Oppo is gearing up to celebrate India’s biggest festival in style with the upcoming Reno 14 5G Diwali Edition. Teased ahead of Diwali, this limited-edition smartphone brings a festive twist to the Reno 14 series, showcasing a special new design inspired by the Festival of Lights.

The Chinese tech giant just shared a teaser for the Reno 14 Diwali Edition on X (formerly Twitter). To recall, the Reno 14 first debuted back in May 2025, while the Reno 14 Sun & Moonlight Edition was released in July 2025. Now, Oppo is offering a brand new limited edition model of the Reno 14 that is inspired by one of India’s biggest festivals. Looking at the teaser image poster, the Reno 14 Diwali Edition features that features golden mandala artwork along with a golden peacock.

The intricate artwork is etched on the black rear panel. This offers a nice contrast to the eye catching design. Oppo has teased the new special edition Reno 14, but there is still no official word regarding its launch date. Apart from the bright design, this limited edition model likely offers the same specs and features as the regular Reno 14. So we can expect the Reno 14 Diwali Edition to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

It features aerospace-grade aluminium frames and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for protection, along with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. CMF, Nothing’s sub-brand is bringing a special update to celebrate the festival of light with its Indian fans. The brand has introduced three new Diwali themed watch faces for its CMF Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 wearables. CMF’s smartwatches are getting watch faces inspired by the festival, which includes an Oil Lamp, Lotus, and Dancing Lady. The Oil Lamp and Lotus feature a digital clock style, while the Dancing Lady Face features an analog clock style.

As of right now, the three watch faces are already rolling out for Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 users in India. For those interested, you can access these special watch faces via the CMF By Nothing Watch App. The CMF Watch Pro 2 was announced globally back in July 2024, while the first Watch Pro was launched last year in September. The Watch Pro 2 sports a 1.32-inch circular AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 620 nits of peak brightness.

It features an aluminum alloy body with a rotating crown. The smart wearable has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Earlier today (7th October 2022), Xiaomi announced that its Diwali festival sales has seen it achieve record breaking numbers in India. During the festival season, the company managed to sell more than 6 million devices.

The Chinese tech giant is hosting its initial phase of its ‘#DiwaliWithMi – Tech Ka Shubh Muhurat’ festive season sales. This sale began prior to the actual Diwali festival and offered discounts and deals for a wide range of products across the categories. This sale was hosted on the company’s official website and even offline channels as well, which helped the brand more than double their sales over the previous year.

Xiaomi saw its highest ever first phase sales thanks to devices like the Redmi Note 11, Redmi A1, Redmi 10, Xiaomi 11i series, Redmi Smart TV 32”, and Xiaomi Smart TV 5A 32 inch model that were popular during the sale and saw some of the highest sales as well. According to Raghu Reddy, Chief Business Officer, Xiaomi India “the festive season is a momentous occasion for us wherein we want to delight our consumers and make it a memorable one for our fans and partners alike”

He further added that “With the kickstart of ‘Tech Ka Shubh Muhurat’, we continued to deliver attractive offers across our product portfolio, helping our consumers make informed decisions. An Indian company is giving its employee a huge Diwali bonus of an electric scooter. The company, Alliance Group is based in Surat and it is reported that it had already gifted 35 of its employees with the Okinawa PraisePro, valued at Rs. 76,848 ($1,036). The e-scooter gift will serve multiple purposes as the company seeks to reduce consumption of gas, enhance savings and provide an improved overall carbon footprint.

Alliance Group is into the business of embroidery machines production, and the company says the increasing prices of gasoline was one of the factors that led it to offer the e-scooter gift bonus to its employees. It says the move will save the company’s staff expenditure on fuel and enable it to contribute towards environmental protection and a green outlook. Alliance Group also stated that it will continue to sustain measures aimed at maintaining environmentally safe and green operations.

It is not clear what metrics were used to choose the 35 employees that had benefited from the Alliance Group Diwali Gift bonus scheme, but the move remains impressive all the same. The percentage of the company’s workforce that has benefited from the rewards scheme is also not known,  although the bulk could likely come from the lower end of the workforce.

JioPhone Next, a new budget smartphone from Reliance Jio, made in partnership with Google, is expected to be made available in the Indian market around Diwali. This means that the official launch could be just days away.

Ahead of the launch, the company has released a video titled “Making of JioPhone Next” which reveals some of the key details of the smartphone, including the software that will be running the device.

