Oppo Ace2 EVA Edition has just been officially launched. The flagship smartphone has been released alongside 4 cool themed accessories, which are based around the iconic Anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The Oppo Ace2 EVA Edition is basically identical to the original Ace2, but with a unique aesthetical design based around the anime. It features the iconic color scheme of the series’ EVA (giant man controlled mechas/robots) with a purple primary on top of which angular green stripes and branding are etched. This design is also mirrored in the protective case that is also offered alongside the handset. Notably, the box in which the smartphone arrives in is also an easter egg in the form of a white capsule.

Alongside the smartphone, the Chinese tech giant is also offering a bunch of other limited edition peripherals. This includes an Enco W31 TWS earbuds, Oppo Air VOOC wireless charger, Oppo Watch, and a new Band as well. These products also feature unique aesthetics based around the show and are also available in limited quantities. The Oppo Ace2 EVA Edition is priced at 4,399 Yuan (roughly $614) and only has 10,000 units available.

The Oppo Enco W31 TWS earbuds will be available for 399 Yuan (roughly $55) while the Oppo Watch and Air VOOC Wireless Charger will go for 2,199 Yuan and 299 Yuan (roughly $307 and $41) respectively. Earlier today (13th April 2020), Oppo shared various videos regarding its new Enco W31 Truly wireless earbuds. It is the latest entry in the Enco series and is touted to be a Bluetooth earphone with one of the lowest delays in audio, with a latency of just 94ms.

Notably, Oppo has already launched the Enco W31 truly wireless earbuds in India back in March 2020. It is a pair of affordable TWS earphones and features a 13.4 mm ultra dynamic speaker system. The hearables are currently available in black, pink and white variants and features different modes like bass mode or even balanced mode.

However, one of its most notable features is undoubtedly its lower delay. For those unaware, Bluetooth earphones suffer from a major issue that plagues many wireless headsets. This issue is latency, which is the delay between the audio being outputted from the video or other sources and the sound actually being played in the speakers.

Any latency above 100ms is easier to notice, and sometimes during videos, one may notice a slight delay in audio with wireless earphones. The Oppo Enco W31, however, doesn’t suffer from this as severely. While 94ms is still not as responsive as wired headphones, it is still a notable improvement and users will not notice any delays during daily use.

OPPO VP Brain Shen recently confirmed that the company will be announcing the next Ace branded phone on April 13. Unlike the OPPO Reno Ace phone that debuted in October, the successor edition will not have “Reno” branding its name. Hence, it is expected to break cover as the OPPO Ace2. Today, the Chinese firm released the first teaser of the phone. Also, the company has revealed that the Enco W31 TWS will break cover alongside the Ace2.

While OPPO VP revealed some information on the Ace2, the social platforms of the company had not release any of its teasers. It appears that starting from today, the company will continue to tease the arrival of the Ace2 before its April 13 launch. Unfortunately, the first teaser has not revealed any details on the phone.

At the beginning of the previous month, OPPO had launched the Enco 31 TWS in India at the unveil event of the OPPO Reno3 Pro 4G. It was announced with a price tag of 4,499 INR (~$59).and color edition such as black, white and pink. OPPO Acoustics Weibo account has confirmed that the Enco 31 TWS will be also announce on April 13 in China and it will come in the same colors as it arrived in India.

OPPO Ace2 specifications

The OPPO Ace2 has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that offers full HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is expected to power the handset with up to 12 GB of RAM. The handset reached a score of 560K+ on AnTuTu benchmarks.

The phone may come with up to 256 GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for additional storage. It will be equipped with a dual-part battery. The minimum capacity of one of its cell is 1,955Ah. The phone will be arriving with support for 65W fast charging and 40W wireless charging.

The Ace2 will be loaded with Android 10 OS and ColorOS 7. The rear side of the device has a 48-megeapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera system. It has a frontal shooter of 16-megapixel.
