On Friday, April 26, Oppo India held the Oppo Ambassador Conclave in Mumbai to showcase the Find X7 Ultra and announce the Imagine IF Photography Awards contest. The initiative, with renowned director and screenwriter SS Rajamouli as its Indian ambassador, aims to inspire creativity in mobile photography. Oppo launched the Imagine IF Photography Awards globally in 2023, and this marks its inaugural year in India. The first edition of the awards saw over 700,000 entries from 51 countries.

Participants can submit their smartphone photographs for ‘Round 1’ until June 15th (midnight IST). From these entries, 50 winners will be announced in the last week of June and proceed to Round 2. The second phase will begin in early July, with the final six winners announced on July 25th, 2024.

The competition is open to all Indian citizens over the age of 18. There are nine entry categories: landscape, portrait, colours, unfading moment, fashion, snapshot, light, travel, and collection. A panel of expert photographers will judge the entries, including celebrity wedding and portrait photographer and Oppo Imaging Expert Joseph Radhik, wildlife photographer Arzoo Khurana, fashion photographer Arjun Mark, and other global judges.

The Gold winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 5,00,000, two Silver winners will receive Rs 2,00,000 each, and three Bronze winners will receive Rs 1,00,000 each. I have been using the Find X7 Ultra for the past few days and I am impressed by its camera capabilities. It is unfortunate that the X7 series won’t be released in India. Highlights of the phone

As the name suggests, this phone is special in terms of its capability to keep you connected. Even if you are lost or in trouble in a remote place, the satellite communication function on this phone enables you to call for help. It works by using radio waves to communicate directly with the satellite instead of utilizing the cell site. Not to mention. it requires some effort for the phone to achieve it. This phone also offers 5.5G support (also known as 5G-Advanced or 5GA), which reportedly enables download speeds of up to 10 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

Speaking of the other features of this phone, it’s very similar to the regular Find X7 Ultra that was launched back in January. The phone runs ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 and is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

The phone comes with a dual-telephoto camera system each of which has 50MP resolution and 65mm and 135mm focal lengths. The main camera, not to mention, equips an 1″ 50MP sensor. Yes, its a quad camera setup, with another 50MP sensor for ultrawide shots.

It offers a display that goes up to 1600 nits manually (manual peak brightness), 2600 nits automatically in direct sunlight (global peak brightness), and a whopping 4500 nits (local peak brightness) in certain scenarios like watching HDR content in a brightly lit condition.

The series is led by the Find X7 Ultra which is grabbing headlines for being the first smartphone globally to feature two telephoto lenses. With the launch date nearing, Oppo has started showing off what the Find X7 Ultra’s camera is capable of.

Oppo took to Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, to share a bunch of camera samples of Find X7 Ultra’s telephoto cameras. And, as you can see, the images have an impressive background blur while preserving natural color tones and details.

These sample images are taken with the shorter of the two telephoto lenses, which have a 65mm focal length. The second telephoto lens has a 135mm focal range and offers 6x optical zoom.

Oppo also shared photos taken with this second lens, and the results are equally impressive. These close-up shots are really clear, again, with impressive background blur.

However, since they were posted on Weibo, there might be some minor quality loss due to social media compression, but the way the subject stands out from the background still looks great. This zoom range would be further boosted by Oppo’s collaboration with Hasselblad on color science and processing.

Besides the two telephoto units, the Find X7 Ultra will also be the world’s first smartphone to feature a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 50MP camera as the primary sensor. The setup will be completed by a 50MP Sony LYT-600 ultrawide lens.

The upcoming Oppo Find X7 series has been in the rumor mill for a good while now and so far leaks have pointed to three devices in the lineup — a vanilla Find X7, a Find X7 Pro, and a Find X7 Ultra model. But a new leak now suggests that the Find X7 series will not have a Pro model.

The source for the leak is Digital Chat Station, who is a fairly well-known tipster in the tech space. However, the original post where the tipster shared this information has now been deleted.

Although the Find X7 series will not have a Pro model, the tipster suggests the lineup will still be populated by three models. There will be Find X7, Find X7 Ultra, and Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication models instead.

As you may have guessed by the name, the two Ultra models will only be distinguished by the satellite communication feature, a detail consistent with Oppo’s confirmation of this feature in the Find X7 series.

Reports have revealed that the Find X7 will feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset, whereas the X7 Pro and X7 Ultra will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the display specifications of the Find X7 and X7 Ultra.

