Realme’s General Vice President and Chief Officer of Realme China, Mr. Chase Xu Qi, has gone to Weibo recently to share with fans about the latest fingerprint scanning technology that Realme will equip in the upcoming Realme GT2 series.

Heart Rate Monitor using Fingerprint Sensor

From the screenshots shared on Weibo, we notice some sort of Heart Rate Monitor menu page on-screen and the instruction seems to suggest to the user to put their thumb on the fingerprint scanner to measure their heart rate. This feature heart rate scanning feature via the fingerprint scanner seems like a unique and interesting idea, but time will tell after release, whether it will be a highlight or be just a mere gimmick.

The fingerprint scanner announcement was later supported by Digital Chat Station, a popular technology leakster from China, whereby he confirmed on Weibo that the Realme GT2 Pro is indeed not using your normal conventional optical fingerprint scanner.

The leakster also informs that the Realme GT2 Pro will be using Corning Gorilla Victus for better scratch and drop protection for users’ peace of mind.

In other news, the Realme GT2 Pro’s design has been officially revealed by the company several days back, but leaked renders of the Realme GT2 Pro from months ago may not be inaccurate after all, as the latest leaks reveal that the Realme GT2 Pro may come in 3 different editions.

This notebook is noteworthy due to its privacy/security feature, which has it receive a fingerprint reader on the side.

When we say notebook, we do not mean a thin laptop, but an actual notebook that arrives with a fingerprint sensor. The Lockbook Pro has just started sale on the online platform and goes for a price of 279 Yuan (roughly 40 US Dollars). It comes in two different colors, namely Gray and Dark Green, and is made with privacy in mind for its users.

Editor’s Pick: MediaTek reportedly being persuaded by the US to reduce supply to Huawei

The book itself is bound in a leather cover with the fingerprint scanner being housed on the side. A LED indicator can also be found on top of the sensor along with its Lockbook Pro branding. This product was designed with privacy being its highlighting aspect since it allows users to keep their important handwritten information written down in a secure way. In other words, rather than keeping notes in a locker, you can carry a secure notebook that has your important details.

Under the hood, a 160mAh battery powers the notebook, which has the standard B6 sized paper pages on the inside. The battery will last for up to 60 days if you open and close the notebook 10 times a day, while the fingerprint sensor has a quick response of 0.5 seconds to unlock. Most phones ship with at least three or more of the following security methods – Pattern, Password, PIN, Fingerprint Scanner, and Face Unlock. Our focus for this week’s poll is on the last two.

Most phones released in the past few years have a fingerprint scanner (under the display, side-mounted, or rear-mounted). Face Unlock has also become a popular feature that is bundled as an additional security option or as an alternative to a fingerprint scanner on some devices.

Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, so it is no surprise that folks will prefer one over the other.

According to Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414), press renders of the Honor 9X Pro heading to the Old Continent, show the phone has its fingerprint scanner on the back. Yes, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and not a side-mounted one like the Chinese variant.

As at the time of writing, we do not know why Honor is making this change. We also cannot say if this will be the same for the model launching in other markets such as India.

Other than the change in the position of the fingerprint scanner, we have not learned of any other differences. Based on that, the Honor 9X Pro should arrive in Europe with a 6.59-inch FHD+ display, a 16MP pop-up selfie camera, and a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup.

It should have the Kirin 810 processor with 8GB of RAM, though there is a chance it may get a 6GB RAM version too. Storage should also be 128GB or 256GB. Other features are a 4000mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0, an audio jack, and EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. The press renders show the phone will be available in Magic Night Black and Phantom Purple.

There is still no date for the launch but once we know, we will share it with you.

The images showed only the back of the phone which has a triple camera setup. It also didn’t have a visible fingerprint scanner which confirmed that the Mi 9 will have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Another image of the phone has leaked online but there is a major difference between it and the first one. The new photo is said to be of a Mi 9 prototype. The device is enclosed in a special case that completely hides the design of the phone save for cut-outs for certain parts.

