<p>A new drop test for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-s23/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung Galaxy S23</a> series of flagship smartphones have just surfaced online. The endurance test shows the high end phones being dropped on their various sides and answers the question of whether the S23 models are durable with their sustainable design.</p>

<p>The drop test was conducted by <em><a href="https://youtu.be/rUw4dwbttKU" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Allstate Protection Plans</a></em>, who shared the video of its test on its official YouTube channel. In the video, we can see the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra being dropped from the front, back, and sides from a height of six feet. The results from these tests were even compared to the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s 2022 flagship handsets, the Galaxy S22 lineup. This comparison between the two generations were made to showcase the S23&#8217;s durability with its new sustainable materials. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="688" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-1024x688.png?x44794" alt="Samsung" class="wp-image-525713" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-1024x688.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-300x202.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-768x516.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-696x468.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-1068x718.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233-625x420.png 625w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-28-140233.png 1312w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Looking at the video, we can see that all three S23 models (and even the S22 series) were dropped flat two times once on their face and once on their back from a height of 6 feet from a robot called DropBot. All six models were damaged on their front and rear glass, but the Galaxy S23 Ultra pulled ahead with the least damage. This was quite notable considering despite landing on its curved edges. The side drop tests showed just minor dents on the device&#8217;s aluminum frame. </p>

<p>Meanwhile, the base Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ were shattered after the face drop, which even resulted in raised and loose glass pieces. Even the Armor Aluminum were damaged as well. But despite all this, the Galaxy S23 series were just as durable if not slightly better since the tests showed that the S23 lineup performed better than their predecessors. In other words, the S23&#8217;s sustainable design does not compromise on durability. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 features recycled glass that is built using plastic from discarded fishing nets found in the ocean. So this real life durability test is quite impressive.</p>

<p>Last week, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra underwent a durability test conducted by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/pbkreviews">PBKReviews</a>, and unfortunately, it didn&#8217;t fare well. The S23 Ultra&#8217;s screen shattered on the very first drop from a waist-high position. The curved display of the S23 Ultra was probably the main culprit for its fragility.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Drop Test. Flat Screen VS Curved." width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/itDf3E7DLww?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>However, the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s23+">S23+</a> also failed the durability test in the same way, despite being equipped with the latest iteration of <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/gorilla-glass/">Gorilla Glass</a> and a flat display (as compared to the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s23-ultra/">S23 Ultra</a>’s curved display). The cracks on the flat glass panels of the S23+ were comparatively smaller than those on the curved panels of the S23 Ultra, but both devices continued to display content and accept touch input regardless, which was the only upside of this drop test. It&#8217;s worth noting that most modern smartphone glass sandwiches are likely to break if dropped from waist height.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S23 Plus flaunts a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), a 48-120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The centered punch-hole screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/01/corning-gorilla-glass-victus-2-with-improved-drop-resistance-on-rough-surfaces-launched/">Victus 2 </a>and can play HDR10+ content. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Ultra brings cutting-edge hardware to the conversation. It has the brand’s best display, best cameras, and fastest chip. There’s a tall 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ (3,088 x 1,440) resolution and a dynamic refresh rate that can go from high 120Hz to as low as 1Hz with the help of LTPO technology.</p>

<p>Overall, it seems that the Galaxy S23 Ultra and S23+ have similar levels of durability, and users should handle these devices with extra care to prevent accidental damage. A hard case is also a great option for those who would prefer to be a little carefree around their phone.&nbsp;</p>

