Samsung EM32DX Specifications

The Samsung EM32DX display uses an E Ink Spectra 6 panel that supports 54,600 colors through dithering and delivers a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Samsung’s color imaging algorithm optimizes the visual output to create smooth gradients and softer edges. The display aims to replicate the appearance of printed posters while consuming far less power than conventional LCD or OLED signage.

The device can operate without a constant power source. It comes with a built-in 4,600mAh battery that lasts up to 200 days on a full charge under typical usage, and up to 500 days if the content is updated less frequently. According to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, the display consumes 0.00W when showing static images.

Samsung has designed the EM32DX to be lightweight and easy to install. It weighs 2.5 kilograms and measures 17.9mm thick. The panel features uniform bezels (13.9mm) on all sides and supports both landscape and portrait orientations. Businesses can mount it on walls, ceilings, or tables using VESA-compatible accessories.

Connectivity options include two USB-C ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 8GB of onboard storage. Samsung also provides a dedicated E-Paper app for Android and iOS devices, which allows users to create content, schedule display times, and manage content locally. The Samsung VXT cloud platform enables centralized management across multiple displays and supports real-time monitoring. The display runs on Tizen 8.0 and integrates with existing business systems through Tizen Enterprise APIs.

Samsung positions the EM32DX as an eco-friendly digital signage solution that helps businesses lower operational costs and reduce environmental impact. The display uses recycled materials and ships in paper-based packaging.

Pricing and Availability

Retailers such as Samsung’s own business store and PCNation have listed the display. Prices currently start at $1,200, with some early discounts bringing it down to $1,166.

In related news, MSI recently launched the MPG 242R X60N gaming monitor featuring a 600Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time, while LG has introduced the UltraFine 40WT95UF, the world’s first 5K2K monitor with Thunderbolt 5 support.

Beijing Dasung, a leading manufacturer of electronic ink displays, released the world’s first 25.3-inch curved ink screen display, Paperlike U. This product continues the top-level configuration of Paperlike 253, featuring a 3K ultra-high-definition resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, making it ideal for use as a computer display. Here’s the details…

Paperlike U becomes World’s first curved ink display with wireless connection

Paperlike U has a curvature of 4000R, which is designed to be easy on the eyes. When you use the device, it provides a strong sense of immersion. In terms of appearance, Paperlike U has an all-aluminum body and weighs only 3.3kg, making it lighter than many gaming laptops. The device is also 8mm thin. The back of Paperlike U is made from a single piece of metal using a Unibody process, giving it a sleek and sturdy appearance.

Paperlike U is equipped with Dasung’s Turbo ink screen high-refresh technology, which has been refined over nine years of development. This technology allows the device to have a higher refresh rate and faster speed, making it comparable to LCD screens. The device can be used for a variety of purposes, including reading, web browsing, document editing, stock tracking, code writing, and even video watching and online classes.

In addition to its performance, Paperlike U also has a front light function that offers soft and uniform light. The device has three front-light modes: cold light, warm light, and mixed light. The color temperature and brightness can be adjusted to suit the user’s preference. When ambient light is sufficient, the front light can be completely turned off, allowing users to enjoy a comfortable eye protection experience day and night.

One of the most innovative features of Paperlike U is its wireless display function, which allows for ultra-low-latency display at ultra-long distances. This means that users can enjoy a clean desktop without the need for cables. Overall, Paperlike U is a good product that offers users a comfortable and immersive eye protection experience. It will be available for reservations starting December 12th at 10:00 AM, with a special discount for the first batch of orders.

And now, the latest report has revealed some more details regarding the company’s future products and the new technology that they might feature.

Apple is testing E Ink's Electronic Paper Display (EPD) for future foldable device's cover screen & tablet-like applications. The color EPD has the potential to become a mainstream solution for foldable devices' must-have cover/second screen thanks to its excellent power-saving.

— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) May 17, 2022

The news arrives from known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who shared the information on Twitter. Kuo stated that the Cupertino based giant is planning on using color EPD panels (Electronic Paper Display) from E-Ink. This panel will apparently be used for the external secondary display in a foldable device. This also means that the primary display will feature a larger and more advanced display technology. The analyst adds that the EPD panel will be significantly more energy efficient than other forms of display technology.

