In July, a mysterious Samsung tablet with model number SM-T575 was spotted in a Geekbench listing. The tablet has now received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authorities. It reveals that the SM-T575 as well as other model numbers such as SM-T575N, SM-T570, SM-T577, and SM-T577U_DS all belong to the upcoming Galaxy Tab Active3 tablet. The moniker suggests that it will be replacing the Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet that went official in October 2017.

The Bluetooth certification has revealed that the Galaxy Tab Active3 supports Bluetooth 5.0. The SM-T575 and SM-T570 model numbers belong to the LTE and Wi-Fi only editions of the Tab Active3. The predecessor model had sported a ruggedized construction and a stylus. Apart from upgraded specs, the Tab Active3 could be coming with the same features.

The previously seen Geekbench listing had revealed that the tablet is equipped with Android 10 OS, 4 GB of RAM, and Exynos 9810 which fueled Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus, and Galaxy Note 9 flagship phones back in 2018.

The TUV Rheinland certification had also approved the EB-BT575BBE battery of the tablet. The certification revealed that the typical size of its battery is 5,000mAh battery. MySmartPrice managed to spot an image of the tablet in the database of the SafetyKorea certification platform. Like the predecessor model, the Tab Active3 can be seen with three physical buttons.

Samsung seems to be working on a new tablet called Galaxy Tab SM-T575. According to a Geekbench listing from May, it will be powered by Exynos 9810 SoC. Recently, the device’s battery also got certified by TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd.

The Exynos 9810 SoC debuted in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in 2018. Later, it was used in the Galaxy Note 9 in the same year. Then, in late 2019, the chip once again made an appearance inside Galaxy Xcover FieldPro.

It did not stop there as the chipset made a comeback with the Galaxy Note 10 Lite that launched earlier this year. Now, with this upcoming Galaxy Tab SM-T575, Samsung would be using the same chip for a total of 6 devices.

Further, according to the Geekbench listing, this forthcoming Samsung tablet will feature 4GB RAM and run Android 10. The device scored 285 and 1116 points in single-core and multi-core tests respectively.

On the other hand, as per certification by TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd., the device’s battery is rated at 4,900mAh, however, its typical value is mentioned as 5,050mAh.

That being said, going by the company’s model numbering, this particular version could be the LTE variant, whereas the WiFi-only model may have model number SM-T570.

The color variants of the Note 10 Lite include Aura Black, Aura Red and Aura Glow. The smartphone can be pre-ordered through Flipkart and Samsung’s online store starting from today. The sales of the phone will kick off from Feb. 3.

As far launch offer is concerned, Samsung is providing a discount of up to Rs. 5,000 for existing owners of Galaxy phones who purchase the new Galaxy Note 10 Lite smartphone.

The FCC certification of the S Pen for Galaxy Note 10 Lite reveals that it is a Bluetooth enable device and it features gyroscope. The latter will bring support for Air Actions (air gestures) on the Note 10 Lite. Its dimensions are identical with that of the S Pen that ships with Note 10 Lite as it measures 5.80 x 4.35 x 105.18mm.

The FCC documents of the S Pen has its external photos. Unfortunately, it is withheld until May next year. This could be a hint the Galaxy Note 10 Lite that is speculated to debut in December may actually break cover in the coming year. If it goes official in May 2020, it will be arriving well after the Note 10 series that went in August and around three months after the Galaxy S11 series that will be unveiled in February. Hence, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite seems to be Samsung’s strategy of boosting its sales by mid-2020.

Apart from the specs revealed through Geekbench, very few details are known on the specs of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The smartphone may continue to sport an Infinity-O notch display like the Galaxy Note 10 models, and it may come with a native storage of 128 GB.

Recently, Sammobile had claimed that the South Korean company may rebadge the Galaxy Note 10 Lite as Galaxy A81 in specific markets. The publication claimed that the SM-AN815F is the model number of the Galaxy A81. Samsung is known for denoting its Note series of phones with letter N in their model number. For instance, the Galaxy Note 10 has SM-N970 model number and the Galaxy Note 9 has SM-N960 model number. Hence, the inclusion of letter ‘N’ in Galaxy A81’s model number suggests that it could ship with an S Pen stylus and it could be a rebranded Note 10 Lite.

