Decathlon has unveiled the new Stilus E-Touring electric hybrid bike across several European countries. The bike features upgraded components, a powerful motor, and a long-lasting battery, making it suitable for commutes and off-road adventures. This model builds on the previous Stilus E-Touring design with improved performance and enhanced rider comfort.

Decathlon Stilus E-Touring E-Bike Specs

The Stilus E-Touring uses a Bosch Performance Line CX mid-drive motor. The motor delivers 85 Nm of torque for smooth and powerful pedaling assistance, especially on hills and challenging terrain.

The bike has five assistance modes, including Eco for energy-efficient rides and Turbo for maximum power. The motor is paired with a Bosch PowerTube 750Wh battery, which allows the bike to travel up to 130 km on a single charge.

Decathlon designed the bike with a 6061 aluminum frame and offers it in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The medium size weighs 26 kg, making it light for an electric hybrid bike in this category. The low step-through frame makes mounting and riding easier, especially for urban riders.

The bike features a Suntour XCM32 ATB suspension fork with 100 mm of travel, ensuring enhanced comfort on rough terrain. Its 29-inch Schwalbe Johnny Watts tires deliver improved grip and stability, whether you’re on roads or trails.

The bike relies on Shimano components for precise and reliable performance. The Shimano CUES 11-speed drivetrain ensures smooth gear changes, while Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes deliver strong braking power in all weather conditions. DJI is apparently moving away from its iconic drones and gimbals, to focus on a brand-new product line. The company is rumored to be working on a high-end e-bike, which is being developed in secret. So let’s have a look.

DJI e-bike built for the global market

According to a new report, the popular Chinese drone maker is silently developing a new e-bike, which is being internally referred to as project code EB. Sources close to the matter have revealed that the company is being silent about this product since it’s still in the confidential stage. Although, it is brought in Alex Jio, who is a senior engineer that was previously in charge of DJI’s Ruying backpack stabilizer.

Reportedly, the development of this project started back in 2020. The upcoming e-bike is expected to be positioned as a high-end model that is built for various purposes. This includes sports and off-roading. As per a report from the Chinese publication, the e-bike will be completely self-developed by the brand and will be sold in the overseas market. In other words, it will likely be sold in global markets like the US and Europe.

This would make sense considering e-bikes are quite popular in the Western market, especially Europe. Furthermore, the “high-end” positioning also implies that the DJI e-bike will cost around 3,000 to 4,000 US Dollars since a regular e-bike already costs around 1,000 US Dollars. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment, so take this news with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates.

Today we received a large device that looks like a toy: AOSTIRMOTOR S18. Although I say it is like a toy, it’s actually not for children. In fact, if you look at the size of it, it’s not exactly suitable for young children to play. It’s an all-terrain electric mountain bike, a special bike for us older kids who like to have fun in the wild.

The design of the AOSTIRMOTOR S18 is a bit different from other electric bikes. There are a lot of curves in this triangular frame, including the battery, which is also irregular in shape. The frame is made of full metal, which is very solid. And also very heavy.

It doesn’t have adjustable height, but the all-terrain bike doesn’t need a tall high seat height either, so it doesn’t matter. We all know that large-size tires are essential for electric mountain bikes to get better off-road ability. 

The two fat tires have a 26-inch wheel diameter plus a 4-inch tread, so there’s no doubt you will feel comfortable riding it even facing complex terrain. The front and rear wheels use Disc Brakes, which ensure that you can brake down quickly. But it’s still better to brake gently to prevent the brakes from locking up the wheels and causing any damage. The derailleur on S18 is Shimano tourney with a 7-gear speed cassette. The thumb shifter is also from Shimano, which performs pretty well. It’s not a very expensive module, but at least it comes from a trustworthy brand. The derailleur also has a metal protection bracket on the outside, which protects the derailleur when you fall off the bike. The S18 has front and rear dual light modules. The front one is to prevent you from hitting others, and the back light is to prevent others from hitting you. Making sure your ride at night will be safer.

The front wheel of the S18 is equipped with a pair of zoom suspensions, which serve as the primary shock absorbers for safe riding. There is also a suspension in the middle of the body frame. After the past few days of experiencing the bike, these three suspensions are sufficient to cope with most road conditions. There are two electronic elements on the Handlebar, one is the backlit LCD display and the other is the controlling module of electric power. It also serves as the power switch for the S18. The LCD display shows the current status of the S18. For example, the current remaining power, speed and other important metrics.

You can long press up and down for 2.5 seconds to change the settings inside. There is a USB port on the bottom of the display, so if you need your phone for navigation, it can be used to charge up your phone or other devices at any time.