Furthermore, since the color EPD is as form of e-ink technology, it could potentially also be used in a new model of Apple tablet devices as well. In other words, it has possible applications in both future foldable phones or even iPads. Based on our previous reports, the iPhone maker is planning on launching its first foldable device with a 9 inch display to sit between their smartphone and tablet offerings.

This foldable model will reportedly be releasing sometime around 2025. Kuo believes that the company’s foldable product roadmap will first focus on medium sized devices and then move onward to include gadgets with larger display panels. Then finally, it will eventually also include small devices like the iPhone as well.

The device measures in at just 8mm thick and weighs about 155 grams, with its body being built from a single metal piece molding process. HiSense TOUCH also supports 50W fast charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. On the front, the device is equipped with a 5.84 inch E Ink display. This is a black and white display that works with the ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the color temperature of the display that supports up to 2048 levels of adjustment and 36 levels of color temperatures.

Notably, the music reader also supports a dynamic refresh rate mode as well. So when the user touches the display the clarity of the screen will decrease to output a higher refresh rate. The quality would be restored once the users’ finger leaves the screen. In other words, the device offers both quality and a smooth user experience as well to offer a better reading experience. Since it is a music reader, the company also launched the device with HiFi sound support.

Now it is set to announce its very first 5G phone with an e-ink screen that will launch as the Hisense A7.

The Hisense A7 5G will get a global unveiling on December 22. However, it appears the 5G e-reader that doubles as a smartphone will not be getting a color e-ink screen like its siblings, the Hisense A5 Pro, Hisense A5 Pro CC, and Hisense A5C which launched this year.

A teaser video released for the phone shows that it will come in two color variants – white and black. It will have a single camera on the back along with an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner.

While details such as screen size, processor, RAM, and storage are unavailable, we believe the phone will be powered by a UNISOC 5G processor, probably the Tiger T7510 that powers the Hisense T50 5G.
Hisense says the launch is a global debut which means the device should be sold in other countries other than China. We don’t know which countries will get it yet but availability details should be available by Tuesday.

Now up for pre-order, the device is currently priced at 1,099 yuan, which is about $168 instead of its original price of 1,299 yuan (~$198).

The new model comes with a bigger 7.8-inch e-ink screen, compared to the 6-inch panel on the original model.

As per the report, Xiaomi eBook Reader Pro is all set to go official tomorrow, i.e. 15th December. It will be available for 1,090 yuan ($167) instead of a retail price of 1,299 yuan (~$199).

The teaser poster shared by the company showcases that the color of the device has been changed from White to Black. Also, it seems that the device now has a narrow frame around the screen compared to its predecessor.

The size of the screen is not yet known but it’s likely to be similar to the 6-inch display on the Xiaomi eBook Reader given that the upcoming device in the poster looks very similar to that in terms of form factor.

However, there’s a change in the design of the device. Unlike the original model, the upcoming Pro variant will have a home button, giving it the look of an Apple iPad. More details about the product remain unknown but everything will be revealed tomorrow when the device officially goes on sale.

It is powered by an Allwinner quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. One of the notable devices that stood out was the world’s first color e-ink screen mobile phone. This device attracted a lot of attention in the event and is now confirmed to launch on 23rd April 2020.

The primary highlighting feature of the device is undoubtedly its display. The Hisense device features the world’s first color e-ink display. The company has achieved this by combining the e-ink technology with the latest color printing technology to display 4096 colors. The characteristics of this enable softer colors being displayed, which does not hurt users’ eyes and is more comfortable for longer use.

This type of display also has certain advantages as well. Including, ultra low power consumption and continuous display, even when the power is off. Through this, users can enjoy reading anytime and are quite similar to the Amazon Kindle reader. The e-ink technology makes the image or text being display seem more like on paper than conventional LCD or OLED panels.

Editor’s Pick: MIUI 12 will bring Uniformed Fonts and UI Elements, Common Loading Screens for System Apps & more

Interestingly, the screen does not emit light on its own but relies on natural light imaging. This means that there is no blue light being given out, which is generally considered as harmful for the eyes. During the night, the device will use built in warm front lights as a source of illumination that relies on the reflection being defused on the display.

