Edifier has unveiled its latest bookshelf wireless speaker, the S1000W. The device supports WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, OPT, COX, and AUX connectivity with pretty affordable pricing. The Edifier S1000W has aluminum bass drivers and a titanium dome tweeter that delivers high-resolution audio. The wireless speaker can also pair with other units to deliver seamless sounds to all parts of the home.

The Edifier S1000W comes with a PC flanking form factor and delivers up to 120W of audio power from its bass and tweeter compartments. The titanium dome tweeter unit provides stunning dispersion, a smooth response rate, and superior sensitivity compared to plastic tweeters. The maximum noise level of the unit is 25dB with a 45-40,000 Hz frequency response. The S1000W is compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and TIDAL Connect, as well as Alexa (accessed through a third-party app).

The Edifier is not designed as a smart speaker and hence lacks voice assistant support. It is designed to appeal to those who value privacy and can sacrifice the voice assistant’s convenience. The Edifier S1000W has a starting price of $449.99 but it remains to be seen how the market responds to the offer.