Master Lu, a smartphone benchmarking platform from China, has released the list of best smartphones for the first half of the year 2019. The list is led by Huawei P30 smartphone. Huawei P30 has acquired 157.28 points to gain the first position in Master Lu’s top 10 best smartphone. The second place Nubia Red Magic Mars smartphone with 154.88 points. Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 712 and Snapdragon 710 chipsets have respectively occupied seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions in the list.

Next comes the list of top 10 mobile phone UI which is led by Hydrogen OS by OnePlus followed by Joy UI on Black Shark gaming phones. The Nubia UI, EMUI by Huawei, Flyme by Meizu have made it to the top five. MIUI by Xiaomi ranks sixth, Smartisan OS is on seventh, ColorOS by OPPO is placed on eighth, One UI by Samsung is on ninth and Xperia UI by Sony is on tenth position.

A new Samsung phone with SM-G889F model number has been benchmarked on Geekbench. The smartphone is powered by the Exynos 9810 chipset. It is the very same SoC that fueled the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship phones last year. While the exact identity of the phone is not known yet, based on some past information it can be speculated that it could be the upcoming Galaxy S9 Active smartphone.

On Geekbench, the SM-G889F smartphone can be seen with Exynos 9810 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It is preloaded with Android 9 Pie OS. In the single-core test, the handset has recorded a score of 3,130. It has scored 9,050 in the multi-core test. A variant of the same phone with model number SM-G889A was certified by Wi-Fi Alliance in January this year.

In February, popular tipster Roland Quandt had shared a video clip of Samsung SM-G889. He had described the phone as the rugged Galaxy S9. It was speculated that it could be the Galaxy S9 Active smartphone. Contradictory information shared by tipster Ishan Agarwal suggests that it could be a new premium mid-range phone from the company that will arrive as a successor of the Galaxy A8s smartphone. He had also claimed that the phone could be priced between $500 and $600.

There is no fresh information available on the other specs of the alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 Active smartphone. Details that were leaked last year had revealed that it would be arriving with a 5.8-inch display that will offer quad HD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Unlike the S9 that featured a dual-edge curved display, the S9 Active may come with a flat display surrounded with thick bezels.

The handset may come with an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. It may feature a 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera setup. The primary sensor may come with f/1.5 – f/2.4 variable aperture. It may come equipped with a 4,000mAh battery.

It would have been ideal if the Galaxy S9 Active had arrived last year since the Galaxy S9 was made official in 2018. Hence, there is possibility that S9 Active may debut with a different moniker.

The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is still more than a week away. However, the rumor mill has already revealed plenty of information on the upcoming Samsung phablet. The latest leak has revealed the pricing of 128 GB and 512 GB storage editions of the Note 9 for the Indonesian market. The official names of the different color variants of the smartphone for the same region have also surfaced in this leak.

As it can be seen in the leaked promotional posters, the 128 GB and 512 GB storage versions of the Galaxy Note 9 are respectively priced at 13,500,000 Indonesian rupiah (~$937) and 17,500,000 Indonesian rupiah (~$1,215). There is no information available on whether the Indonesian market will be receiving the 64 GB model.

It seems that Indonesia will be receiving the Galaxy Note 9 in three color options in Indonesia such as Mystic Black, Engineered Blue and Artisan Copper. Through the promotional posters it has been also revealed that customers who pre-order the Note 9 will be receiving free Samsung TV. In other countries too, the South Korean company will offer some exciting pre-order gifts for the buyers of Note 9.

There is no information on the other specs of the Note 9 variant that will be landing in Indonesia. The rumors surrounding the smartphone have revealed that it will be equipped with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that produces 18.5:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The Exynos 9810 is likely to power the Note 9 variants that will be made available in international markets including Indonesia. The SoC will be coupled with 6 GB of RAM. However, the rumor mill has claimed that some markets may get its 8 GB RAM model.

The Note 9 is expected to inherit the same dual 12-megapixel camera setup with variable aperture that is available on the Galaxy S9+. A Bluetooth enabled S Pen with versatile features is expected to accompany the Note 9. A 4,000mAh battery will be present under the hood of the phablet.

Apple’s A11 Bionic is currently the most powerful processor in a mobile device. So far, none of the Android SoCs have been able to crush it in terms of performance. However, the gap just narrowed thanks to Samsung’s Exynos 9810 processor.

For the first time, an Android chipset has crossed the 4000 mark on Geekbench’s single-core test. The device used for the test is the Samsung Galaxy S9+.

