However, there are not so many stories to tell about the glasses as they don&#8217;t feature the much-touted Augmented Reality (AR) capability.  Instead, you get stylish, prescription-compliant glasses that cram a dual-lens video camera.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-411384" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban.png?x23692" alt="Facebook and Ray-Ban’s smart glasses" width="715" height="545" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban.png 715w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-300x229.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-696x531.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-551x420.png 551w" sizes="(max-width: 715px) 100vw, 715px" /></a></p>
<p>The glasses, called the Ray-Ban Stories bear little relationship to the well-known Facebook branding other than the packaging. There seem to be no other branding of Facebook on the product apart from the box.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Rayban-Stories.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-411469" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Rayban-Stories.jpg?x23692" alt="Rayban stories" width="660" height="372" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Rayban-Stories.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Rayban-Stories-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></a></p>
<p>The new products have been hyped previously as a great addition to the growing product lineup of Facebook, combining Facebook’s design philosophy with Ray-Ban’s excellent production record to produce devices with greater functionality and features. As was stated by Facebook CEO previously, the new smart glasses may be an intermediate offering as we inch towards full augmented reality in the nearest future. There will be more advanced models that are already in the pipeline with greater AR credentials and functionality.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-411386" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3.jpg?x23692" alt="" width="4096" height="3136" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3.jpg 4096w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-300x230.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-768x588.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-1024x784.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-696x533.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-1068x818.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-549x420.jpg 549w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-3-1920x1470.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 4096px) 100vw, 4096px" /></a></p>
<p>The Ray-ban Stories will come in three options: Wayfarer, Meteor, and Round. Buyers also have the option of choosing the type of lenses they want with options ranging from sunglasses, clear lenses to prescription lenses. They are all equipped with a dual 5MP camera setup that can capture up to 500 photos and over thirty 30-second video clips. The battery charges via a USB-C port and will fully charge in an hour. A full charge can last for up to 6 hours.</p>
<p>The product carries a price tag of $299 and will go on sale from today via Ray-Ban stores and on Ray-Ban&#8217;s website. The glasses will also be available at Luxottica Retail locations including Sunglass Hut and Lens Crafters from September 14.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-411387" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4.jpg?x23692" alt="" width="3032" height="1344" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4.jpg 3032w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-300x133.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-768x340.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-1024x454.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-696x309.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-1068x473.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-948x420.jpg 948w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/facebook-rayban-4-1920x851.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3032px) 100vw, 3032px" /></a></p>
<p>At the launch, Andrew Bosworth, vice president of Facebook Reality Labs in a statement explained that &#8220;Ray-Ban Stories is designed to help people live in the moment and stay connected to the people they are with and the people they wish they were with.&#8221;</p>
<p>Global availability details are also expected to be released in due course. We expect a decent reception for the long-awaited Facebook and Ray-Ban’s smart glasses.</p>
