A couple of months ago, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Doogee launched the Doogee S90 smartphone in its home market, which comes with a modular design allowing users to attach various modules for enhancing the experience.

There’s a magnetic strip on the backside of the Doogee S90 through which users can easily attach the desired accessory. The company has already introduced a few modules, including Night Vision Camera, Power module, Digital Walkie-Talkie, Game module, and the 5G module.

Now, the Chinese company has added two new modules in the list — Projector and 2 Environment. While it’s not yet known how the projector module will work, we expect it to be similar to that of Samsung Galaxy Beam where it will project a beamer out of the smartphone.

Coming to the phone’s specifications, the Doogee S90 comes with a 6.18-inch display and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and the processor is supported by 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 128GB.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 16-megapixel and an 8-megapixel AI dual camera setup. Since it is a rugged phone, it comes with an IP68 certified body ensuring water and dust resistance. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and is powered by a 5,050mAh battery.

Doogee also showcased its modular S90 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain, along with two other smartphones — S70 and S80. The phone is currently available for purchase through various online retailers for a starting price of $330.

When the 5G module is attached to the Doogee S90, it allows the phone to use 4G networks for browsing. However, for broadcasting video, downloading movie or music, it switches to 5G networks. The 5G module includes a MediaTek 5G modem that promises maximum download speeds of 3.5 Gbps (1 Gbps daily) and maximum download speeds of 1.26 Gbps.

Doogee had launched its last youth-centric Y-series phone two year ago. The company is back again with ne Y-series such as Doogee Y7 and Doogee Y8 that delivers a good viewing experience since they offer 88 percent screen space.

It is coupled with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there’s a 15.93-megapixel shooter on the rear side while a 7.99-megapixel sensor sits on the front side. It is sustained with a 5050 mAh huge Li-polymer non-removable battery. DOOGEE runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo with their customized skin on top.

DOOGEE Y series also making debut at MWC 2019