The Galaxy S9+ scored 4004 points in the single core test. That’s super impressive for an android phone but it pales to that of the iPhone X. A search for benchmark results for Apple’s flagship device on Geekbench will present you with several results of the device crossing 4000 points.

It appears the Galaxy S9+ above is overclocked as the base frequency is 2.0GHz as against 1.79GHz of those with lower results. There is still 6GB of RAM on board though. The multi-core test score is also pretty high at 10012.

The Exynos 9810 will make another appearance in the Galaxy Note 9 scheduled to arrive next month. It already appeared on Geekbench but the scores aren’t as impressive.

The design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is not a big secret as recent reports have revealed its appearance would be very similar to the Galaxy Note 8 from last year. Fresh renders of the Note 9 have surfaced today to reveal its front and rear design.

As it can be seen in the new images, the Galaxy Note 9 features a dual edge curved screen with slim bezels at the top and bottom like the Galaxy Note 8. The major change in the design of the Note 9 is the repositioning of the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint scanner was placed awkwardly besides the horizontal dual camera.

On the Note 9, the fingerprint reader is placed below the horizontal dual camera unit. The case shows the presence of buttons for volume and Bixby on the left and a power key on the right.

Samsung will be bringing design changes on the Galaxy S10 as it will be arriving as the 10^th anniversary Galaxy S smartphone from the company. The Note 10 arriving later in 2019 is likely to sport an enhanced design too.

Coming back to the Galaxy Note 9, it will be arriving with some improved internals. Leaks that have surfaced in the past few months have revealed specs like 6.4-inch S-AMOLED Infinity Display, Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of RAM, dual camera with variable aperture and 4,000mAh battery. There could be an 8 GB RAM variant with 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage.

The S Pen stylus of the Note 9 is expected to carry support for Bluetooth connectivity that will make it possible to use it to do non-stylus related tasks like controlling music playback and long-range selfie timer.

It is speculated that since the upcoming Note 9 has a similar design with advanced specs, Samsung may kill the sales of Galaxy Note 8. In fact, retailers are reportedly clearing up the current stock of the Note 8. The Galaxy Note 9 is slated to get unveiled on Aug. 9. It is speculated the Gear S4 smartwatch may also get unveiled at the same event.

Roughly two months after the Snapdragon variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 appeared on Geekbench, it has now been followed by the Exynos variant.

This year’s Galaxy Note will be powered by the Exynos 9810 – the same SoC in the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The octa-core chipset is clocked at 1.79GHz as seen below. Geekbench also revealed the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and has 6GB 0f RAM.

For the single-core test, the device scored 2737 points while the multi-core test score is 9064 points. That is slightly higher than the 2190 and 8806 points scored by the Snapdragon 845 variant. This shouldn’t be surprising as the Exynos variants of Samsung’  flagships are known to offer better performance than the Qualcomm variants.

Last night, Samsung “unpacked” its latest flagships – the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ and the internet has not stopped talking about them.

While most people are focused on the looks and the cameras, it is what is under the hood that interests those of us who are more tech savvy.

Like its predecessors, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ come in two variants – an Exynos powered version which will be available internationally and a Snapdragon variant for the US market. However, it is said that only the Exynos 9810 variant was on display yesterday.

Phonearena got to play with a unit and ran some benchmark tests to see how Samsung’s latest chipset performs and the results are nothing short of outstanding.

We already saw some benchmark results before the phone launched though but these cover all the major benchmark tests.

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 scores a total of 241470 on AnTuTu. It even surpasses the iPhone X (Bionic A11) with over 15000 points. The Snapdragon 835-powered LG V30 comes in at number 4 with 174456. As we already know, Snapdragon 845 phones seen on AnTuTu like the Mi MIX 2S have a much higher score.

For graphics (GFXBench Manhattan), the Galaxy S9 doesn’t do badly. It comes after the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus but is just two points ahead of the Galaxy S8.

However, it does score high on Geekbench. Its single-core score is over 3000 points. It is still below the iPhone X but it leaves the Snapdragon 835 in the dust. It also recorded 8750 points in the multi-core test.

It is safe to say that the Exynos 9810 Galaxy S9 can handle anything thrown at it. It boasts a significant upgrade over its predecessors and over last year’s competitors. So if you are looking for one more reason to purchase it, you’ve got it up there.

Last week, the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S9 was seen on Geekbench. It scored high on the benchmark site, even surpassing the Snapdragon variant of its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S9+.

