<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For years, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Google/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Google </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">Chrome on Android has only had few options for downloads such as location to save downloads, pause/resume, and downloads in progress/completed. Finally, it is going to change soon according to a finding by </span><a href="https://techdows.com/2020/07/chrome-android-download-later-feature.html"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">Techdows</span></i></a> <span style="font-weight: 400">(via </span><a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/google-chrome-for-android-getting-download-scheduler/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">XDA Developers</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">)</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In the latest Chrome Canary 86 for </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-10"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, Google has introduced a new flag for “Enable download later”. Unfortunately, it seems to not work all the time as the feature is still in development.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Anyway, when it works, Chrome will prompt when you download a file with a dialog of three options &#8211; “Now”, “On WiFi”, and “Pick date &amp; time” with “Don’t show again” checkbox to set preference. Selecting the last option will let you schedule your downloads just like any downloader app.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">That said, it is not sure when this feature will make it to the stable channel. Hopefully, it does soon as it is definitely a welcome addition to the most used browser on Android.</span></p>
