An AI-generated deepfake of Steve Jobs, the late co-founder of Apple, unveiling a “new” AI technology by the company has gone viral on social media platforms like Reddit and YouTube. 

Video content creator, Synthetic Voices on YouTube, had posted a recent video on their channel, titled “Steve Jobs on ChatGPT: The Future of AI Communication”.

The 1 minute 27 second audio used in the video was scripted by ChatGPT, the famously known language model developed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI and the voice of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, was read out by a machine-learning voice synthesizer, elevenlabs.io.

The advanced technology, which uses deep learning algorithms and a voice synthesizer, was able to mimic the speech and mannerisms of the iconic entrepreneur, leaving many onlookers convinced that Steve Jobs had returned from the dead.