It has now been confirmed that the JioPhone Next will be running Pragati OS. It is a new operating system built on top of Android in partnership with Google and comes with a host of features to cater to entry-level smartphone customers.

Reliance says that Pragati OS has been built specifically for India. In a statement, the company said: “It has been engineered by best minds at Jio and Google with an objective to bring Pragati for all while offering truly seamless experience at affordable cost.”

It has also been confirmed that the smartphone will come powered by a Qualcomm chipset but specific details haven’t been revealed yet. The device will also come with a Voice Assistant to help users operate the device and get information easily from the internet.

There will also be a “Translate” feature that will let users have any screen translated to a language of their choice. In the camera department, the JioPhone will come with a “smart and powerful camera,” which is likely to be a 13-megapixel sensor.

It will support multiple photography modes such as portrait mode, night mode, and more. Users will also get “custom Indian augmented reality filters” to enhance the pictures by associating them with “emotions and festivities.”

A recent leak of the phone through Google Play Console listing reveals that it will feature an HD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC. It may be offered in two variants — 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.

The phone is expected to come powered by a 2,500mAh battery. While the pricing and availability details still remain unknown, it will probably be priced between ₹5,000 (~$66) and ₹7,000 (~$93) in the Indian market.

The highly anticipated JioPhone Next launch has been delayed. The device was set to launch on September 10 but has now been postponed to the Diwali festive season due to a number of reasons.

For those unaware, the JioPhone Next smartphone arrives from a Reliance Jio and Google collaboration that sought to bring a first of its kind experience that was made for India. The model features an optimized OS that is based on Android and Play Store and would offer premium capabilities like voice first features, which was usually common in high end smartphones. This feature would allow users to consume content and navigate their handsets with their own language, while also delivering a great camera performance with Android features and security updates as well.

In a joint statement, the Indian telecom giant and the search engine giant said that the JioPhone Next is currently under going advanced trials with a limited set of users for “further refinement” and the company’s are currently aiming at launch date set in the Diwali festive season. Furthermore, another major factor leading to the delay is the global semiconductor shortage. The delayed launch would enable both brands to better “mitigate” the industry wide shortage of chipsets.

Last year, Reliance Jio partnered with Google for launching an entry-level smartphone running the Android operating system. It has taken a bit longer to get launched than expected but now it seems that the launch could happen soon.

As per the report from ETTech, citing people aware of the matter, Reliance may launch its affordable smartphone before Diwali in India. It comes as the COVID-19 situation is improving in India and the demand is likely to peak by then.

The phone, which is being developed in partnership with Google, has already crossed the Research & Development stage and the company is exploring the option of sourcing components from the likes of Tata Electronics.

It is currently under testing at the manufacturing facilities of Wingtech Mobiles, Dixon Technologies, UTL Neolyncs, and Flextronics Technologies, says the report. As previously noted, the phone is likely to be priced around $50 and the pre-booking could start in the coming months in India.

Citing one of the top executives, the report adds that Google’s job is to optimize the software of the device while Chinese Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) Wingtech will design the hardware while other vendors will be assembling the device.

There’s a possibility that the upcoming smartphone’s specifications and pricing could be announced at Reliance‘s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is scheduled on 24th June but the actual sale date could be a few weeks or months later.

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO just launched OPPO F17 and OPPO F17 Pro in the beginning of this month in India. And now, according to a new leak, the company will soon debut a higher model in the series called OPPO F21 Pro before Diwali (festival of lights) in the country.

This exclusive leak comes from MySmartPrice. As per the industrial sources of the publication, the OPPO F21 Pro will either launch in October or November before the Diwali festival on Diwali on November 14.

Unfortunately, the sources did not reveal any specifications of this device. However, they did mention that it will be sleeker than the OPPO F17 Pro with a glass back design instead of plastic rear panel. Also, it is said to feature a different pattern on the back to differentiate itself.

That’s all the information the leak gave away about the upcoming OPPO F21 Pro. That said, since it will be placed about the OPPO F17 Pro, we can expect it to feature a much powerful chipset than MediaTek helio P95, retain AMOLED display, 30W or more fast charging, better cameras, and ColorOS 7.2 baked on Android 10.

As for pricing, the OPPO F17 Pro is available in a single 8GB + 128B storage configuration for ₹22,990 ($312) in India and therefore, the forthcoming OPPO F21 Pro should retail for around ₹30,000 ($407) in the country.