The Mi 9 prototype has a triple camera setup too and it is in the same position as the live image that fist leaked. In addition to the camera cut out is a larger hole for a fingerprint scanner.

Does this mean there are two versions of the Mi 9? Yes. It has already been reported that there will be an Explorer Edition and just like the Mi 8, we expect significant differences between the regular Mi 9 and the Mi 9 Explorer Edition.

The plausible explanation is that the version with an in-display fingerprint scanner will likely launch as the Mi 9 Explorer Edition or the Mi 9 Pro while this prototype with a fingerprint scanner on its back is the regular variant.

The image also shows the case with two holes at the top right corner. We practically have no idea what the holes are for and if this wasn’t already rumored to be the Mi 9, we would say this is the Essential PH-2 and those holes are connectors for the Essential 360° VR camera or the Essential Audio Adapter HD.

Will you buy the Mi 9 if it does have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and not an in-display scanner? Do let us know.

While most manufacturers will still continue to release phones with the latter design, a few models will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. A published patent shows Meizu’s take on the in-display fingerprint scanner is quite different from what we have seen in other phones.

According to the patent’s description, the sensors that detect the fingerprint are located around the bezels and not beneath the main screen. There are multiple ultrasonic sensors located around the bezels that sense touch from a user.

If the phone is locked and a user touches the bezels, the ultrasonic sensors send info to the processor controlling the fingerprint sensor. This processor then communicates with the phone to detect the fingerprint pattern recorded by the sensors and see if it matches what is in the database. If it matches, the phone is then unlocked.

In the image provided, the areas marked “H” are where the ultrasonic sensors are located. As you can see they go around the display, so irrespective of where you place a registered finger, the sensors should detect it.

The patent is a bit weird since it means the bezels manufacturers are trying to remove for a larger screen-to-body ratio is still there. But one way or the other, it is still different from having the fingerprint scanner in front, on the side, or at the back of the phone.

Meizu filed the patent back in November, 2017 and it was published on March 23.

Other manufacturers will follow suit and that will most probably be the trend for this year.

While Vivo’s X20 Plus UD uses a Synaptics’s sensor that is placed between the glass panel and OLED panel, Japan Display Inc. commonly referred to as JDI has a different approach.

This is the company’s first fingerprint sensor by the way, since they are naturally into display manufacturing. However, the display does play an important part in the way the scanner works.

Sample images of Glass-based Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor

Unlike traditional fingerprint sensors that are made of silicon and are not transparent, JDI’s sensor is made of a transparent material. It uses JDI’s Pixel Eyes technology which allows the sensor to be built right into the glass substrate of the LCD panel.

The technology has been perfected such that it can even detect the changes in capacitance caused by the recesses and ridges of one’s fingerprints when the finger touches the display.

JDI’s current sensor measures 8.0mm x 8.0mm but the company says it plans to develop larger as well as smaller sensors that will work with a variety of devices.

The Japan-based manufacturer says shipping in commercial quantities should begin within the 2018 fiscal year which ends March 2019. Chances are we won’t see it appear in devices until next year.

One key advantage JDI’s technology has over that of Synaptics is that it works with LCD displays unlike the latter which works only with OLED displays. It is safe to say JDI’s technology will not be limited to only flagship devices but also mid-range or even entry-level phones.

The Modern Keyboard is aimed at those who own PCs that lack a biometric scanner.

The highlight of the Modern Keyboard is its fingerprint scanner but unlike other devices where the scanner is visible and in most cases separated from the rest of the keyboard, this one is hidden. The fingerprint scanner on the Microsoft Modern Keyboard is a dedicated button placed between the ALT and the MENU Key.

This position makes it easy to be ignored. All you have to do is press the button with the registered finger and your Windows PC unlocks.

The Modern Keyboard can be used either as a fully wireless keyboard or a wired one. It connects via Bluetooth 4.0 and above devices or 2.4 GHz wireless networks. Range is said to be 10 meters in an open space or 5 meters in an office environment. It also has a rechargeable battery that can last up to 4 months on a single charge.