In a new video from Allstate on YouTube we can see the entire lineup of Galaxy S22 smartphones are less durable than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-13/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 13</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-446469 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="1600" height="899" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/samsung-s22-drop-test-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>Looking at the video, the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s latest and great smartphones were put through a drop test to determine their durability by dropping them on their front, back, and sides to see the levels of damage. Talking about the face drop first, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra shattered on the very first six feet drop test on the sidewalk. Notably, two out of the three models were completely unusable due to the drop test.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Allstate Protection Plans Samsung Galaxy S22 Breakability" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WzBq523l-i0?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In comparison, the Apple iPhone 13 series were also tested by Allstate back in September 2021 and saw generally better results overall. For the face drop test, the iPhone 13 survived the drop with just minor damages and only cracked by the second face drop. Arriving at the back drop test, the Galaxy S22 series all had their rear panels completely shatter, but worked fine otherwise. Although, using them with bare hands was difficult since it had broken glass shards. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 models survived two drops with only minor cracks along the camera and the corner.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Allstate Protection Plans iPhone 13 &amp; 13 Pro Breakability" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qY6A8nNchKg?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>These results were replicated in the side drop tests as well, especially considering the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a curved display. Apart from the iPhone 13 being more durable overall, the Galaxy were also more prone to damage than Samsung&#8217;s last generation<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s21/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Galaxy S21</a> series as well. As per Allstate Protection Plan vice president Jason Siciliano, the design upgrades in the S22 and S22 Ultra have &#8220;resulted in durability downgrades when compared to their Galaxy S21 predecessors.&#8221;</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nokia-3310/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nokia 3310</a> has just faced off against the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-13-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple iPhone 13 Pro</a> and the results might surprise you.</p>
<p>The odd drop test comparison between these two devices arrives from a tech YouTube channel called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VubgDcc4xjY" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>TechRax</em></a>. In the video, he has the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s latest flagship go against a class Nokia device that is known to be <strong>very</strong> durable. While the results might already seem clear to you, with Nokia obviously winning easily, this was surprisingly not the case. We can see the Nokia 3310 going first in the drop test in a spiral stair case.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-419460 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-52-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>During its turn, the phone hit the railing and quite literally broke down into various pieces. Although, the 3310 didn&#8217;t shatter necessarily, just got took apart into various LEGO like pieces due to the sheer force of the long drop. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 Pro was dropped not once, not twice, but an impressive three times. In the first drop, the rear glass panel of the iPhone was cracked but the front panel remained relatively unscathed.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-419458 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-29-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>In other words, the ceramic shield actually came in quite handy. However, the second drop finally cracked the display on the bottom right corner while the rear panel shattered further. But this is still quite the result considering the second drop had the device fall even further down the spiral stair case. The third and final drop had surprisingly no impact on the device either, with just a few more cracks showing up in the front.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-419461 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Screenshot-54-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Apart from this the device seemed more or less normal with no visible issues in performance or any issues with the camera. Unfortunately, the fate of the Nokia 3310 wasn&#8217;t revealed, although, we can assume it survived since despite its body breaking apart, the old feature phones usually broke apart in falls and a simple assembly of the keyboard, battery, and back panel usually made the phone good as new. But regardless, Apple has clearly pulled out all the stops to have its latest iPhone 13 flagship.</p>

The layer is the successor to the Gorilla Glass 6 and offers better scratch and shatter resistance. This holds true with a recent drop test that showcased impressive results.</p>
<p>In a video shared on YouTube by <em>PhoneBuff</em>, the flagship from the South Korean tech giant was subjected to its drop test, along with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple&#8217;s iPhone 11 Pro Max</a> as a comparison. It is generally known that dropping a smartphone on the back can be worse than the front of the device has a camera bump, which changes the point of impact. However, the drop test found that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra faired way better than the flagship from the Cupertino based giant.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/24/moto-g9-with-6-5-inch-display-48mp-triple-cameras-snapdragon-662-and-5000mah-battery-launched-for-rs-11499-153/">Moto G9 with 6.5-inch display, 48MP triple cameras, Snapdragon 662 and 5,000mAh battery launched for Rs. 11,499 (~$153)</a></strong></h6>

