<p>The iPhone 13 Pro lineup comes with upgraded specifications and the folks at <em>TechInsights</em> took apart the 256GB internal storage model <a href="https://www.techinsights.com/blog/teardown/apple-iphone-13-pro-teardown">to take a look inside</a>, which has revealed some interesting information about the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-416849 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown.jpeg?x10805" alt="Apple iPhone 13 Pro Board Teardown" width="1100" height="625" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown.jpeg 1100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-300x170.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-768x436.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-1024x582.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-696x395.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-1068x607.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Teardown-739x420.jpeg 739w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /></p>
<p>The information shared by the phone teardown team reveals that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-13-pro/">iPhone 13 Pro</a> comes packed with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. This is a bit older as a newer variant for the memory &#8212; LPDDR5 is already available.</p>
<p>Also, it has been revealed that the GPU on the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro seems to be the same, except for the core count. The standard model reportedly has a 4-core GPU while the Pro model comes with a 5-core GPU.</p>
<p>This is a similar approach that Apple is taking with its new M1-powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook">Mac devices</a> where the low-cost models have 7-core GPU while the costlier models pack 8-core GPU.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-416848 size-full aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board.jpeg?x10805" alt="Apple iPhone 13 Pro Board" width="1100" height="625" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board.jpeg 1100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-300x170.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-768x436.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-1024x582.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-696x395.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-1068x607.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Board-739x420.jpeg 739w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /></p>
<p>The disassembly also revealed that iPhone 13 features a 1.7µm wide camera, which means it has larger pixels than the iPhone 12 which has 1.4µm pixels. On the other hand, the Pro model boasts a wide <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">camera</a> with 1.9µm pixels, up from its predecessor&#8217;s 1.4µm pixels.</p>
<p>The company uses its own chips, including the A15, the Audio Codec, and the Audio Amplifiers. Other components are coming from suppliers like Qualcomm, KIOXIA, NXP, STMicroelectronics, USI, Qorvo, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/broadcom">Broadcom</a>.</p>
<p>The cost for the iPhone 13 Pro&#8217;s materials and components comes out to around $570, which is more than $548 that costed Apple to make iPhone 12 Pro. The increased pricing is due to the costlier chip, NAND memory, and display subsystem, as well as the increased cost of the main enclosure. Do note that the pricing isn&#8217;t inclusive of other associated costs, such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/software">software</a>, labor, shipping, etc.</p>
<p>Currently, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro 256GB storage model is available for purchase at a price of $1,099. This means that the Cupertino-based tech giant is selling it at 1.9x the phone&#8217;s build cost.</p>

Now, just days after the phone being made available in the market, the company has shared an interesting video.</p>
<p>Xiaomi has <a href="https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4592845681852725">shared a video</a> on its Weibo account that shows the Mi 11 smartphone being disassembled but then the phone gets reassembled into a mechanical sculpture of a dragon &#8212; an iconic symbol in the Chinese culture.</p>

<p>For this process, two Mi 11 phones were used, along with four Leather Edition models for the softer material. The company is also reporting that it took 30 days for the article to complete this disassembling and reassembling process of around 500 parts.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship smartphone features a 6.81-inch AMOLED 2K display that offers 3200 x 1440 pixels screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/23/cornings-toughest-gorilla-glass-victus-announced-may-feature-on-the-galaxy-note-20/">Gorilla Glass Victus</a> protection.</p>

The same smartphone has been made available in the global markets as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-10/">Mi Note 10</a>.</p>
<p>The highlight of the smartphone is that it comes with five camera sensors, a 5,260mAh battery as well as a 1cc speaker chamber. The teardown video shows how this was made possible by the company to fit together.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-289141 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Teardown" width="727" height="545" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-1-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>Once the back glass panel is peeled off, we can see that there are a few layers of components which include NFC antenna, a graphite sheet to spread the heat from the chipset and an additional cover supporting the cameras.</p>
<p>This houses the quad LED flash as well as the Laser auto focus system along with an ambient light sensor to adjust the camera’s color temperature. Then there&#8217;s a penta-camera setup and as we can see, the 108-megapixel sensor is pretty large and this module is a custom version of Samsung’s <a href="https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_announces_a_huge_108_mp_isocell_bright_hmx_camera_sensor-news-38627.php">ISOCELL HMX</a> sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-289142 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Teardown" width="1200" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-CC9-Pro-Disassembly-2-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The first lens in the rear-facing camera system of the phone is a 4-axis OIS assisted 5-megapixel super telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x hybrid zoom. Next is a 12-megapixel portrait sensor with a pixel size of 1.4micon. The third sensor is the Samsung-made 108-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 4-axis OIS. Next comes a 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 117-degree field-of-view. The fifth one is a 2-megapixel macro lens with a focal length of 1.5cm.</p>

<p>Finally, coming to the small-sized motherboard, we can see that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor along with LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 storage and various other chips, including the 30W fast charging hardware.</p>
<p>Interestingly, Xiaomi managed to fit a 5,260mAh battery in the smartphone that too without resorting to L-shaped batteries like Apple uses. For those who are unaware, Apple has used L-shaped 4,000mAh battery for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11-pro-max/">iPhone 11 Pro Max</a>.</p>
<p>Below the battery, there&#8217;s a 1cc loudspeaker chamber and the 3.5mm headphone jack to its side. With all these components, there&#8217;s no room for the traditional in-display fingerprint sensor, thus, the company opted for an ultra-thin reader which is just 0.3mm thick and made possible by a micro-lens with micro-collimation technology.</p>
