Spy images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S11 have just surfaced online, revealing quite a few key design elements of the smartphone. This is the first time the device was seen in the flesh. However, since it was covered by a leakproof case preventing the entire exterior from becoming public.

The two leaked images showcase a protruding rear camera setup, which is in line with previous reports claiming that the rear camera hump adds 1.1mm thickness to the S11’s body. The Galaxy S11 is likely to feature a wide camera cutout, which should leave a considerable gap between the phone and the surface on which it rests. The hump is an unavoidable part of the design, as the Galaxy S11 accommodates a 108-megapixel primary sensor along with a telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom.

What is Known About the Samsung Galaxy S11 So Far…

According to the latest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S11+ is likely to sport a massive 5,000 mAh battery. This is a major update over the existing Galaxy S10+, which sports a 4,100 mAh battery. The increase in battery capacity perfectly complements the additional energy requirements of the display, which is expected to offer a 120Hz refresh rate. Staying in tune with the S11 series, the S11e is also slated to feature a bigger battery, as Samsung is likely to introduce a display with a 90Hz refresh rate on the device.

The Galaxy S11 is slated to arrive in two variants. One with the recently-unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, and the other with the Exynos 990 (Exynos 9830). Both chipsets are 5G-enabled and feature up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of native storage depending on the variant. Unlike the Exynos 990, Qualcomm confirmed that the SD865 does not feature a built-in 5G modem. Samsung reportedly plans to introduce the Snapdragon variant in the Asian market, including Malaysia and India. The company previously sold flagships with Exynos processors in the region.

The Galaxy S11 is also likely to sport wireless charging, IP68 certification, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung is currently working on its upgraded UI, One UI 2.0, which should also make an appearance on the S11. The smartphone will run on Android 10 out-of-the-box. Samsung will offer the Galaxy S11 with both 4G and 5G compatibility, instead of only offering 5G.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Price and Availability (Rumored)

Keeping up with its tradition, Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy S11 lineup in February 2020. The devices are expected to hit the showrooms by March. There is no word on pricing yet. However, rumors suggest that the S11 series will be priced similarly to the S10 range. While the 8GB + 128GB of the Galaxy S10 was priced at $899.99, the 8GB + 512GB variant sported a $1149.99 price tag. Even though Samsung might stick to the same prices, it is better to anticipate higher pricing. Viewers are requested to read the information with a pinch of salt, as Samsung is yet to officially confirm any of these claims.

Samsung will be debuting the Galaxy S11 series in February 2020. With few months remaining for the launch, the rumor mill is actively revealing key information on the Galaxy S11 lineup. The CAD renders of the Galaxy S11e and Galaxy S11 were revealed recently. Today, a variant of the Galaxy S11 that has a model number of SM-G968B has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing reveals that it is fueled by Exynos 9830.

Few weeks ago, Samsung had launched the Exynos 990 flagship chipset integrated with 5G modem. The chipset is internally being referred to as Exynos 9830 by Samsung. The same can be seen on the Geekbench 5 listing of the Galaxy S11. The alphabet ‘B’ in the SM-G986B model number suggests that it could be a Boost Mobile carrier variant of the Galaxy S11.

The Geekbench 5 listing of the smartphone reveals that it is running on the latest Android 10 OS. Moreover, it is equipped with 12 GB of RAM. The handset has respectively scored 427 and 2326 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of the benchmarking platform.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Specifications (Rumored)

The Galaxy S11 series could be featuring a 6.4-inch Galaxy S11e, 6.7-inch Galaxy S11 and 6.9-inch Galaxy S11+ phones. As Blass had revealed, that the two smaller editions come in 4G LTE and 5G editions, but the largest model will have come with 5G support. Also, the S11 models are expected to sport curved-edge displays. A recent report had claimed that the S11 and probably S11+ phones will carry support for 120Hz refresh rate. As renders have revealed these devices have top-center positioned punch-hole displays.

While some markets will receive the Exynos 9830 edition of the Galaxy S11 series, other markets will be receiving the Snapdragon SoC variants. When it comes to photography, the Galaxy S11 could be equipped with quadruple rear cameras with 108-megapixel main lens and a 48-megapixel sensor. The S11 is expected to carry support for 10x loseless zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. Also, the S11 is rumored to arrive with 25W fast charging technology. It is speculated that the Galaxy S11 phones will go official on Feb. 11.

There are speculations that this may be the new flagship processor that will power the Galaxy S11 series scheduled for 2020. That processor is expected to arrive as the Exynos 9830.

The Exynos 9820 was announced in the second week of November 2018. While the date for this launch has not been revealed yet, it is still not far off the mark to assume it is a flagship processor that will be announced.

Yet, others say this chipset may be the Exynos 9630, a new processor that will power the 2020 Galaxy A series. Back in August, unconfirmed camera specs for the 2020 Galaxy A series leaked but there was no mention of the processor in any of these devices.

If it turns out that it is indeed a mid-range processor then it may be built on a smaller node size compared to the recently announced Exynos 9611 which is built on the 10nm node.

Even with a new mid-range processor, Samsung will definitely still use some of Qualcomm’s own processors for its phone. We can expect successors to the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80 to come with Snapdragon processors.