<p>Looking at the video, the iPhone 11 Pro Max with the Gorilla Glass 6 protection cracked completely, while the Victus protection on the Note 20 Ultra saw it survive with a lot less visible damage. Only the corner of the Galaxy device was cracked due to the point of impact, while only a few minor scratches on the camera module was observed. When both smartphones were dropped on their face, the Samsung flagship outperformed the iPhone 11 Pro Max again, with the former surviving 10 drops and having just a few scratches, which is quite impressive.</p>

Of course, an Armor Series member cannot be anything less than durable as hell, even if it belongs in the entry-level segment. To prove that, Ulefone conducted a drop test to determine and showcase exactly how durable the phone is. Let&#8217;s check it out.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0wQ6FPAsqUw?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Thanks to the convex design on four corners and the slant design on the back, the Armor X3 can effectively withstand drops. In the video, the device is subjected to various drop tests pushing the limits of its certifications to the maximum. You can see that it survives and can work normally after falling down from stairs, hitting solid floor or rocks from more than 1 meter high, being thrown into a puddle, etc.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-268841" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Ulefone Armor X3" width="800" height="543" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1.jpg 923w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1-300x203.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1-768x521.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1-696x472.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ulefone-Armor-X3-1-619x420.jpg 619w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Besides its durability, it also can perform well in casual use. It comes with an 8MP/2MP dual rear waterproof camera for vivid and crisp photos even underwater and the selfie shooter hosts a 5MP sensor that can also be used for face unlocking. What&#8217;s more, it comes with 2 more creative features: Gloves Pattern and Easy Key for a better experience. The Glove Pattern helps you control your phone when wearing gloves and the Easy Key is a dedicated button to which you can assign a specific task when pressed. It is powered by the MT6580A SoC backed by 2GB/32GB memory configuration, there is a large, 5000mAh battery, and runs the latest Android 9 Pie. Of course, IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certifications are a standard in the Armor Series.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Xiaomi Mix is a fragile phone and this is due to its lack of bezels on three sides and its ceramic body. So you have to be very careful if you own one as chances of it surviving a drop is very slim. So at what height does the Mi Mix crack? YouTuber, JerryRigEverything has decided to find out for us in his drop test.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-104609 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/xiaomi-mix-official.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Mix" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/xiaomi-mix-official.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/xiaomi-mix-official-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/xiaomi-mix-official-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">First he mentions that in his durability test of the phone, the Mi Mix&#8217; ceramic body is pretty strong, scoring almost 8 on the scale of hardness. The first drop test is from a height of 6 inches and the Mix survives without a scratch. The second drop test cranks it up to 1 foot and it still doesn&#8217;t shatter even though the fall causes it to bounce off the concrete and flip over.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The <del>straw</del> height that breaks the Mix&#8217;s back is 2 feet and to be honest it may have survived the fall if it had landed face flat and not on the top right corner. The fall chips out the ceramic and leaves two cracks that run  across the whole length of the display.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/18/xiaomi-mi-band-2-update-will-add-support-chinese-font/">Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Update Will Add Support for Chinese Font</a><span id="more-107629"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">So the advice is to make sure you do not drop your Mi Mix or invest in a bumper case that can absorb shocks most especially at the corners. Below is the full video of the drop test</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><div class="su-youtube su-u-responsive-media-yes"><iframe width="600" height="400" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VeLKqjvmFvQ?" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen allow="autoplay; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture" title=""></iframe></div></p>

Made from a single slab of space grade aluminium, to achieve the unibody design, OnePlus also says apart from being lightweight, the OnePlus 3 has outstanding strength. And how else do you prove that last part other than by carrying out a drop test?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><div class="su-youtube su-u-responsive-media-yes"><iframe width="600" height="400" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5-o7d3aoVnU?" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen allow="autoplay; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture" title=""></iframe></div></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The OnePlus team headed to Mimizan, France, to carry out this drop test. The phone is thrown out of an airplane flying at an altitude of 750 ft. The phone survives the drop, though it lands on a grassy plain which is still sufficient to damage a phone, but can&#8217;t be compared to landing on tarmac, asphalt, or concrete. You can watch the video to see for yourself.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The OnePlus 3 has a 5.5&#8221; optic AMOLED display with Corning gorilla glass 4, a snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15GHz, 6GB RAM, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and is powered by a 3000mAh battery with support for OnePlus&#8217;s fast charge technology dubbed Dash Charge.</p>