You should also note that it only works with Windows 10 devices.

The keyboard has an aluminium frame and has a low profile design. If you like your work desk neat and simple, this is another reason to pick up the keyboard.

Microsoft new keyboard is priced at ¥988 ($145) or $129.99 if you live in the States. It is already on sale at Microsoft China’s official store and will be available on JD.com on July 11.

The problem actually has to do with the brightness of the display as the area around the scanner is brighter than the rest. The info comes from supply chain insider @Ice Universe and an image showing what the problem looks like was provided. He also adds that Apple is facing the same issue.

Most people are looking forward to seeing the Galaxy Note 8 implement this technology. However, it doesn’t appear to be something easy to accomplish. If Samsung is going to release a phone with an integrated scanner, it is going to want to make sure it perfects the design. You all wouldn’t like a recall again, right?

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ both have their fingerprint scanners at the back of the device. Although people complained about the position being slightly hard to reach since it sits beside the camera instead of beneath it like in other phones that adopt this design. However, reviews of both devices have been positive as well as sales.

READ MORE: Samsung Galaxy S8 Shook The Chinese Industry, More Full Screen Phones Coming From China

Apple on the other hand, was recently granted a patent for a fingerprint reader integrated into the power key. This is a design similar to what we first saw in the Sony Xperia Z5 in 2015. The Cupertino-based company also has aa design patent for a sensor under the display. We still don’t know which design will make it to the iPhone 8 but we won’t be surprised if it is the former.

Two months later, the V9 was internationally released as the Honor 8 Pro. So you should understand why we were surprised when we came across these images said to be of the Honor 9.

The images were posted on Weibo by @ichangezone and show a phone that looks like a cross between the Honor 8 and the just released Xiaomi Mi 6. The favorite features from the Honor 8 have been transferred to the Honor 9. The dual rear cameras along with the laser focus module and LED flash are positioned in the exact same place and the reflective glass back is still present too.

The major change is in the fingerprint scanner which has been moved from the back to the front. It also doubles as a home button and sits where the “Honor” name used to be on the Honor 8.

READ MORE: Honor 6C Officially Launched in Europe

At the moment, we will advice you take this news with a pinch of salt. The images are just renders and it is hard to think of new features for the phone. The Kirin 960 is still the latest chip from Huawei and that is already in the Honor 8 Pro. It also doesn’t make sense to release the Honor 9 anytime soon as that will probably affect the sales of the Honor 8 Pro.

The latest in the string of Google fails is the Android 7.1.2 update rolling out to Pixel and eligible Nexus phones.

Nexus 6P

Reports coming from those who have gotten the update say their fingerprint scanners have stopped working. Even deleting already registered ones and trying to register a new one doesn’t fix the problem neither does a factory reset of the phone. Surprisingly, gesture controls still work.

As at this moment, there is no fix yet and Google has not responded to the issue too. If you are yet to update your device, it is best you leave it for now until a fix is available. The affected devices are the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P.

Last month Pixel owners had to battle with Bluetooth connectivity issues after installing February’s security patch. The fix didn’t come with with the March security path but as a “server-side-change”.

LG kicked off the 18:9 aspect ratio with its LG G6‘ Full Vision Display. Samsung followed with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ which both have an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. While all three phones have shaved off a large part of their bezels, they still can’t match that of this new device Elephone is working on.

It is important to note that this device is still a prototype, so there is no info on when it will launch and how much it will cost. There are also no specification details available.

One thing you’d notice from the images is that there doesn’t seem to be a front camera, not even on the lower bezel like in the Mi MIX. But if you take a look at the rear camera, it’s designed in such a way that it can be raised up.

READ MORE: Elephone P25 Renamed Elephone P8, More “8” Coming this Year!

The phone also doesn’t seem to have a fingerprint scanner on the back or up in front, so it’s likely that it’s embedded under the display.

Are you excited about this new device? Will you be picking one up if the specs and price are right?

