Oppo is currently in the process of releasing Android 14-based ColorOS 14 updates for its lineup of compatible smartphones. While many devices have already received the stable Android 14 update, some are still undergoing testing to address any remaining issues. The Oppo Find N3 Flip (review) is the latest device in this phase, having recently received an Android 14 open beta update. This allows interested users to apply and gain access to the update, enabling them to experience Android 14 before the official stable release.

As per the official announcement, the brand is seeking 5000 participants for the Beta Testing Program for Android 14. To qualify, you should have a keen interest in ColorOS, a good understanding of mobile phone technology, and be open to the potential quirks of Alpha versions. This opportunity is for users willing to invest time in thorough testing to help identify and resolve any issues with the Android 14 update.

The recruitment period is from Dec. 28 to Dec. 31. Make sure that your device is updated to version (CPH2519_13.2.0.200(EX01)) before applying for the Beta Test.

Oppo made waves in the smartphone market with its Find N3 Flip and Find N3 releases, both featuring innovative foldable screens. Seeking to assure consumers of the durability of these cutting-edge devices, Oppo secured official certification from TUV Rheinland.

The well-known testing authority, TUV Rheinland, has now certified that both the Find N3 Flip and Find N3 can endure a remarkable minimum of 1 million folds, ensuring the longevity of the phones’ moving components. Interestingly, when Oppo initially launched the Find N3 Flip, the claim was for it to withstand 600,000 folds. This was described as equivalent to opening and closing the phone 100 times daily, projecting a lifespan of over 16 years. However, recent reports from TUV Rheinland suggest that the devices can withstand double that amount, even though this surpasses the practical lifespan of smartphones due to ongoing technological advancements.

As for the Oppo Find N3 specifications, the device boasts a 7.82-inch foldable OLED inner screen with a 2K resolution and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It runs on ColorOS 13.2-based Android 13 and features a substantial 4,805mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging. The camera setup features a 48-megapixel main rear sensor, a 32-megapixel internal camera, and a periscope lens offering 64 megapixels.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Find N3 Flip sports a 6.8-inch LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and its triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP OIS-enabled main sensor. The Flip is powered by a Dimensity 9200 processor, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and runs on Android 13, promising four years of OS updates.

Oppo Find N3 Flip launched in India with revamped design, 50MP triple camera, Dimensity 9200

The Oppo Find N2 Flip was Oppo’s first foldable phone to make its way out of China. This clamshell foldable was unveiled earlier this year with a ton of interesting features and a large cover screen. However, there was still room for improvement, and Oppo aims to address those areas with the new Find N3 Flip. This handset has just been announced in India and comes equipped with a 50MP triple camera setup and a borrowed feature from OnePlus phones—an alert slider. Let’s take a closer look at what the new Find N3 Flip brings to the table.

Find N3 Flip Specifications

The first thing you’ll notice on the Find N3 Flip is the new design. While it still retains the rectangular cover screen, the camera module is now circular. Another thing you’ll see is the new alert slider, which is usually found on OnePlus smartphones. A Hasselblad branding can be seen in the camera module, which houses three sensors. Not just the design, Oppo has also upgraded the build quality. The device now comes with a new hinge mechanism, claimed to be durable in extreme conditions like -20°C to 50°C.

Oppo Find N3 Flip is built around an inner screen measuring 6.80 inches and an outer screen measuring 3.26 inches. As you’d expect, the AMOLED display on the inside is better, featuring a resolution of 2520 × 1080 pixels, 403 PPI, a peak brightness of 1600 nits, and an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. The outer AMOLED panel has a resolution of 720 × 382 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 900 nits.

Powering the clamshell foldable is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. As for the camera setup, the Find N3 Flip brags a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera (with OIS), a 32MP IMX709 telephoto camera (with AF support), and a 48MP IMX581 ultra-wide-angle lens on the rear. The selfies are taken care of by a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor.

In the software department, the Find N3 Flip runs ColorOS 13.2 based on Android 13. Oppo promises 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches. It is powered by a 4,300mAh battery with 44W fast charging. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and various audio codecs like SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, and LHDC.

Pricing and Availability

Oppo Find N3 Flip will be offered in India in Sleek Black and Cream Gold colors. The sole 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage variant of the smartphone will cost you Rs. 94,999 ($1,140). It will be available for purchase in India starting October 22.
