Earlier today (17th July 2020), the OnePlus forum had a new post published by a staff member, which revealed the specifications of the camera module of the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord.

According to the official forum post from the company’s Imaging Director, the OnePlus Nord will feature a quad camera setup on the rear. The official said that “After months of product planning, internal discussions, and testing, we decided that Nord should have six cameras – four on the rear, and two on the front.” Apparently, the company added the additional sensors as a response to the feedback it had received from its fan and participants in the Open Ears Forum.

The primary sensor is a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor along with, an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, a 5 megapixel depth sensor, and a Macro lens. The main lens has a large f/1.75 aperture and will feature optical image stabilization (OIS). Furthermore, the company promised various fine tuning through software that will enhance the overall experience and results during photography.

Moving to the front, the primary selfie shooter in the dual front facing camera setup includes a 32 megapixel sensor alongside an additional ultra wide angle lens. The wide angle lens on the front has a 105 degree field of view and will help in those wider shots that include a large number of people. OnePlus also claims that the new selfie cameras will have algorithms that will “automatically leverage the power of AI and long exposure technology to brighten up selfies and reduce noise in low light.”

Apple is expected to release its flagship iPhone 8 later this year but the device has repeatedly been dogged by rumours that the launch could be delayed as a result of some technical hitch. While that is yet to be clarified, a fresh rumor has emerged that the iPhone 8 would come with a dual camera setup up front which is capable of shooting 3D images. The dual cameras are also detailed to feature a special selfie portrait mode. This rumor emerged from Twitter tipster @VenyaGeskin1.

The front dual camera setup is in addition to the rear dual cameras the device is equally said to feature which would be similar to that of the dual camera-packing iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus also came with a portrait mode on its rear camera but this tie around it is said to be at the front with the same algorithm and landscaping. This no doubt would make the selfie camera output more beautiful and could see some selfie fans getting on the Apple train. The front camera is also said to have a 3D facial recognition technology developed by LG/Innotek which would make i the first smartphone in the world to have such.

If the piling features which would be on the iPhone 8 should elicit your interest in the flagship, just know you’ll have  huge price tag to contend with on this one. Well, that’s if the latest rumor about the price is anything to go by. According to UBS analyst Steven Milunovich, the iPhone 8 could be priced at $870 for the base model while the top-end 256GB version would go up for as much as $1,070. We are not sure about that but since it is Apple, they can set the price so high and still there’ll be scarcity of the device.

LG could be said to be among the pioneers of dual camera phones as we know it today. Even though HTC holds the title of having the first real dual camera phone, LG ‘s name still pops up each time the history of dual camera phones is being discussed. The Korea company looks set to take the bar a tad higher once again by releasing a phone with dual cameras at the front and rear a the same time.

This kind of setup will likely be on the LG V30 whose front panel leaked on Slashleaks recently. Although only the front panel was leaked showing there would be dual cameras up front, the LG V30 may likely follow the trend of the V10 and V20 which had dual cameras at their rear aspects. Also, the panel reveals another shocking detail, which is the likely cancellation of the secondary display which has been the hallmark of previous LG V-series smartphones.

The tipster is credited with some high level of credibility so, the leak is likely that of the V30. Besides, we had already started getting rumours that the V30 would pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset as well as 6GB of RAM. We hope to see more leaks as time progresses.

OPPO seems to have a couple of new smartphones in the works which would hit the market soon. That is if the rumor emanating from the Philippines is anything to go by. A pair of OPPO smartphones named OPPO F3 and F3 Plus were recently spotted in an ad poster somewhere in the Philippines.

In case you don’t know, the Philippines is one of OPPO’s stronghold as the Chinese brand is very popular in the country. The smartphones’ names mean they belong to the F-series which are better known by the alias “Selfie Expert”. But this time around, the F3 and F3 Plus looks set to take that selfie expertise of the F-series to a different plane, with the poster indicating that they would pack dual selfie cameras.

Another interesting fact gathered from the poster is the presence of South Korean singer G-Dragon who seem to have endorsed the smartphones. Apart from the picture of him holding who should be one of the two smartphones, his autograph and name are also crested onto the poster. G-Dragon and his band, the Big Band are popular in the Philippines, so the likelihood of all these being real is big.

OPPO’s previous antecedent when the R9 Plus was spotted in a poster inside an airport in China long before it was announced perhaps further lends credence to the chances of these being real. We hope to see more details especially on the specs and launch date, in the coming days.

Ahead of its launch slated for later today, the Vivo X9 has featured in a set of leaked renders courtesy of popular tipster @kjuma. The renders show the device having a white-colored front face around the display while it comes with silver color at the back, which is most likely one of its color variants.

The front view render shows the device’s most potent offering which is the front dual camera, with both sensors sitting at one side of the front earpiece while the proximity sensor is at the other end. The device is also shown to have a physical home button at the front which would likely function as a fingerprint scanner.

At the back, the main camera is located at the top left corner of the device, with an LED flash lying at its side. The Vivo X9 also comes with an antenna band design that is similar to those on the iPhone 7. We are beginning to see more devices adopting this form of antenna band design, by the way. The phone also features a design with narrow bezels around the display screen.

We had earlier seen the key specifications of the Vivo X9 and X9 Plus via a leaked box casing. However as a reminder, the X9 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and an unspecified Snapdragon processor which is tipped to be the Snapdragon 625 chip. The front facing cameras are a combination of a 20MP sensor and an 8MP sensor with soft light, and there is a 16MP shooter on the rear.

In addition, the Vivo X9 will have a 3050mAh battery, a front fingerprint scanner,and a dedicated AK4376 HiFi audio chip. The bands supported have also been listed as: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B38, B39, B40, and B41 while the device would run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Funtouch OS 3.0.  There is also dual SIM/ Dual standby support on the device.