Earlier today, the Exynos-variant of the Galaxy S9+ was seen on the site and its scores even outshines that of the Galaxy S9 powered by the same chipset. Though this is expected as the S9+ packs an extra 2GB of RAM.

Benchmarked as the samsung SM-G965F, the device is shown to run Android 8.0.0. It is powered by the Exynos 9810, Samsung’s most powerful mobile chipset till date and it is paired with 6GB of RAM.

The SoC’s clockspeed is recorded as 1.95GHz which is higher than the 1.79GHz of the Exynos-powered Galaxy S9 and 1.77GHz of the Snapdragon 845-powered Galaxy S9+.

For its single core test, the phone scored 3773 points, and for multi-core, it recorded 9024 points. This is a significant boost over last year’s Exynos 8895 Galaxy S8+.

The Galaxy S8+ recorded 2159 and 7235 average single-core and multi-core scores respectively. So you see this is no small improvement.

The same can be said for the Exynos-powered Galaxy S9 too. The Galaxy S8 (Exynos 8895) has an average single-core score of 1950 and an average multi-core score of 6400. Compare that to 3648 and 8894 scores of the Exynos 9810 Galaxy S9 and you know Samsung isn’t here to play.

The Exynos 9810 version of the S9 duo will be the one available internationally while the Snapdragon 845 variant will be sold in the US. Both variants will be announced at MWC 2018 on Sunday.

The Feb. 25 launch event of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ is drawing near. Previous leaks have revealed that the Snapdragon 845 chipset powered Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones will be heading to markets like the U.S. and China. The Exynos 9810 chipset variants of the Galaxy S9 duo are expected to be available in other markets. The Snapdragon 845 chipset model of the Galaxy S9+ was recently spotted on Geekbench. Today, the same smartphone has been found benchmarked on AnTuTu.

Previous reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a model number of SM-G9600 whereas the larger Galaxy S9+ has a model number of SM-G9650. Hence, the Samsung SM-G9650 found listed on AnTuTu could be the Galaxy S9+ smartphone.

The below shown screengrab of the SM-G9650’s AnTuTu listing shows that the smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of 64 GB and is pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo.

The screen resolution of the Galaxy S9+ as shown on AnTuTu listing is 2220 x 1080 pixels. It is actually the default screen resolution supported by the display of the S9+. The rumored 6.2-inch S-AMOLED Infinity Display of S9+ will capable of supporting a higher screen resolution of 2960 x 1440 like its predecessor.

The AnTuTu listing of the Galaxy S9+ has also revealed that it has recorded a very impressive average benchmarking score of 265,257. The Exynos 9810 chipset variant is said to be a bit more powerful than SD845 model. There is a possibility that the AnTuTu listing of the Exynos 9810 Galaxy S9+ may surface in the next few days.

Samsung will be debuting the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on Feb. 25 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung had launched the Exynos and Snapdragon chipset variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in 2017. This year too the Galaxy S9 duo are expected to arrive in Exynos and Snapdragon SoC variants. Today, the Exynos 9810 chipset driven Galaxy S9 has appeared on Geekbench. It has outperformed the Snapdragon 845 powered Galaxy S9 on the benchmarking site.

The model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were revealed in the previous month through their appearance at the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) in the U.S. The SM-G960 and SM-G965 are the respective model numbers of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The SM-G960F that has now appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform is the single-SIM edition of the Galaxy S9 that could be heading to the Europe. This model is fueled by 1.79 GHz universal9810 octa-core processor which is nothing but the newly introduced Exynos 9810 SoC.

On single-core test, the Galaxy S9 with Exynos 9810 chipset has scored 3648. It has recorded a score of 8894 in the multi-core test. The Galaxy S9 can be seen running on Android 8.0 and the SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM.

On the other side, the SM-G9650 Galaxy S9+ powered by Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM has scored 2214 and 8296 respectively on single-core and multi-core tests in Geekbench. Like the S9, the S9+ is also running on Android 8.0. Despite featuring 6 GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 845 driven S9 has failed to outperform the S9 with Exynos 9810 and 4 GB of RAM.

The Exynos 9810 is a second-generation 10nm chipset from Samsung that includes four cores of Exynos M3 that clocks at 2.9 GHz and four cores of Exynos M3 that works at 1.3 GHz. The SoC includes ARM Mali G72 MP 18 graphics. It includes Cat. 18 LTE modem that supports of 1.2 Gbps download speed.