The Hisense Color Ink Reader will arrive with many different apps for content. It will partner with major publications from China and more to deliver an optimized reading experience. It will be launched on the 23rd of April and will be seen in the company’s launch conference on that day.

Now, Xiaomi is jumping on the train and will release its first e-ink electronic reader on November 20.

The announcement was made on Weibo today by the official Mijia account and the post revealed the eReader will be crowdfunded like several of its other products.

A sketch of the eReader shows it has thick bezels around the display. It also has a button on the top. There are no buttons on the side bezels like we have on some Nook and Kobo eReaders and there doesn’t seem to be any on the sides. This means all the controls are on-screen.

We don’t know if Xiaomi is building its own library of eBooks or if it will partner with existing ones. We also do not know if it will support audiobooks. If it does it should have an audio jack, though Xiaomi may skip that and allow you to pair a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. Another feature we hope Xiaomi’s eReader has is an IP rating that makes it safe to be used at the pool, on the beach or in the bathroom.

Just like Xiaomi’s other crowdfunded products, we hope this is affordable.

The e-Paper adopts a white body and flat design with an ultra-light magnesium alloy middle frame, which is about two-third the size of an iPad. The tablet doesn’t emit light itself as it uses an e-ink display screen. When the content on the electronic paper is not updated within a short period, the ink drops are in a stable state with no flicker, thus the device has low power consumption.

As stated, the device comes with a 10.3-inch screen with the effective display area being about 3 times the size of the mainstream 6-inch e-book reader due to the tiny bezels. The resolution reaches 1404×1872 pixels, more than the pixel size of an FHD TV screen. The large display area and high resolution are very suitable for reading professional information, especially text contents. The device comes with lots of resources for readers comprising publications, original novels and comic books.

The device comes with a Wacom electromagnetic stylus which supports 4096-level pressure sensing with a sampling rate of 360 times/second without charging. The smart algorithm of the ink case smart electronic paper can recognize handwritten letters as text, which is convenient for saving, searching and backing up. Thus you can write on the screen with the stylus and have the entire document saved for future reference. The stylus has a pure white body.

Ink case smart electronic paper uses Android 8.1 system, optimized for electronic ink display. It can be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, so you can install your favorite apps. The device comes with a built-in 32GB storage and 2GB of RAM and can store about 10,000 pdf files (calculated in 3MB per file).

Its last known launch was in June and it was for the H20 smartphone. The electronics maker has released a new poster that reveals it has a new phone launching on November 1.

The poster not only informs us of the date of the phone’s launch but also reveals its design. As you can see in the image, the phone’s display will have the trendy water-drop notch.

In two other images of the phone released by Hisense, we get to see the entire front of the phone. Even with the notch, the phone has a bezel at the bottom. There is no fingerprint sensor on the front, so it is likely to be on the back.

[envira-gallery id=”218937″]

The specs of the phone are unknown but a rough translation of the text on the launch poster hints at an impressive battery life. Hopefully, more details will surface before the launch next week.

The above device will likely not be the only one Hisense will announce next week. Last week, the manufacturer shared a photo of a new dual-screen phone on its Weibo page. The phone has a primary color display with a rectangular notch and a secondary e-ink screen on the back. We believe it will also be announced on November 1 as a successor to the Hisense A6.

One side of the phones has a color display while the other side is home to an E-ink display. However, Yotaphone isn’t the only manufacturer to adopt this design. Chinese electronics company and smartphone maker, Hisense, also has phones with this design and it is set to announce a new one next week.

A live photo of the phone was shared on the manufacturer’s official Weibo account. The phone has the same candy bar design of its predecessors with a screen on each side. The rear of the phone which houses the E-ink display seems to be the same as that of the Hisense A6, its last phone with a similar design. But the big change is in front.

With the notch being the trend this year, Hisense is adopting it for the new phone. As you can see, the screen, which should be AMOLED by the way, now stretches to the top, eliminating the top bezel in the process. The lower bezel is still there but with the forehead gone, the phone can fit a bigger display in the same body as its predecessor.