During the launch, the company had a lot of good things to say about its ceramic back cover, which reportedly uses a 16 step process to achieve the desired texture.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77412" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test-02.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 5 pro scratch test 02" width="600" height="327" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test-02.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test-02-300x164.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><br />
When compared to the glass back of the Mi 5, this particular body costs 75% more, which is why the Mi 5 Pro is priced higher at 2699 Yuan ($416). The material looks premium and is extremely resistant. In fact, it can boast of 8 Mohs hardness, which is quite strong.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro Ceramic Back Cover Scratch Test Review" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sWggh8e07fY?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>To prove that the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro&#8217;s 3D ceramic body can take a beating, the company recently released a torture test video. Like you can see in the video added above, the phone is being subjected to a number of stress tests, starting from simple scratches from a key to the wrath of a drill. Irrespective of the tool used in the test, the ceramic body came out unscratched, which is really impressive. In fact, even after these test, the phone looked as good as new.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77413" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 5 pro scratch test" width="600" height="330" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-scratch-test-300x165.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>But the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro is not just a looker. It comes with powerful specs such as a Snapdragon 820 chip clocked at 2.15GHz, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage to make sure that the performance is top notch. Further, there will be a 16MP rear camera with 4-axis OIS and a 4MP Ultrapixel front facing shooter ideal for selfies. It&#8217;s a complete package featuring good looks that will last for a long time as well as capable hardware.</p>
<p>The Mi 5 Pro will go on sale in China on April 6, after which we can expect several more flash sales for this version in the country. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/28/xiaomi-mi-5-india-launch-confirmed-march-31/">phone will release in India on March 31</a>, which is just a couple of days away. It remains to be seen whether the Mi 5 Pro model will also launch alongside the regular version at the event in India. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.</p>

The phone comes with top-notch specifications, especially for a device in its segment.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-02.png?x44794"><br />
</a> There&#8217;s the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset under the hood along with 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB storage options. The display up front is of 5-inches with FHD 1080p resolution. The rear camera is a 13MP Sony IMX 258 sensor with improved algorithm for better low light images (brighter and less noise). Up front, there&#8217;s a 5MP shooter with wide angle lens for the perfect group selfie. The phone comes with 3080mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 and a USB Type-C port. There&#8217;s even an IR port up on top.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-60028" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi4c drop test 01" width="758" height="387" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01.png 758w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01-300x153.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01-640x327.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-01-681x348.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 758px) 100vw, 758px" /></a></p>
<p>Overall a great device in terms of specifications for just $203. But is it durable enough? Well, folks from China just did a drop test of the new Mi4C and in general, the phone did quite well.</p>
<p>In the waist high drop test, from around 1m high, the Mi4C survived the fall. No visible scratches or damages. Even in the second drop test from chest height, (around 1.5m), the phone survived as well. This shows that the display is quite strong and can definitely withstand a few falls.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-60027" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi4c drop test 03" width="822" height="386" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03.png 822w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03-300x141.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03-640x301.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/xiaomi-mi4c-drop-test-03-681x320.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px" /></a></p>
<p>However, in the third drop test, which was from over the head height, the Xiaomi Mi4C didn&#8217;t survive. That&#8217;s like the worst case scenario and its unlikely that you would drop your phone from such a height. So, in most cases, the Mi4C&#8217;s 5-inch display should survive a fall.</p>
<p><embed src="http://player.youku.com/player.php/sid/XMTM0Mzg4ODEzNg==/v.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="400" align="middle"></embed></p>
<p>Anyways, take a look at the video and see it for yourself.</p>