The Snapdragon 845 is a second-generation 10nmm chipset from Qualcomm. It comprises of eight cores of Kryo 385 that delivers a clocking speed of up to 2.8 GHz. It features Adreno 630 graphics and Snapdragon X120 LTE modem that is also capable of producing maximum download speeds of 1.2 Gbps.

Samsung has finally announced the Exynos 9810 as its next-generation Exynos 9 series chipset. It is the second generation 10nm chipset from the company designed for smartphones and smart devices. It is packed with third-generation custom processor, enhanced LTE modem that delivers faster gigabit connectivity, topnotch image processing and deep learning capabilities.

The Exynos 9810 is an octa-core processor that includes four third-generation custom cores and four cores that are optimized for delivering efficient performance. The octa-core processor can produce a maximum clocking speed of 2.9 GHz. Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 9810 is capable of delivering twofold single-core performance and it also offers 40 percent better multi-core performance.

The neural network-based deep learning and robust security offered by the Exynos 9810 allow smartphones powered by this chipset to easily identify people and objects in photos for depth sensing or for quickly performing image search. It supports hybrid facial detection by scanning a user’s face in 3D. Hybrid face detection that relies on both hardware and software offers realistic face-racking filters and also a very secure way to unlock a device by scanning the user’s face. The Exynos 9810 also supports iris and fingerprint identification for protecting personal data.

The LTE modem made available in the new Exynos chipset will allow users to stream or broadcast content with up to 4K resolution and newer media like 360-degree video. The Cat.18 LTE modem supports a maximum download speed of 1.2 Gbps. It the industry Cat. 18 LTE modem to support 6x carrier aggregation for 1.2 Gbps download and 200 Mbps upload speeds. It also supports 4×4 MIMIO and 256-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation scheme.

With a dedicated image processing and upgraded multi-format codec (MFC) available on the Exynos 9810, users will be able to enjoy immersive multimedia experience. Hence, smartphones powered with the Exynos 9810 will be able to shoot highly stable videos of up to 4K resolution, brighter photos in dim light conditions and real-time out-of focus photography. It also supports playback of 4K videos at 120fps.

Samsung has begun the mass production of the Exynos 9810 chipset. Through its press release, the South Korean company proudly boasts that the Exynos 9810 has been selected as a CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2018 Innovation Awards HONOREE in the category for Embedded Technologies product. The Exynos 9810 will be showcased at CES 2018 between Jan. 9 to 12 in Las Vegas, US.

The upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ models heading to the U.S. and China are rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. However, the rest of the world is heavily rumored to receive the Exynos 9810 powered variants of the Galaxy S9 duo.

Based on the few details available, the Exynos 9810 will be a 10nm chip like its predecessor, the Exynos 8895. It will have 6CA support, a first for the mobile industry and will come with 3rd-gen custom CPU cores, an upgraded GPU and gigabit LTE.

The Exynos 9810 will first appear in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ before making its way into the Galaxy Note9 later in the year.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ will be arriving as a larger sibling alongside the Galaxy S9 in the first quarter of 2018. Plenty of leaks that have surfaced in the recent weeks after revealed a lot about the specs and features of the Galaxy S9+. Today, @OnLeaks who holds a consistent track record on revealing leaked information of forthcoming phones has revealed 360-degree renders of the Galaxy S9+ in collaboration with MySmartPrice. These renders are said to be created based on the CAD images that have reportedly leaked from Samsung.

The Galaxy S8+ that has a 6.2-inch S-AMOLED display measure 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1mm. According to the leaked information shared by the tipster along with the new renders, the Galaxy S9+ measures 157.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm and it features a 6.1-inch display. It indicates that the Galaxy S9+ will be slightly smaller and thicker than the S8+. This could mean that the Galaxy S9+ may feature a larger battery than its predecessor.

What’s interesting about the Galaxy S9+ is that it features a vertically stacked dual camera setup on its back panel. Hence, the Galaxy S9+ will become the first Galaxy S series phone to feature dual rear cameras. According to @OnLeaks, the smaller Galaxy S9 would be coming with a single-rear facing camera.

The Galaxy S8 that was released earlier this year features 148.9 x 68.1 x 8mm and it houses a 5.8-inch S-AMOLED display. However, the fresh renders show that the Galaxy S9 would be measuring 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4mm. This shows that the Galaxy S9 is slightly smaller and thicker than its predecessor. The video claims that it will be housing a 5.65-inch display. Like the S8, the display of the S9 are curved towards the right and left edges.

