These chipsets will be seen in flagship phones next year, and in fact, some newly launched phones are already using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Now, it seems like it&#8217;s Samsung&#8217;s turn as today, it has officially revealed that its next Exynos processor dubbed <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/exynos-2200">Exynos 2200</a> will be announced in early January 2022.</p>
<h2><strong>Samsung Exynos 2200 Release Date and Specs </strong></h2>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-425316 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200.png?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="935" height="514" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200.png 935w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200-300x165.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200-768x422.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200-696x383.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/exynos-2200-764x420.png 764w" sizes="(max-width: 935px) 100vw, 935px" /></p>
<p>The Exynos 2200, Samsung&#8217;s in-house processor for flagship phones will be announced on January 11, 2022. The company has teased the new chipset with the hashtag #PlaytimeIsOver hinting at its performance. But unfortunately, the company has not revealed any explicit details about the processor.</p>
<p>What we know is that the company won&#8217;t be using a 4nm process like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but it may have the same 5nm process as seen in the Exynos 2100. This time around, the new Exynos 2200 will drive graphics from AMD&#8217;s RDNA2 GPU which is seen in PC and consoles. That said, it will come with impressive features like ray-tracing and variable rate shading.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PlaytimeIsOver?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PlaytimeIsOver</a>. The gaming marketplace is about to get serious. Stay tuned for the next <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Exynos?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Exynos</a> with the new GPU born from RDNA 2. <p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>The Exynos 2200 will be an octa-core chipset with one Cortex-X2 CPU core, three Cortex-A710 CPU cores, and four Cortex-A510 CPU cores. It is also expected to have an improved 5G modem, better image signal processing, and enhanced  AI processing.</p>
<p>It is evident that the Exynos 2200 will be in the upcoming Samsung flagships like the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s22">Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+</a>, and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s22-ultra">Galaxy S22 Ultra</a> in some markets. The rest of the markets including India and China will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered  Galaxy S22 units.</p>

<p>&mdash; Samsung Exynos (@SamsungExynos) <a href="https://twitter.com/SamsungExynos/status/1458339336772997122?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 10, 2021</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>It was <a href="http://gizmochina.com/2021/11/09/samsung-hint-nov-19-launch-exynos-amd-chip/">speculated earlier</a> that the processor may be launched on November 19th from a post on Instagram that read: “With gaming graphics continuing to evolve, let’s show you what entertainment will look like in the future. Everything changes on November 19, 2021.” The post had also included a new &#8216;#EverythingChanges&#8217; tag which many took as a reference to the Exynos 2200.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-424045 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121.png?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="800" height="461" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121.png 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121-300x173.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121-768x443.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121-696x401.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-121-729x420.png 729w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>The post was joined by another that seemingly pointed toward the AMD GPU that will be paired with the Exynos 2200. An excerpt from it read, &#8220;With gaming graphics continuing to evolve, let’s show you what entertainment will look like in the future.&#8221;</p>
<p>With references like these and the fact that both posts came from the official &#8216;@samsungexynos&#8217; Instagram handle, most were bound to think that they were related to the upcoming processor. So Samsung&#8217;s tweet denying the link did come as a surprise.</p>
<p>Nonetheless, Samsung&#8217;s upcoming Exynos 2200 chip will be paired with an AMD GPU which will be enabling raytracing support. It will will reportedly be built using the company’s 4nm process, and will feature one Cortex-X2 CPU core, three Cortex-A710 CPU cores, and four Cortex-A510 CPU cores.</p>
<p>The chip will likely be making its debut with the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/04/samsung-galaxy-s22-colors-leaked/">Samsung Galaxy S22 series</a> given its flagship status.</p>
