DJI is expanding its more affordable drone lineup with a new Lito series, aimed at beginners and casual users who want something easy to fly without giving up too much in terms of features. The focus here is to keep things simple, keep them portable, and still offer enough capability to make aerial photography worthwhile.

The lineup includes two models. The Lito 1 is positioned as the more accessible option, while the Lito X1 steps things up slightly with better hardware and more advanced safety features. Both are lightweight, coming in under 249 grams, and feature foldable designs that make them easy to carry around.

Both drones support DJI’s O4 transmission system, offering a stable 1080p video feed, and there is optional 4G support for better connectivity. Quick takeoff is another highlight, cutting down the wait time before you can actually start flying. They can also track and retrace flight paths in well-lit environments, which should help beginners feel a bit more confident.

Battery life is solid for the segment. The standard Intelligent Flight Battery is rated for up to 36 minutes, while an extended option can push that to around 52 minutes. The omnidirectional vision system actively avoids obstacles like cliffs, and walls, making the drones beginner-friendly. The Lito X1 also adds a forward-facing LiDAR sensor for improved depth sensing and more precise obstacle detection.

The Lito 1 uses a 1/2-inch 48MP sensor that can capture 8K photos and 4K/60fps video. The Lito X1, however, is where things get more interesting. It steps up to a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor (with the same resolution) and adds support for 4K/60fps HDR video, 4K/100fps slow-motion recording, and 10-bit D-Log M.

There are also plenty of software features like subject tracking, quick-shot modes, time-lapse, and panoramas. Taken together, the Lito series feels like a push to make entry-level drones a bit more capable, without making them harder to use.

Pricing and availability:

Pricing in China starts at 1,999 yuan for the Lito 1, with bundles going higher depending on the controller. In Europe, the Lito 1 is priced at €339, with the Fly More Combo (DJI RC-N3) at €479. The Lito X1 starts at 2,488 yuan in China, while European pricing begins at €419, going up to €579 for the Fly More Combo with the DJI RC 2 controller.

Both the drones are already available for order through where-to-buy and authorized retailers.

DJI is set to launch its new Lito series on April 23, 2026, marking its first consumer drone release of the year. The company has officially confirmed the launch via teasers, with the event scheduled for 20:00 China time (12:00 GMT). Unlike a typical upgrade, the Lito lineup appears to introduce a completely new category in DJI’s drone portfolio.

The series is expected to include two models, the Lito 1 and the Lito X1. The Lito X1 is likely positioned as a successor to the Mini 5 Pro, aimed at users who want better imaging and smarter features. Meanwhile, the Lito 1 is expected to replace older entry-level models like the Mini 4K and Mini 3, focusing on affordability and ease of use.

Leaked pricing suggests aggressive positioning across markets. The Lito 1 is expected to start at €339 (around $370–$400), while its Fly More Combo could cost €479 (~$520–$560). The more advanced Lito X1 may begin at €419 (~$450–$500), going up to €759 (~$800–$900) for the Fly More Combo Plus bundle with the RC 2 controller. This places the series neatly between budget drones and more premium compact options.

Connectivity is expected to be a major highlight. The Lito series may feature DJI’s next-generation O5 transmission system with a range of over 20 kilometers. There are also reports of possible 5G cellular support using software-defined radio technology, which could improve signal performance in crowded environments.

Safety features could see a big upgrade as well. Both models are rumored to include 360-degree obstacle avoidance using a combination of fisheye cameras, infrared sensors, and LiDAR-like technology with detection up to 10 meters. This setup is designed to improve collision detection in all directions.

DJI is also expected to introduce smarter controls. Features like voice commands and gesture-based operation may allow for a more hands-free flying experience, making the drones easier to use for beginners.

In terms of design, both drones are expected to weigh under 249 grams and feature foldable bodies with three-axis gimbals. The Lito 1 may offer around 22GB of storage and up to 30 minutes of flight time, while the Lito X1 could include 42GB of storage and more advanced sensing capabilities.

Some key details, including camera specifications and video capabilities, are still unknown and will be revealed at launch.

The Lito series could reshape DJI’s entry-level lineup, potentially replacing older models while offering a better balance of features and price. DJI has also teased another product launching on April 28, likely a new wireless microphone system, adding to a busy month for the company.

DJI could soon introduce a new line of consumer drones in the market. According to the outlet thenewcamera, certification filings with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) suggest that DJI is working on two new drones: the DJI Lito 1 and the DJI Lito X1.

As with many DJI leaks, the details come from regulatory paperwork rather than official announcements. The documents reveal internal codenames, early hardware references, and just enough hints to sketch out where these drones might sit in DJI’s lineup.

DJI Lito 1

The DJI Lito 1 seems to be the more affordable of the two. Listed under the codename SS3-DGN12, the Lito 1 is believed to be an entry-level drone intended to replace the current Mini 4K. It could start at around $330. 

While the certification documents don’t go deep into camera or flight features, storage is listed at 22GB. Expect it to be for light photo and video use rather than more demanding production work.

DJI Lito X1

The Lito X1, on the other hand, looks like a serious upgrade. Codenamed SS3-DGP14, this model is expected to replace the Mini 5 Pro and focus more heavily on video creation. The starting price is rumored to be around $759.

One of the more notable details in the FCC filings is the mention of “SDR Transceiver 2” for the Lito X1. So the drone could use DJI’s next-generation O5 image transmission system. And if true, that would allow transmission distances of over 20 kilometers (about 12.4 miles). 

There’s also speculation that DJI could integrate 5G cellular connectivity through SDR technology, although this remains unconfirmed.

Moreover, the Lito X1 may also get a 360-degree omnidirectional obstacle avoidance support that combines a fisheye optical lens, a LiDAR-like sensor with a 10-meter detection range, and an infrared module. The drone is also expected to support voice commands like “Hey, take off,” along with motion-based controls.

The Lito X1 is said to come in two versions: a standard model with around 30 minutes of flight time while staying under 250 grams, and a Plus version that extends flight time to roughly 50 minutes. Internal storage on the Lito X1 is reportedly increased to about 42GB.

As for timing, FCC confidentiality agreements typically last 180 days. That means DJI must publicly disclose the products by May 25, 2026, or the documents will be automatically released. 

The report suggests DJI could launch the drones between late February and early April.