Galaxy S8 users do not like the placement of the fingerprint scanner as they end up touching the camera sensor while unlocking the phone. The renders of the S9 suggests that Samsung has heard the feedback of its fans as the fingerprint scanner appears to be repositioned below the rear camera.

Multiple rumors have claimed that the Galaxy S9 would be featuring dual rear cameras. However, its renders reveal that the dual camera feature will be exclusively available on the Galaxy S9+. The Power button is on the right side of the S9 whereas the Bixby button and volume rocker are on the left. The S9 will be also borrowing other features like 3.5mm audio jack, iris scanner, USB-C port, and IP68 rated chassis from the S8.

The Galaxy S9 driven by Snapdragon 845 chipset may arrive in the U.S. whereas the other markets may receive the Exynos chipset (could be Exynos 9810) variant. It may feature 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It is expected to come loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo.

Meizu hasn’t been able to make its mark in the smartphone market this year. Though the company has not launched many devices this year, looking at the sale of its previously launched devices, there is nothing much to talk about.

However, it seems that all that is about to change. According to the reports, the company is gearing up to launch six new smartphones in the first half of 2018.

Also, there are reports which suggests that the China-based smartphone manufacturer is also ditching MediaTek and five of those upcoming six phones from the company will pack Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon processor while one will come with Samsung‘s Exynos processor.

Meizu will be completing 15 years of existence next year and to celebrate its anniversary, the company is said to release a special edition phone. The smartphone, which is named Meizu 15 Plus, is scheduled for Spring launch.

Recently, the phone’s image leaked online, giving us the first look at the upcoming smartphone, as well as revealing the device’s pricing information.

The leaked image reveals that the phone will feature a full-screen display with tri-bezel-less design, similar to that of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. Apart from the display, the front panel also embeds a camera sensor on the lower bezel.

While most bezel-less designed smartphones features fingerprint scanner at the back of the device, mainly due to spacing issues, Meizu has decided to keep the fingerprint sensor in its usual position — on the front panel, at the centre of the bottom bezel.

The Meizu 15 Plus will come with dual rear cameras positioned vertically in the middle. Below the camera sensors, there is a flash and laser focus module in a ring design, similar to that of Meizu PRO 6. There is also the Meizu branding below the camera setup and an antenna line at the bottom.

The smartphone is expected to come powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9810 processor. However, no more information related to the phone’s specifications is available at this moment.

The leaked image reveals two pricing for the phone, which indicates that there will be be variants of the device based on memory configuration. The top-end variant, which will be more expensive, will be priced at 3,499 Yuan (approximately $528) while the base models is expected to be available for 2,999 Yuan (approximately $453).

In July, a smartphone labelled as Samsung SM-G9650 had appeared on Geekbench. The aforementioned model number suggested that it could be the upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone. Now, a Samsung phone with model number SM-G965F has emerged on the benchmarking site. It is speculated that it could be the forthcoming Galaxy S9+ flagship.

The appearance of the alleged Galaxy S9+ on the benchmarking platform suggests that Samsung could be testing it now as it is rumored to get unveiled in the first quarter of 2018. According to Geekbench listing, the Samsung SM-G965F is running on Android 8.0 Oreo.

It is driven by “universal9810” chipset. This indicates that it could be powered by the newly announced Exynos 9810 chipset. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. On Geekbench, the alleged Galaxy S9+ has scored 1191 in single-core test and 3835 in multi-core test.

The Exynos 9810 chipset by Samsung is now official. The Exynos 8895 chipset that is present under the hood of 2017 flagship smartphones by Samsung such as Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 is the first generation 10nm chipset from the company. The newly Exynos 9810 has been introduced as the second generation 10nm chipset.

Samsung’s latest press release states that 36 of its products will be receiving Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 Innovation Awards. The new Exynos 9810 chipset is also included in the list of products that will be awarded in mid-January.

The exact configuration of the Exynos 9819 chipset is not available. However, the company has stated that the chipset belongs to the Exynos 9 Series family. It features third-generation custom CPU cores and it also includes ARM Mail-G71 GPU that is also available on the Exynos 9810.

