while giving developers more tools to build better AI apps. OPPO has already launched the flagship Find X8s and Find X8s+ smartphones featuring this new chip in China.

Vivo today confirmed that it will launch the X200s and X200 Ultra in China in April. The X200 Ultra is the only model in the lineup to get Snapdragon 8 Elite treatment. Meanwhile, the X200s will stick with MediaTek, just like its siblings.

Specifically, the X200s is to be equipped with the Dimensity 9400+, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9400. MediaTek is scheduled to announce the chip on April 11, but we’re already getting an early look at its performance thanks to a benchmark listing.

Ahead of its official debut, the X200s has appeared on AnTuTu scoring 2,906,450 points on version 10 of the benchmark. That puts it ahead of AnTutu’s March’s top performer—the Vivo X200 Pro—which scored 2,902,298. The performance gap isn’t massive, but it makes sense as the X200 Pro uses the standard Dimensity 9400.

X200s specs: what’s inside

Beyond the new chip, the X200s is set to feature a 6.67-inch flat BOE Q10 display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is surrounded by slim bezels and includes a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Like the X200, it will have an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.

On the back, the phone will include a ZEISS-branded triple camera setup. A 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP LYT-600 periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom and macro support. The setup offers focal lengths ranging from 15mm to 70mm and a variable aperture between f/1.57 and f/2.57.

Powering it all is a 6,200mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. For comparison, the regular X200 features a smaller 5,700mAh battery and lacks wireless charging.

Last but not least, the X200s will be available in Soft Purple, Mint Green, White, and Black shades.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ finally has a launch date: April 11. That’s the same day as the company’s Dimensity Developer Conference in Shenzhen, China, setting the stage for its official debut.

The Dimensity 9400+ will keep the same core architecture as the 9400 but dial up the clock speed. In particular, the prime Cortex-X925 core could see a speed bump to 3.7GHz, up from the 3.62GHz on the standard 9400. 

This will be joined by the three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.30GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores, which now operate at 2.4GHz instead of 2.0GHz. The GPU remains the ARM Immortalis G925 MP12.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ Geekbench 

The chip has also surfaced in Geekbench confirming these specs. It scored 2,770 in single-core and 8,500 in multi-core tests. That translates to a 6% improvement in single-core performance and a 5% boost in multi-core, compared to the standard Dimensity 9400’s averages of 2,605 and 8,078, respectively, according to NotebookCheck.

With the official announcement, several smartphone makers are preparing to launch devices powered by the Dimensity 9400+. A leaked list suggests the following models will feature the new chip:

• Oppo Find X8S, Find X8S+
• Vivo X200S
• iQOO Neo series flagship, which is believed to be the iQOO Neo 10S Pro
• Realme GT series flagship, could be Realme Neo 7 Pro
• OnePlus Ace 5S
• Redmi K80 Ultra

Among them, the Oppo Find X8S, Find X8S+, and Vivo X200S are expected to launch in China as early as April. The iQOO Neo 10S could follow in May, while Realme, OnePlus, and Redmi’s offerings are also slated to debut in the first half of the year.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is reportedly preparing the Xiaomi 15T Pro, expected to launch a few months later in global markets. If the company follows last year’s trend—where the Xiaomi 14T Pro featured the Dimensity 9300+—the 15T Pro will likely carry the Dimensity 9400+ as well.

MediaTek typically launches two flagship mobile SoCs each year. The company introduced the Dimensity 9400 SoC back in October, and we’re expecting a slightly upgraded version, likely called the Dimensity 9400+, to debut sometime this year.

Now, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed the expected launch timeframe of this upcoming SoC, along with details on potential upgrades.

According to DCS, the Dimensity 9400+ will feature the same ARM Cortex-X925 prime core as the regular 9400. But the clock speed is expected to see a jump from 3.62 GHz to 3.7 GHz. 

Moreover, the tipster suggests that the processor will launch in March, with two smartphone brands reportedly preparing to introduce their first devices powered by it.

One of these devices is likely the Vivo X200s, as previous reports have also hinted that this phone will feature the same SoC. This also aligns with Vivo’s previous strategy, as its predecessor, the X100s, came equipped with the Dimensity 9300+ processor.

Meanwhile, the second phone the tipster may be referring to could be the Oppo Find X8S, based on recent leaks.

Specifications
