<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> has released a firmware update for its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/04/xiaomi-smart-band-7-pro-with-amoled-display-12-day-battery-life-launched-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Smart Band 7 Pro</a>, version 1.4.70, bringing several improvements to the device&#8217;s features and user experience.</p>

<p>Among the new functions added to the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro are the &#8220;Calendar&#8221; feature, allowing users to quickly access their schedules and appointments from the band, and the &#8220;Turn off watchface Editing&#8221; option, which prevents accidental changes to the watch face. The update also includes the &#8220;Find your band&#8221; feature, enabling users to locate their device through their <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartphone/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">smartphone</a> and trigger the band&#8217;s vibration.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="513" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-513x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-518178" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-513x1024.jpg 513w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-150x300.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-768x1532.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-770x1536.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-1027x2048.jpg 1027w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-696x1388.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-1068x2130.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update-211x420.jpg 211w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-1.4.70-Firmware-Update.jpg 1283w" sizes="(max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px" /></figure></div>

<p>Additionally, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/firmware/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">firmware update</a> introduces the &#8220;Stat goal switch&#8221; function, giving users more control over the stat goal push notifications they receive. The update also optimizes the accuracy of the device&#8217;s sleep, calorie, and exercise algorithms, along with improving the overall dial-related experience and fixing other experience-related problems.</p>

<p>The update also adds message notification display icons for more applications and optimizes the weather cache strategy to improve the device&#8217;s performance.</p>

<p>However, the &#8220;Stat reminder&#8221; function has been removed from the update. Xiaomi notes that the 3rd and 4th optimizations require the simultaneous upgrade of the App, which will be released soon.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="620" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro" class="wp-image-518179" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-300x182.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-768x465.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-696x421.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Smart-Band-7-Pro-694x420.jpg 694w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro features a 1.64-inch HD 2.5D AMOLED touch display with a resolution of 280×456 pixels, 326 PPI, and up to 500 nits of brightness. It is compatible with Android 6.0 and above and iOS 12.0 and above, and supports Bluetooth 5.2 and GNSS systems that include BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.</p>

<p>As <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-2-us-esim-dsds-update/">per the report</a>, Samsung has rolled out firmware build F916USQU2HVF1 for the carrier-locked model of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, while the unlocked model has got F916U1UEU2HVF4 update that brings both the new features.</p>
<p>Along with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM functionality</a> and DSDS support, the June update also comes with some additional features for the camera department, such as auto framing in the camera app and video calls, as well as improved Night portrait photography.</p>
<p>Some users of the carrier-locked model have already started receiving the July 2022 update, so there&#8217;s a possibility that some of the users may not get the June <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/software-update">update</a> and directly get the new July update, which will bring these new features to the phone.</p>

<p>After YouTuber Ian in London <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLrhcwI1s68">highlighted</a> the battery discharge issue with the DJI Mini 2 claiming that it may harm the long-term health of the device&#8217;s battery, more users started complaining about the same.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-352272 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2.jpg?x44794" alt="DJI Mini 2" width="3000" height="2000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2.jpg 3000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI-Mini-2-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3000px) 100vw, 3000px" /></p>
<p>The DJI Mini 2 uses Lithium Polymer (LiPo) <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">batteries</a> and they ideally need to slowly discharge when left at full charge to help prolong the life and prevent long-term issues. While DJI&#8217;s Intelligent Batteries usually do this but users found that the Mini 2 drone&#8217;s battery isn&#8217;t doing this and it has now been confirmed by the company.</p>
<p>To fix this issue, the company says that it is working on the fix will release a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/firmware-update">firmware update</a> that will &#8220;initiate auto-discharge when batteries are in the drone or charging hub and have not been used recently,&#8221; <a href="https://www.techradar.com/news/dji-admits-dji-mini-2-has-battery-issue-and-says-a-fix-is-coming">reports TechRadar</a>.</p>
<p>The DJI spokesperson added: <em>&#8220;When placed in the drone or charging hub, the batteries use a minute amount of charge to maintain vital functions and do not initiate auto-discharge. For customers storing their drone for long periods of time, DJI recommends that batteries are removed from the drone and/or charging hub whether the firmware is updated or not. DJI will provide information on timing once that information becomes available.&#8221;</em></p>
<p id="E6kao4">The DJI Mini 2 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/05/dji-mavic-mini-2-launched/">was launched</a> in November last year for $449 and comes with support for shooting 4K videos at 30fps, 4X zoom, 2X lossless zoom, as well as RAW format. It is powered by OcuSync 2.0 with features like QuickShot, QuickTransfer, Enhanced Photo, and Trimmed Download. As for the battery life, it offers 31 minutes of flight time.</p>

Personally, it is a deal breaker for me when a device doesn&#8217;t get support anymore a few months after purchase just because there&#8217;s a newer phone available (manufacturers that release new phones every month should take note). So when I see a brand that takes updates very important, I tend to give them a little more respect.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-87075" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/vernee-thor.jpg?x44794" alt="vernee thor" width="461" height="314" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/vernee-thor.jpg 461w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/vernee-thor-300x204.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/05/23/vernee-thor-review/">Vernee Thor</a> has already received <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/07/vernee-thor-2nd-ota-update/">two updates</a> since its release and the company is telling their fans to prepare for a third one next week. They&#8217;ve released a change log detailing what fixes will be coming to the phone below:</p>
<ol>
<li>Fixed the problem of proximity sensor failing under direct sunlight.</li>
<li>Lowered standby power consumption when cellular data, WiFi  or Bluetooth is on.</li>
<li>Addressed potential security or storage leakage issue when WiFi or Bluetooth is on.</li>
<li>Enhanced 2G network access speed.</li>
<li>Fixed WiFi On but no internet connection when the device is far from AP.</li>
<li>Google Security Patch.</li>
</ol>
<p>The Vernee Thor has a 5&#8221; HD screen, 3GB RAM, 16GB of ROM, dual SIM slots, 13MP/5MP cameras, a fingerprint scanner, runs android marshmallow, and sports a 2800mAh battery.</p>