The image also shows that the phone will come with a single camera on both sides. There isn’t a fingerprint scanner visible but based on the design of its predecessor, we are sure it is on the side where it doubles as a power button. We also expect it to have face unlock and a dedicated AI button. Don’t expect an audio jack – the A6 doesn’t have one, so the chance of this having one is slim.

READ MORE: Nubia Z18S to launch as Nubia X on October 31

The official name of the phone is unknown but Hisense said it will launch next week. There are speculations it will be a variant of the A6, maybe the Hisense A6 Pro or A6S or something in that line. Apart from the physical difference, we expect it to also feature some changes under the hood.

The design of the Pro 7 recently leaked showing an innovative concept, a secondary display located at the back of the smartphone, something we have never seen before. Don’t get it all wrong, we know secondary displays are not new, the likes of LG, Yotaphone have been using that all this while but the thing is that the location has always been at the front, hovering above the main display. In contrast, that of Meizu is located on the top left corner of the back casing.

Taking a closer look at the leaked photos, we can gather that the display will have a curved glass on top and unfortunately, there is still a sizeable amount of bezels around the display both at the top and bottom. The side bezels are quite thin but since they are there, the black borders around the display are still visible. We already know the device will have a front fingerprint sensor located on the mBack button. There seems to be a single opening for the selfie camera up front without any other opening. The working home screen carries a theme which looks like Android Nougat, of course with a touch of Meizu’s Flyme OS.

The rear view offers a view of the secondary display in action and seems to be a miniature replica of the front home screen. As beautiful as the design may be, we are yet to see its spectacular importance apart from keeping you from opening up the main display all the time there is a notification beep. The rear display also houses the rear camera which is a dual setup as well as a LED flash in the same square. Also visible, is the U-shaped antenna band design wich fuses with the metal body.

We still got to see the device captured from the side but the photo is not clear enough for us to make out the features located at the bottom edge and the side rockers present. Obviously, the power button and the volume rockers will be by the side but at the bottom, we can’t tell if it is a USB Type-C port from the blurred photo.

Read More: Meizu Pro 7 & Pro 7 Plus Specs & Prices Leaked, Launching Next Month

This latest set of leaked photos is an indication that the Pro 7 may likely be launched soon. The Pro 7 is expected to pack a MediaTek Helio X30 chip and from the leaked renders, the flagship model will likely be available in Gold and Black colours. There may be more colour variants aside from these two, though.

Although it will arrive late to the party, coming after Xiaomi’s Mi 6, Nubia’s Z17, and even the OnePlus 5, it has managed to stir up a bit of excitement thanks to its rumored secondary display.

There are a bunch of phones with secondary displays. There is the YotaPhone 1 and 2, the LG V10 and V20, and the HTC U Ultra. However, Meizu’s design stands out. Unlike the HTC U Ultra and LG V series that have their secondary display right above the main one, Meizu has its own at the back.

The second display is said to be an e-ink variety like that of the YotaPhone but only occupies a small area. It will show notifications, weather information and other important info.

We have seen renders of the phone and leaked images of the chassis. Today, we get to see a real life image leaked online by Weibo user @Fotoball. The image shows only the back, giving us a glimpse at the secondary display in action. We can also see the dual rear cameras and the LED flash positioned right above it.

The Meizu Pro 7 is expected to launch in July and will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X30. There is mention of a Plus variant that will have a larger display and swap the X30 for Samsung’s Exynos 8890.

The Meizu Pro 7 was seen on China’s 3C certification website listed as the Meizu M792C and M792Q smartphones. Unlike TENAA, the 3C site doesn’t reveal much. The only info is that the phone will have 24W fast charging.

The Meizu Pro 7, according to previous leaks is expected to have a 5.2-inch AMOLED display that may be FHD or QHD. It will be powered by Mediatek’s 10nm chip, the Helio X30. We will keep our fingers crossed on this last bit as no phone has launched with the chip up till this moment.

The Meizu Pro 7 may come with 4GB or 6GB of RAM with different storage configurations. It will feature Meizu’s new Flyme 6 UI based on either Android 6 or Android Nougat. Meizu’s signature mBack button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner will also be present.