Now let’s look at the powertrain of the S18, which has a 750w toothless brush motor with five-speed levels to choose from, with the fastest speed up to 45km/h. That’s quite a lot for an all-terrain bike, after all, you don’t need that much speed most of the time. The maximum speed that can be achieved in each gear is listed, so you can choose the right speed gear according to your needs. The battery capacity is 720 Wh. We didn’t drain its battery in the riding test, but the S18 max estimated range is at least 35km. This unique shape of the battery is removable. When you open both front and rear locks, you can easily take it out and charge it. Charging with the special charger they come with takes about 4-6 hours to be fully charged. The front lock is also a power lock, so you can’t start it without a key. 

The S18 is a great E-bike and I want to share some of my honest experiences with it with you. First of all, it is not only a toy that you can play with among the hills, it can also be used as your transportation for urban travel. Its big fat tire can not only pass through the muddy road but also can easily pass through the stairs. Meaning, you don’t have to get off the bike to be able to freely travel between roads. But I still have to remind you, for your safety, do not try to climb high steps with it. Of course, S18 is not perfect, there are some places I think can do better. For example, the kickstand is easy to jam peg. It will be perfect if they can install in the rear wheel. And I hope it can be a little lighter, if there is an upgraded version in the future, a frame made of carbon fiber can make it lighter, although the price may rise as a result, but I am willing to pay for it.

S18 has three working modes, most people are probably using the automatic mode, which is a twist of the handle that will move forward. But I prefer to use pure riding mode in urban travel, which means no electric assistance at all. Use the booster mode when playing in the wild, which means that only when you step on the kickstand will have electric assistance. The latter two modes are definitely more beneficial to your health and can be more power efficient.

I think AOSTIRMOTOR S18 is suitable for two types of people to buy: the first one is those who like to ride in the fields and like to find excitement. If you need a Full suspension E-bike that is powerful and not too expensive, the S18 is quite suitable for you. Another type of person is someone who needs a comfortable E-bike for urban travel. You can also consider the S18. The AOSTIRMOTOR S18 is currently priced at $1499 on the official website. The 3-stage foldable design is quite convenient, which leads to a pretty fast and easy experience of both folding and unfolding. And thanks to the compact folding size and the lightweight body, it’s also convenient to store in the car trunk and won’t occupy much space. And there is a useful handle for riders to easily carry the bike in hand, regardless of its folding form. 

In addition to this, the A20 ebike also does a good job in other areas. For example, there is a USB charging port at the head of the bike, and a smartphone holder is included with the bike, so you can charge your phone or other electronic devices during your ride.

As an ebike, the performance of the motor determines its basic riding experience. Most competitors in the same price range add a 250W motor, while the ADO A20 ebike comes with a 350W motor. So compared to most ebikes running under 30Km/h, the A20’s unlocked maximum speed of 35Km/h makes it faster. 

The A20 has the Shimano 7-speed transmission and the 3-gear adjustable power assist. During our speed test, the unlocked A20 can still go up to a speed of 31km/h. Through the screen on the left side of the handle, riders can clearly monitor the essential bicycle information, including real-time speed, battery, mileage, and fault alerts.

The battery of the ebike is removable, so you can take it out and charge it separately. And of course, you can also charge the battery without removing it. ADO has claimed that the A20 ebike uses a high-efficiency energy recycling system. The fully-charged A20 ebike can run for 50-60km in pure electric mode or 80-100km in assisted mode.

And now let’s talk about the actual riding experience. Well, the model we experienced is the white edition. Although when we used it for urban riding it didn’t get dirty, we were still worried that it might easily get dirty on unpaved roads. So if you’re not in the habit of cleaning your bike, the black model would be better for you. 

Secondly, thanks to the multi-suspension system, the damping effect is excellent, and there is no problem passing some small steps. This is also the biggest surprise during the ride. Because many ebikes are only designed for urban uses and do not do well in terms of shock absorption. 

And the electric-assisted riding is pretty delightful. When the speed reached 5km/h under the first gear, the laborsaving assisted system would be activated automatically. The second and the third gears require the rider to manually twist the handle to activate the assisted power. And if you stop the bike, the assisted power will turn off immediately, which is pretty safe. 

To use electric-assisted power, it’s similar to the way we start a motorcycle. The rider needs to insert the key and twist it to activate the battery. The keyhole is under the frame, and cannot be pulled off during the electric riding. At first, I was worried if the key would fall off. But after a period of use, it proved that there was no reason for worry. It didn’t fall off even once during any of my rides on this bike.

Overall, the ADO A20 Ebike is a great product. There are almost no complaints about it. The battery life is excellent as an electric-assisted bicycle; the electric power-assisted system worked well for commuting uses, and the compact body makes it a wonderful extension to a regular car. But if I had to pick a downside, it would be the lack of refinement. The welds on the white body look strange but they should be much better on the black model. And that’s it for its drawbacks.

The bike will debut in May for only $769, which is much cheaper than other ebikes with similar performance. And most of them don’t even have any shock absorption.

So the ADO A20 ebike is still highly recommended. It’s never been so easy to have a bicycle tour. Now the eBike is giving you this option.