The image shows just the front of the phone but gives us a good look at the iris scanner and fingerprint sensor.

The iris scanner can be seen sitting in-between the front facing camera and the earpiece. It will serve as an additional way for users to unlock their phone. Design wise, Xiaomi doesn’t seem to be joining the bezel-less display train like other manufacturers with the Mi 6, the Mi MIX is its contender for that category. So its not surprising to see that there are still bezels visible on all sides of the Mi 6.

Sitting at the bottom is a fingerprint scanner flanked on both sides by capacitive and definitely backlit buttons. The scanner is said to not push down like a physical button but will work like a capacitive one. So this is probably an ultrasonic sensor.

The Snapdragon 835 powered flagship is expected to be launched during the week. Endless leaks and rumors say the Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a larger screen variant with the Plus moniker. The larger variant will also feature dual rear cameras. We are not sure if this is the Mi 6 Plus but it looks bigger than a 5.15-inch phone.

Even Apple joined the train with the iPhone 7 Plus. Samsung on the other hand felt no need for it seeing as its single camera Galaxy S7/S7 Edge were strong contenders for the best camera phone for 2016. So when the Galaxy Note 7 was released, no one complained about its lack of dual cameras.

A few days ago, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were announced. While none of the two devices sports dual cameras, it turns out Samsung considered giving the Galaxy S8+ dual sensors. This didn’t end as an idea that was mentioned during a meeting to discuss what features the next flagship should have. Samsung actually made a prototype but sadly it was not approved as the final device.

An image of the prototype has been posted on Weibo by @Lei Ming Xuan. Not only do we see the dual-cameras but we can also see that Samsung didn’t place the fingerprint scanner on the rear in this unit. So apart from the Galaxy S8 having an additional sensor, it would also have had its fingerprint scanner in front.

READ MORE: Samsung Smartwatch Patent Puts A Second Screen on The Bezel

The image shows the cameras are positioned in the middle of the phone and are stacked on top of each other. There is the laser focus and LED flash sitting below and Samsung’s logo about an inch underneath the setup. A sticker on the phone states the storage is 64GB and the model number as SM-G955F which is the same model number as the officially launched version.

Just because Samsung didn’t release the Galaxy S8+ doesn’t mean we won’t see it on another model. But dual sensors or not, we trust Samsung will keep churning out phones with impressive cameras.

Synaptics says its new sensors can be adapted into any of these designs and in any position too.

Another new feature coming to the FS4600 family is that it can be placed under either glass, ceramic, or polymer coatings. This is different from the Xiaomi Mi 5s’ ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that is embedded under the front glass but still has the display above it.

In this case, the display extends through the scanner. The image below gives you an idea of what it looks like though without the indentation.

Apple is in the forefront of adopting the optical fingerprint scanner technology for its iPhone 8. However, it appears Meizu is also planning on doing the same. A screenshot of an article forwarded by Meizu’s VP, Li Nan to a group of friends is said to be the hint. The article is on Apple’s optical fingerprint program and sources say those in the group are involved in the development of fingerprint technology (for Meizu).

Li Nan says in the message that this is the new trend for fingerprint scanners. It remains to be seen when Meizu will release a phone with the new fingerprint technology but we’ll keep our ears on the ground for further information.

The ZTE Blade A2 Plus boasts the usual features you will find in an average mid-range device. There is a 5.5-inch full HD display, hybrid dual-SIM slots (nano only), a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front facing camera. However, while most of these mid-range phones offer very similar specs, ZTE has made an effort to stand out.

The Blade A2Plus’s has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear that is clickable. So apart from unlocking your phone, you can long press on it to turn on the flashlight; double click to take photos; and a single click will take screenshots. ZTE has also incorporated features similar to Google’s fingerprint gestures. So swiping down the fingerprint scanner on any screen will bring up your notification drawer and swiping up will bring up recent apps. The Blade A2 Plus also packs a massive 5000mAh battery.