As per the leaker, the Find X7 will have a 6.78-inch BOE 8T LTPO display that offers a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. On the other hand, the Find X7 Ultra will have a larger 6.82-inch BOE 8T LTPO screen that produces a 2K resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. Both screens employ 2160Hz PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to reduce flicker and eye strain. For higher brightness, both displays support 3Pulse/1Pulse DC dimming.

While it is not mentioned in the leak, it appears that the displays of the Find X7 and X7 Ultra will support up to 120Hz refresh rate. The X7 Pro and X7 Ultra are likely to be identical devices, with the only difference being that the latter will arrive with support for two-way satellite communication. Hence, it appears that the X7 Pro and Ultra may arrive with the same display.

Recent reports have revealed that the Find X7 series will have a 32-megapixel front camera. The standard model’s rear camera setup is said to include a 50-megapixel (LYT-808) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 64-megapixel (OV64B periscope telephoto with 3x zoom) triple camera unit. It is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

The Find X7 Pro and X7 Ultra are said to be equipped with a 50-megapixel (LYT-900) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 64-megapixel (IMX890 periscope telephoto with 3x zoom) + 50-megapixel (IMX858 periscope telephoto with 6x zoom) quad-camera setup on their backs. The X7 Pro will house a 4,860mAh battery, whereas the Ultra model will have a 5,000mAh battery. Both phones are expected to come with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The series will run on ColorOS 14-based Android 14.

Rumors around the upcoming Oppo Find X7 series have been swirling for months now. But now we might have our proper first glimpse of its design. A leaked poster circulating on Weibo appears to reveal the back of the phone.

The poster shows a phone with a prominent circular camera island on the back housing four lenses, suggesting it could be the Find X7 Pro or the rumored Find X7 Ultra.

Earlier today, prolific tipster Digital Chat Station also leaked the purported camera specs of the Find X7 series.

The Pro and Ultra models are said to feature a 50MP 1-inch Sony LYT900 primary sensor, along with a 50MP ultrawide lens and two periscope telephoto lenses — one with 3x optical zoom and another with an impressive 6x zoom, both using 50MP sensors.

We can also see the Hasselblad logo sitting near the lenses which indicates the camera maker’s involvement in image processing. Earlier in November, Oppo unveiled its next-generation Hasselblad HyperTone camera system.

The HyperTone system promises advanced AI noise reduction, RAW-domain processing, and even individual pixel brightness correction. Oppo Find X7 series will make use of this new algorithm.

Moreover, the phone also sports a unique dual-tone back panel, seemingly featuring a metallic top half and a leather bottom. The design reminds us of Huawei’s recent Mate 60 series. Unfortunately, the poster doesn’t reveal the front look of the device.

In terms of specs, the Find X7 Pro and X7 Ultra will use the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the base Find X7 is expected to get the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. Interestingly, the top-tier Find X7 Ultra might even offer satellite connectivity.

Oppo is expected to officially launch the Find X7 series sometime early next year, with the exact date likely to be announced soon. While the Chinese market will likely be the first to receive the phones, we’ll keep you updated on any further developments and official details as they emerge.

Oppo‘s upcoming Find X7 series, expected for next year, might come in three variants: Find X7, X7 Pro, and X7 Ultra. Leaked information has already given us a sneak peek at the Pro and the standard Find X7. Now, tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shared details about the camera specifications for all three models.

As per the leak, the standard Find X7 sports a triple camera system. Its main sensor is a 50MP Sony LYT-808, joined by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. This configuration closely resembles the OnePlus 12‘s camera setup.

In contrast, both the Find X7 Pro and Find X7 Ultra are expected to have four 50MP sensors in their camera setup. One of them is the new 50MP Sony LYT900 primary sensor, which is a one-inch sensor with individual pixels measuring 1.6μm. Additionally, there is a 50MP ultrawide lens.

These models will also include dual-telephoto lenses, with one being a 50MP IMX890 periscope telephoto with 3X optical zoom and another 50MP periscope telephoto with 6X optical zoom. Recently, a schematic shared by tipster Ice Universe also showed us the arrangement of these dual-telephoto sensors on the Find X7 Pro.

So, this means both the Find X7 Pro and Find X7 Ultra will share similar camera specifications and are rumored to feature the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Meanwhile, the standard model will get the Dimensity 9300. An exclusive feature for the Ultra model is likely to be the satellite connectivity feature, as suggested by DCS.