The Cat. 18 gigabit 6CA LTE modem is capable of reaching maximum download speeds of 1.2 Gbps. The 5CA modem available on the Exynos 8895 can reach a peak download speed of 1 Gbps. Samsung is expected to reveal the exact specifications of the Exynos 9810 in the near future.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset will be powering the flagship smartphones that will be releasing in 2018. Some rumors have claimed that it would be built with 7nm FinFET manufacturing process. Fresh information suggest that Qualcomm may unleash the Snapdragon 845 chipset before the end of this year. It will be reportedly built with 10nm FinFET technology.

The Snapdragon 835 chipset that is built with 10nm FinFET technology powers various flagship smartphones of this year. The Snapdragon 845 that is expected to power 2018 flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7, Xiaomi Mi 7 and so on is rumored as the second-generation 10nm chipset from Qualcomm.

One should be aware of the fact that the U.S.-based chip maker has not confirmed on the “845” moniker. However, few months ago, a reference of “SDM845” was found on one of the documents that Qualcomm had submitted to ITC while filing a case against Apple.

The South Korean company has recently announced that its 8nm FinFET LPP process is now ready for production. The company is expected to introduce 7nm EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) lithography technology in the second half of 2018. Rumors have it that the Galaxy S9 duo will be also available in Exynos 9810 chipset models.  The new chipset that is expected to arrive with AI capabilities is rumored to be built with 7nm or 8nm process.

As far as Snapdragon 845 is concerned, it is speculated to arrive with updated Kryo cores. Its enhanced Adreno graphics is expected to be optimized for AR, VR and XR. The Kirin 970 chipset that powers the new Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones is coupled with a neural processing unit (NPU) for handling AI capabilities. The neural engine processing cores from the Apple A11 Bionic chipset is meant to handle machine learning algorithms on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X. However, there is no confirmation on the AI capabilities of Snapdragon 845.

Recent reports have revealed that Google has included a custom chip called Pixel Visual Core for improving photography experience independently of the Snapdragon 835 SoC that powers the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL chipsets. Rumors have it that Samsung is too working on a dedicated neural engine co-processor for its upcoming Exynos chipset.

According to a new report on Korea Herald, the South Korean company has invested huge money on DeePhi Tech, a startup from China that specializes in deep learning technologies. In October 2016, the South Korean company had invested $30 million on a UK-based Ai tech firm called Graphcore.

DeePhi Tech that was founded in 2016 has an impressive list of clients such as Amazon Web Services, MediaTek, Xilinx and Samsung. It is because of its neural network compression technology and neural network hardware architecture that major companies have shown interest in investing on it. SK Telecom, a leading carrier from South Korea has also shown interest in investing on the Chinese startup.

Deep Neural Network Development Kit (DNNDK) is a deep learning software development kit provided by the Chinese firm that can streamline and accelerate deep learning applications. Reports suggest that the South Korean company is interested in neural AI chips for speech recognition, neural language processing and things of that nature. Hence, there is a possibility that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S9 may include a dedicated neural AI chip alongside the Exynos 9810.

An insider revealed on Weibo that next year’s Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will launch with an Exynos 9810 that will have CDMA network support. He however didn’t mention if there will no longer be Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S Series anymore.

When Samsung launches a new flagship, it usually comes in two versions: an Exynos powered variant and a Snapdragon variant. One of the major reasons for having a Qualcomm variant is because a large part of the CDMA technology used by cellular networks such as Sprint and Verizon is owned by Qualcomm.

If there will be no more Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S series, then it means they both have reached an agreement in relation to CDMA patents issue. It may also mean Samsung will be able to sell its chips to third party OEMs.

Earlier this year, Taiwan’s fair Trade Commission accused Qualcomm of abusing the “Standard Essential Patent” by preventing Samsung from selling its chipsets and modems to other smartphone companies. Irrespective of the licensing issue between them, Samsung still made the Snapdragon 835 chip for Qualcomm. However, Qualcomm is moving to TSMC for the production of the Snapdragon 845.

Apart from the reveal of the flagship Exynos chip, he also mentions that the Galaxy Note 8 will launch with a Snapdragon 836. The new chip will offer an improvement in performance over the Snapdragon 835.

The Exynos 9810, just like the Snapdragon 835 is stated as being built using the 10nm process. It will feature four Mongoose M2 cores and four Cortex A53 cores. GPU will be a Mali-G71 clocked at 550MHz but the chip will still not have full network support.

A Korean media says the Exynos 9810 will give the Snapdragon 835 a run for its money by offering better performance and better power consumption but its lack of support for a wide range of network will be its shortcoming.