ZTE’s Blade A2 Plus has a MTK6750T processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage which can be increased via one of the SIM slots doubling as a microSD card slot. There is VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro USB port.

The Gionee M2017 was released last night. The phone which is aimed at the business class due to its luxury build, focus on security, and high price tag features a number of features that are found only in high-end phones and some that shouldn’t be found on a phone with a price tag this high.

Gionee has gone for a design that clearly stands out. The M2017 will surely turn heads but not as a result of it being attractive. The Gionee M2017 is not an attractive phone. But because its design brings a breath of fresh air into a market that is filled with so many clones and design rip-offs.

The Gionee M2017 is made of a mixture of aluminium and leather (crocodile/calfskin). Standing tall at 155.2mm and sporting a 5.7” 2K AMOLED display, the phone could be smaller if Gionee settled for on-screen keys, a rear fingerprint scanner and ditched the huge black bezel at the top that does nothing but bear the manufacturer’s name.

The rear of the phone is not so interesting as well. The antenna lines at the top and bottom stand out against the aluminium frames and the shield-like design that houses the dual-cameras and LED flash doesn’t seem to serve any aesthetic purpose.

The top of the phone is bare of any ports but the lower part is where the surprise is. A USB Type-C port flanked by cut-outs for the speaker(s) and the primary microphone. That’s all. No audio jack!

The Gionee M2017 has its SIM tray on the left while the volume rocker and power button are positioned on the left. It is also pretty heavy, weighing over 200g; and thick at 10.78mm, thanks to its 7000mAh built-in battery.

It doesn’t score big on design but specification-wise, it can be classified as a powerful mid-ranger. The Snapdragon 653 processor won’t offer the performance of the Snapdragon 821 but it should handle any task thrown at it. There is 6GB of RAM and either 128GB/256GB of storage depending on your choice and how deep your pocket is. The dual cameras on the rear have optical zoom and the fingerprint scanner uses an infrared system to scan for changes in blood flow allowing it to confirm that the fingerprint is live.

There is quick charge support for the large battery and you can also use the Gionee M2017 to charge your other phones. Gionee has also put a dedicated security chip in the phone to protect your data from hackers.

Since the Huawei Mate 9 was announced, the Huawei P10 has been the focus of leaks and rumors. The latest one comes from Weibo user @reviewer_Well who says the Huawei P10 will come with a dual-curved display.

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is the company’s first device with a dual-curved display, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the next flagship has a curved display as well.

He also mentioned that the Huawei P10 will have it’s fingerprint scanner in front instead of the back like the Huawei P9 and that the P10 might be the first Huawei phone to feature wireless charging. How the company intends to achieve that with an all-metal body still remains a mystery as phones with wireless charging are usually non-metal.

Expect to Spend a Fortune on Repairs

All of these information have not been confirmed by Huawei but one feature we are sure about is the dual-rear cameras. That should remain and be better than that of the Huawei P9.

Known mainly for building the technology behind the touchpad on your notebook PC, the company also has its hand in other pies. The company recently announced its new under-glass fingerprint scanner which works in a similar way to Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner present in the Xiaomi Mi 5s.

Synaptics new optical fingerprint sensor called the Fs9100 can scan fingerprints correctly when embedded under cover glass that is at most 1mm thick. Since your finger isn’t touching the scanner directly, it won’t matter if it is wet. The scanner will also be able to last longer since it is protected from scratches.

The Synaptics FS9100 sensor like Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic scanner does not require cutouts but like Xiaomi demonstrated with the Mi 5s, you might still need a kind of groove to help guide users to the area the fingerprint scanner covers especially when they are using their phone in the dark.

Apple and Samsung are two of the biggest names when it comes to smartphones and based on leaks, their next flagships are rumored to ditch the home button which also serves as the fingerprint scanner. If that happens, they will be settling for a new type of fingerprint sensors that can be hidden under the display. While Apple is probably working on its own technology, we can’t rule out the fact that they may look towards Synaptics for the sensors they need since both companies have worked together in the past.

