DC dimming significantly reduces the eye strain while using the AMOLED displays at lower brightness. Meizu also added enhanced gaming experience, a new battery UI, NFC toggle, Android Beam and smoother experience.</p>

<h3>Meizu 16XS Design</h3>
<p>The Meizu 16XS carries the same design language as its elder siblings. So, the new mid-ranger has a symmetric design with super thin bezels on the sides. The company continues to defy the notch trend by incorporating the front camera on the thin top bezel.</p>
<figure id="attachment_256307" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-256307" style="width: 543px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-256307" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16XS Atlantis Blue" width="543" height="543" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Atlantis-Blue-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-256307" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu 16XS Atlantis Blue</figcaption></figure>
<p>The back features a similar design as the 16S, however, there&#8217;s an additional third wide-angle camera on board. This makes it the first Meizu smartphone with three cameras at the back! There are four official color options available, Jade White, Black, and two special colors, Coral Orange, inspired by the Living Coral color, which was selected as Pantone&#8217;s Color of the Year 2019, and Atlantis Blue.</p>
<figure id="attachment_256311" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-256311" style="width: 527px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-256311" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16XS Coral Orange" width="527" height="527" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Meizu-16XS-Coral-Orange-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 527px) 100vw, 527px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-256311" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu 16XS Coral Orange</figcaption></figure>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Meizu 16XS Hardware</h3>
<p>Coming to the hardware, the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/meizu">Meizu</a> 16XS comes with the mid-range <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/11/qualcomm-snapdragon-675-antutu/">Snapdragon 675 processor</a> clocked at 2.0GHz. There will be 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM on board with 64GB / 128GB storage options, just like last year&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x/">Meizu 16X</a>. The screen is a custom 6.2-inch Super <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED</a> display which was reportedly developed with an investment of $3 million. it features 103% NTSC color gamut, 90.29% screen to body ratio, German VDE certified hardware level blue light filter, and ultra-narrow bezels on all the four sides. The phone also comes with Meizu&#8217;s mTouch <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/screen-fingerprint">screen fingerprint</a> with 0.2 seconds unlock and support for fingerprint enabled payments for WeChat and Alipay.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-256300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM.png?x10805" alt="Meizu 16XS specs Chinese" width="1012" height="445" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM.png 1012w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM-300x132.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM-768x338.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM-696x306.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Screenshot-2019-05-30-at-12.58.53-PM-955x420.png 955w" sizes="(max-width: 1012px) 100vw, 1012px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu has also updated its OneMind AI 3.0. The company claims that the phone won&#8217;t lag even with 669 apps installed and can host up to 20 apps in the background without having to kill it. There&#8217;s a HyperGaming mode as well to ensure you have distraction-free gaming experience. The 16XS also gets the new FlyMe 7.3 based on Android Pie, which will be the last major version in the 7 series. Meizu will reveal more details about the new FlyMe 8 in the coming months.</p>
<p>One of the highlights of the device is its large 4000mAh battery, supported by 18W fast mCharge. It&#8217;s also one of the lightest 4000mAh smartphones around, weighing just 165 grams and measuring 8.3mm in thickness. This could be a really good selling point for the phone.</p>
