OPPO is rumored to be working on a new foldable Android flagship, the “Find N3,” which is expected to be even more powerful than its predecessor. Furthermore, the smartphone is reported to have a significant camera upgrade. The device is likely to resemble the Find X6 Pro, with the same specs as some of the top-end devices in its category.

OPPO’s latest device, the Find N2 foldable phablet, boasts high-end mobile camera features such as a 50MP main camera, a 32MP telephoto lens, in-house MariSilicon X NPU, and Hasselblad branding. However, the rumored Find N3 is said to surpass the 32MP telephoto shooter of the Find N2 with a massive upgrade.

In 2023, some foldable devices, including the Find N3, the Huawei Mate X3, and a mysterious third device, are expected to join the periscope zoom lens trend along with top-end iPhones. he periscope lens, which allows for a longer optical zoom, is a game-changer for smartphone photography. With the help of a folded lens design, the periscope camera can fit a longer zoom into a smaller space, resulting in a much higher zoom without digital cropping.

The Find N3, reportedly with the model number “PHN110”, is expected to maintain its camera upgrade in a similar bump to the Huawei Mate X3. Additionally, the Find X6 Pro is also rumored to have a new round main camera housing with its own periscope lens, leading to speculations that the Find N3 and Find X6 Pro may share this feature, as was the case with the X5 Pro and N2. The Find N2 features a Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, with the Adreno 730 GPU. One thing is for sure – the Oppo Find N3 will launch with significantly higher specifications in the future, but all we have right now are leaks and rumors to fall back on.

Oppo Find N2 & Find N2 Flip flagship foldable phones launched in China

Oppo has just announced its latest generation of foldable smartphones in its home country of China. The two new foldable phones include the Find N2 and the Find N2 Flip. The former is a direct successor to the original Find N, while the latter is a new Flip model. So let’s have a look.

Oppo Find N2

The Find N2 is the higher end model between the two and features a dual display setup. The foldable smartphone has a notebook like inward folding design for its primary display while the external panel is a smaller regular screen. The rear sports a triple camera setup on the rear, with the Hasselblad branding. The dimensions of the design include 132.2×72.6×14.6mm and it weighs the 237 grams.

The primary display is a tall 7.1 inch 120HZ LTPO display that has a 1920 x 1792p resolution, while the outer panel is a 5.54 inch panel with a Full HD+ resolution. Both of these are AMOLED displays and support HDR10+. Under the hood, the Find N2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that will be paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The new flagship foldable phone will be powered by a 4,520mAh battery pack that supports up to 67W fast charging.

On the rear, the Find N2 features a triple camera setup that consists of a 50 megapixel primary Sony IMX890 sensor, paired with a 48 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 32 megapixel telephoto shooter that offers 2x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the front houses a 32 megapixel dual camera setup, with the two 32 megapixel selfie cameras being housed in both the internal and external display. This device also houses the company’s proprietary ISP, which is the MariSilicon X that was co developed with Hasselblad. The device also runs on Android 13 OS based ColorOS 13 out of the box.

Oppo Find N2 Flip

The Chinese smartphone maker didn’t just launch a successor to the Find N, but even launched its very own Flip model as well. Similar to the Moto Razr or the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the company has launched a clamshell like folding handset. The foldable phone also has twin displays, but the cover display offers fewer functionalities like notification browsing and acting as a camera viewfinder for both the front and rear cameras. There are various other functions as well, but the main highlight of this phone is undoubtedly its flip folding screen.

The main screen is a 6.8 inch 120Hz AMOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution, HDR10+, and DCI P3 color gamut, while the external panel is a much smaller 2.26 inch 60Hz OLED display that has a 720p resolution. The dimensions of this device are 166.2×75.2×7.45mm and it weighs just 191 grams. Under the hood, this device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC that is paired with a either 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

For optics, this device offers a 50 megapixel primary camera that is paired with an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. On the other hand, the front houses a 32 megapixel selfie shooter on the internal display. Similar to the Find N2, this model also houses the MariSilicon X for improved camera performance. The device is powered by a 4,300mAh battery pack that support 44W fast charging.

The Find N2 arrives in multiple color variants, which includes a matte white and a green model with a glass back while there is a black option as well, but with a vegan leather material. The Find N2 Flip is confirmed to be released in the global market soon, although, the company has yet to reveal the official release date for both models in the Chinese market.

Oppo Find N2 and Find N2 Flip are also set to go official at 4 pm (local time) Dec. 15 through the company’s INNO Day 2022 event. Earlier today, Oppo released a teaser video to reveal the design of its upcoming foldable phones.

The teaser video gives a glimpse of the design of the Find N2 duo. Another image that is now doing the rounds on Weibo reveals that the Find N2’s inner display will have a punch-hole at the top-left corner. The Find N2 Flip, on the other hand, will have a center punch-hole. Both devices seem to have very slim bezels around their foldable displays. These devices seem to feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. It can be seen that the Find N2 Flip has a SIM card slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille on the bottom edge.

According to reports, the Oppo Find N2 features a foldable 7.1-inch E6 AMOLED 120Hz display with a resolution of 1920 x 1792 pixels. The N2 will have a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and a 4,520mAh battery with 67W rapid charging support.

On the inside, the Find N2 will feature a 32-megapixel camera. It will sport a 32-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. The primary camera on the back of the handset is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 lens with optical image stabilization. Oppo is known for holding its INNO Day event, a platform for showcasing tech innovations, in December. Reports have claimed that the company is now gearing up for INNO Day 2022. However, it has not confirmed the dates yet. Panda is Bald revealed today that the event will take place on Dec. 14 and will feature the introduction of new foldables.

The tipster claimed that the Oppo INNO Day 2022 will take place on Dec. 14, and the next day, on Dec. 15, the company will take off the covers from the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip.

OPPO unveiled the OPPO Find N as its first foldable phone in December 2021. Multiple reports have claimed that the Chinese manufacturer will launch the Find N2 foldable phone in December 2022. Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station published the key specifications of the Find N2 well ahead of its expected launch.

The leak reveals that the OPPO Find N2 will be equipped with a 5.5-inch OLED cover display, which offers 2120 x 1080 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The leak does not say anything about the foldable screen of the device. Reports from the past have said that the Find N2 will have a 7.1-inch foldable OLED screen.

Under the hood, the Find N2 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It will house a 4,520mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Like its predecessor, the Find N2 is also expected to support wireless charging.

OPPO has a couple of devices lined up for launch in the home market. Later this week, the company is expected to unveil the OPPO A58 5G. The A98 5G is likely to launch by mid-November. New information shared by Digital Chat Station reveals that OPPO will also be launching the Reno 9 lineup and the Find N2 soon in China.

As can be seen in the screenshot below (via. TechGoing), the Reno 9 series will debut by November end in China. Next month, the company will unveil the Find N2 foldable phone. While it is not mentioned in the leak, it appears that OPPO’s first flip phone with a foldable screen, which is tentatively called the OPPO Find N Flip, will debut with the Find N2 in December.

The Reno 9 series is expected to include three devices, such as the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+. These devices may come equipped with the Snapdragon 778G Plus, the Dimensity 8200, and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1v chipsets, respectively.
