DJI is getting ready to expand its panoramic camera lineup with a successor that builds on an already solid foundation. Official teasers have confirmed an imminent reveal.

A page on DJI’s Hong Kong website, titled “All Angles. All Epic,” points to an August 13, 2026 launch at 12PM GMT (20:00 Beijing time). That lines up with other signals, including an Instagram teaser suggesting pre-orders or reservations could start as early as August 7. Chinese social media posts and reports have also pointed to early August activity.

One Instagram post shows dynamic 360 footage of mountain biking, dancing, and skiing, ending with a simple “Coming soon.” An earlier teaser takes a top-down view of a square sensor that then pulls back to reveal the camera and a fisheye lens overlay.

DJI hasn’t published full specifications yet. The original Osmo 360 already offered strong capabilities, including 8K/50p and 6K/60p video, 120MP panoramic stills, and solid internal storage. Early indications and regulatory filings suggest some practical upgrades for the sequel, such as a larger 2150mAh battery (up from 1950mAh) for longer runtime and possible support for 8K video at 60fps. Additional refinements like NFC for easier pairing have also been mentioned in Chinese reports.

Availability could be tricky in some markets. Growing restrictions in the United States have already affected other DJI gear, so a U.S. launch at or near the global debut looks less likely. The camera is still expected to roll out in other regions, where it will go head-to-head with rivals in the panoramic space.

The teasers show DJI is confident in refining its 360 formula rather than starting from scratch. As more details come out on August 13, we will find out whether the Osmo 360 II delivers meaningful gains in resolution, battery life, and usability to stay ahead of the competition.

DJI has officially entered the 360-degree camera space with the launch of its first panoramic shooter, the Osmo 360. This isn’t a modest debut. Instead, DJI has gone all-in with flagship-grade imaging specs, pro-friendly features. Let’s check out its key specs.

DJI Osmo 360 Specifications

The Osmo 360 comes with two 1-inch square sensors. These sensors aim to reduce dead zones and improve low-light performance. The camera supports native 8K panoramic video recording at up to 50fps and offers up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range. In flat video mode, the device records 4K footage at up to 120fps with a 170° ultra-wide field of view. It also captures 1.2 billion-pixel panoramic photos, equivalent to 16K resolution.

DJI has equipped the Osmo 360 with a lightweight 183g body that includes an advanced internal cooling system. The camera can record 8K video at 30fps continuously for up to 100 minutes. It can also record 6K panoramic video for up to 190 minutes. The device supports 10-bit color and D-Log M for enhanced color grading.

The Osmo 360 includes 105GB of usable internal storage and a microSD card slot for additional expansion. It supports fast charging via USB-C PD 3.0. DJI has also included a 1/4-inch thread mount and support for the magnetic quick-release system found in the Osmo Action series.

For audio, the Osmo 360 features four microphones and supports both stereo and mono recording. It supports DJI’s OsmoAudio technology, which enables direct connection to two DJI wireless microphone transmitters without a receiver. The camera supports voice control, gesture commands, and Bluetooth headset integration for remote operation.

DJI has provided multiple shooting modes, including seamless lens switching in single-lens mode up to 4K/60fps and an invisible selfie stick feature for 360-degree footage. The camera is IP68 certified, making it waterproof up to 10 meters and freeze-resistant to -20°C.

Pricing and Availability

The Osmo 360 is available now in China, starting at 2,999 yuan for the Standard Combo and 3,799 yuan for the Creator Combo. In Europe, the camera is priced at €479.99 including VAT, while the Adventure Combo retails for €629.99. Canadian pricing is listed at $430 and $580 respectively, though DJI has not confirmed availability or pricing for the US market.

DJI appears to be preparing to enter the 360-degree camera space. A new leak from a known tipster Igor Bogdanov has revealed what seems to be the first official-looking render of the company’s upcoming action camera, reportedly named the Osmo 360.

The leaked image shows a squat, dark gray camera with a lens and a small horizontal display. There are two physical buttons located below the screen, and what seems to be a power button on the side. The design lines up with earlier unofficial images, which also showed a compact, flatter form factor compared to other 360 cameras currently on the market.

The Osmo 360 will reportedly support 5.7K panoramic video recording and come with built-in electronic image stabilization. The device is expected to be waterproof and might launch at a price close to that of GoPro’s MAX 360, which currently sells for around 2,598 yuan in China.

There’s still some uncertainty about the specs, though. According to the leak, the camera may feature a 1-inch sensor, but that hasn’t been finalized yet. If true, it would give the Osmo 360 an edge in image quality over some smaller-sensor 360 cams, though DJI hasn’t confirmed anything officially.

Other details that have surfaced include a touchscreen interface and a standard tripod mount on the bottom. It’s unclear what functionality the two rear buttons will offer, and DJI hasn’t shared anything about the software experience or editing tools.