READ MORE: iPhone 8 to Feature Under-Glass Fingerprint Scanner Similar to Xiaomi Mi 5s’

Samsung on the other hand has gotten its supply of fingerprint sensors from Synaptics for a while now. If we are to compare the time of launch of the Galaxy S8 which is expected to be delayed, it should coincide with the time Synaptics says their new sensor will go into mass production. Which means the Galaxy S8 may be the first device to sport the new scanner.

The unique feature of the phone is its Helio P20 processor but that doesn’t seem to be the only thing going for it, as a leaked image of the phone shows that Meizu has also paid attention to its design.

The image was posted on Weibo today and we are shocked to see that the Meizu X sports dual cameras and a rear positioned fingerprint scanner. Those who can easily spot similarities between phones will be quick to notice that it looks so much like the Honor 8.

Left to me, that’s not a bad thing. Quite a number of manufacturers copy each other’s designs and Huawei isn’t left out.

The Meizu X will launch with Mediatek’s Helio P20 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It will also feature a Mali-T88o MP2 GPU which offers up to a 20% increase in performance over the Helio P10.

Fact: This is not the first time Meizu will use the ”X” name. Last year, they released a smart bulb called the Meizu X-Light Plus.

The Mate 9 Pro is not only different in terms of the screen, it is also the other Huawei phone (alongside the Mate 9 Porsche Design) to have its fingerprint scanner located in front. That single design change makes the phone look like it is a Samsung phone. Other differences the Mate 9 Pro has from the original Mate 9 are also in the design. The antenna lines are more visible and the LED flash and laser focus module now flank the dual-cameras at the top and bottom and not on the sides. The Mate 9 also sports just one speaker grille instead of two as the second speaker grille has been replaced by the 3.5mm jack.

A patent filed back in the past by Apple reveals a design for what is currently called the under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint scanner in the Mi 5S. The patent published by the Patent and Trademark Office in September 2014 is for an electrostatic lens capacitive fingerprint sensor.

The new sensor is expected to debut in the iPhone 8 scheduled to launch next year. Apple, this year decided to remove the press functionality of their home button from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Sources say the decision is a part of a larger plan to completely phase out the home button and instead replace it with a virtual one which will still double as a fingerprint scanner. To achieve that, they will have to use a sensor that can be placed under the front glass like we have in the Xiaomi Mi 5S.

While people have mixed feelings about the new home button, there’s a chance there will be outrage if the button is completely ditched in favor of a capacitive one. There is still a year’s wait to see what Apple finally decides, so fans need not get sad over this.

Manufactured by Qualcomm and bringing new features, the ultrasonic scanner can be said to be the third generation of fingerprint recognition technology. And the Mi 5s will be the first phone in the world to sport it.

The common fingerprint scanners we have in phones today are capacitive scanners which have limitations. A major one is the fact that once your hands are dirty or wet, the scanner fails to read your prints and unlock your device. But that will soon be a thing of the past as this new sensor will accurately read your prints if your hand is wet or covered in sweat or grease.

Another feature is that it also allows manufacturers to hide it from plain view. That way you can have a device that is flush (for devices with scanners on the rear) or ditch the home button (for devices that have their scanners up front). The scanner will work under a variety of materials including glass and aluminium.

Director of IHS Technology, Wang Yang posted on Weibo confirming that the Mi 5s will indeed launch with Qualcomm’s ultrasonic sensor which will be embedded under the front glass. The post is accompanied by an official poster of the feature.

The design was well received such that the company decided henceforth to put it on all their phones. It was a perfect position to rest your forefinger while holding the phone.

You’d think when the company decided to make it’s first phone with a fingerprint scanner, they would use the same spot since it was a natural spot for users but instead they came up with the ugly square scanner on the chin of the Moto G4 Plus and Moto Z/ Z Force.

It seems the company has seen the error of its ways. A new phone in the works called the Moto M (Motorola XT1663) will have the moto dimple double as a fingerprint scanner. The device is said to share design similarities to the 2014 Moto G which does not have a single piece of plastic connecting the camera, the LED flash and dimple together like you have on the Moto G 3rd gen.

