The update brings One Mind 3.0 with refined ways to analyze user behaviours for efficiently optimizing the services. Further, Meizu added enhanced gaming experience, a new battery UI, NFC toggle, Android Beam and smoother experience.

The new update integrates Meizu Pay app with the Flyme system for touchless payments experience using the bank, bus and other access cards. The company has integrated the whole system with NFC. Furthermore, users can now set the default payment option by going into the settings menu. One-touch Android Beam is also a part of the new system.

After the update, Meizu 16s users can toggle between DC dimming and PWM dimming. DC dimming significantly reduces the eye strain while using the AMOLED displays at lower brightness.

Moreover, Meizu introduced One Mind 3.0 based on Android Pie and Flyme 7.3 version. Meizu’s internal apps like Shutdown Wake 3.0, Smart Free 3.0, Resource ਸੋਲੋੁਾੀ 2.0, Memory compression 2.0, etc have also been optimized for better performance.

The update solved various bugs like black screen not responding, icon switch toggle error, etc.

The company is now in the process of recruiting beta testers to iron out the bugs and other issues from Flyme 7 before it is officially made available to wider audience. As of this writing, Meizu is yet to confirm on the list of the smartphones that will be receiving the new Flyme 7 UI. Since it has made the beta version available for the older Meizu PRO 5 phone, it seems that plenty of Meizu phones will be treated with Flyme 7.

The below shown image reveals that the Flyme 7 is now available for beta testing on two devices such as Meizu PRO 5 and Meizu M6 Note. As mentioned above, the Chinese manufacturer is yet to confirm on the list of supported Meizu phones for Flyme 7. The Meizu PRO 5 smartphone was launched in September 2015 and it is fueled by Exynos 7420 SoC. This indicates that apart from 2018 Meizu phones, the Flyme 7 could be available to all the Meizu devices that were launched in 2016 and 2017.

Hence, some of the popular Meizu phones from the past two years that are expected to receive the Flyme 7 include Meizu M5, M5 Note, M3, M3 Note, M3 Max, M3x, M3s, M3e, Pro 6, Pro 6 Plus, Pro 6s, and MX6. The 2017 Meizu phones such as Meizu PRO 7, PRO 7 Plus, M6, M5c, Meizu M5s and Meizu E2 are also expected to receive the Flyme 7 update. It goes without saying that this year’s Meizu M6s and Meizu E3 phones will also receive the Flyme 7 update.

The above shown leaked photo reveals that the Meizu PRO 5 and M6 Note has received the Flyme 7.8.4.17 daily edition. The version number suggests that it is a day-to-day test version that is being rolled out on a daily basis.

In order to try the beta version of the Flyme 7, one can enroll through the Flyme Community app. One should be aware of the fact that the beta edition may contain bugs. Hence, users who are interested to try the beta version are suggested to perform a backup of the device before installing it.

We had seen a poster which not only intimated us of the launch date but also a screenshot of the features the new custom UI will bring along with it. A Meizu Engineer has now come out to discredited such news as mere rumors.

The Flyme Engineer is said to have also taken a swipe at the font style deployed on the design of the number 7. The promotional poster was also given knocks for its ugly-looking graphic design. Although the news isn’t true, discussions centered on Flyme 7 has often cropped up on the Flyme forum since last year as fans are already looking forward to it. Meizu’s Flyme OS is considered as one of the best Android-based custom UI bringing stability, fluidity, security to the smartphone’s UI.

There is still reason to be excited, though, because Meizu has revealed that there is a surprise coming up next week Tuesday which is January 30. Some already guess the company will release the M15 on that day but that is unlikely. Perhaps, Meizu will on Tuesday next week announce the launch date for its next big product. We are not so sure about that anyway because the M6s is only a couple of weeks out of the box.

The leaked details stipulate that Meizu will officially unveil the Flyme 7 and its new features on February 24 barely a month from today. Apart from the release date, some of the added features that would be on the new Custom ROM were also leaked. The leak comes in form of a screenshot of a device running Flyme 7v982 Beta and it shows a readjustment of the system architecture. The new OS is also said to optimize power performance but wasn’t stated if it would be based on Android 8.0. In addition, the Flyme 7 User Interface was also adjusted and it looks more colourful. Another addition is a mQuick button and a new OneMind 2.0 AI. There is also support for Cloud backup and other new features which would be made known as time goes on.

Overall, the upgrades over the Flyme 6 coming to the Flyme 7 doesn’t look large but it is worth looking forward to. Meizu is known to have one of the most intuitive and creative OS in the Flyme of all the Android-based custom UI. No word yet on if a beta program is already underway but we’ll find that out soon.