Huawei wants to do things differently by putting the fingerprint under the front glass, that is if the rumour turns out to be true.

A weibo account, @Mocha Socialist Workers, said in a post that he suspects that Huawei is simply not following the bandwagon by placing their fingerprint scanner in front but are working on the first locally produced embedded fingerprint scanner. The technology will see the fingerprint scanner placed at the bottom of the glass covering the screen. While he says the P10 may be the first device to use this design, he says this is still a speculation.

The company may probably use something similar to Qualcomm’s Sense ID Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner which lets the scanner work through thin materials such as a smartphone case built from glass or sapphire. This will allow manufacturers hide it from plain view.

Even if Huawei does not use the above technology, there is a high chance that it may still place the fingerprint scanner in front but using the home button style.

It is an event that allows exhibitors present their latest innovations and products to the general public.

Quite a number of manufacturers always host their own personal conference right before the official opening to launch a new device or announce a new technology, and Huawei seems to be doing the same this year. The company has sent out invites for an event on September 1 which sources say is for the launch of a new phone.

The company’s senior Vice President, Yu Chengdong has announced that the event will take place at the Velodrom in Berlin at 1630 hrs on September 1. Yu Chengdong, in his own words says that the new release will ”exceed expectations”. Are we surprised? Not really. The company has had an impressive year so far and has exceeded expectations already of so many people most especially folks in the US following the recent release of the Honor 8.

RELATED: Huawei Releases G9 Plus

Rumours say the company wants to release a new sub-brand called Nova which will be aimed at the female folk. Further, sources say, Chinese actress, Guan Xiaotong has been invited to speak at the event.

It is also speculated that the device reported to be the Mate S2 which showed up at TENAA days ago, might actually be the first Nova device.
Landvo is not widely known smartphone maker neither in China nor worldwide. They are actually better known for making clone devices. This time around we can see that the manufacturer has decided to produce on the popular phablets.

From the design perspective we can see that the device looks very similar to the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 as it has all metal body, fingerprint scanner on the back along with the 13mp camera on the back (with dingle LED flash). Also, it has a rear loud-speaker and some stripes for better reception. What is more, the device is being run by the 64-bit chip (the manufacturer of the chip is not yet disclosed), has dual SIM stand-by functionality, it supports 4G LTE-FDD network. What is even more interesting, that the manufacturer promises a Android Lollipop update soon.

All in all, it seems to be pretty decent device, because it should offer a decent build quality, great specs at a bargain price.

As the launch date of the Meizu MX4 Pro approaches, more details are coming out regarding Meizu’s latest release. Recently, photos of what appear to be the MX4 Pro’s chassis were leaked on the internet. From these pictures, it seems that the MX4 Pro is bigger than the Xiaomi Mi4 and that Meizu has done away with its classic small round Home button, replacing it with a Home button similar to Samsung’s smartphones. This confirms rumors that they changed the Home button because of the MX4 Pro’s use of a fingerprint sensor.

Regarding the MX4 Pro’s other specifications, it will sport a 5.4-inch 2K display screen and use the Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core chip and Mali-T628MP6 GPU. It will also have a 20.7mp Sony rear-facing camera, 5mp front-facing camera, and 3GB RAM. It is rumored that three versions will be released: a 32GB version, 64GB version, and 128GB version.

Everyone knows that the Meizu MX4 Pro will have a fingerprint scanner. Now, some reports say that it will continue to use the oval Home button that was sported by the Meizu M8. A rendering of the phone was recently posted online seemingly confirming this. The rendering also shows that it has a gold frame that looks exquisitely made.

According to Meizu, the Meizu MX4 Pro’s fingerprint scanner will not be located at the back but, as many leaked photos show, on the front and will be integrated with the Home button. It is not known what solution they will use as of now.

The launch of the Meizu MX4 Pro was still postponed, but nevertheless, it looks a phone that is worth waiting for.
