Samsung currently offers the longest software support on Android smartphones and tablets spread across all price segments. Last year, the company pledged to support its devices for up to 5 years.

However, prior models were limited to 4 years. A few such phones and tablets have now reached the end of their official software support.

According to GalaxyClub (via SamMobile), Samsung has ended software support for the following devices.

• Galaxy A10
• Galaxy A20
• Galaxy A40
• Galaxy Tab S5e
• Galaxy Tab A 10.1
• Galaxy Tab A with S Pen

These products will work just fine without software support

All of these handsets and tablets were released in or before April 2019. The Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A40 are on March 2023 security patch. Whereas, the Galaxy A20 is stuck with the December 2023 update.

These products will continue to work despite their software support has been suspended. They currently boot Android 11, which can run almost all the apps available on the Google Play Store.

Perhaps, the only issues you could face on these devices are performance and battery-related. Though the latter can be fixed with a replacement, the former cannot.

Further, none of them have 5G connectivity. So that could be one more reason to upgrade to a newer phone if you have coverage for the latest-gen mobile networks in your city.

Having said that, a lot more Samsung Galaxy-branded handsets and tablet will see their software support end in the coming months.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy A10 in India are now getting the latest Android 11 upgrade. The new update offers some great features including One UI 3.1. The Samsung Galaxy A10 was released in 2019 and has already enjoyed a previous upgrade from Android 9 to Android 10. It is unlikely that there will be any further upgrade of the OS in the device’s lifetime. The Galaxy A10 has also enjoyed an upgrade of its One UI, Samsung’s user interface.

Some of the new features include chat bubbles, auto permission reset, one-time permissions, and a dedicated media player widget. There are also updates to Calendar, Gallery, Messages, Reminders, Samsung Internet. Digital Wellbeing and parental control features have been improved as well. The Galaxy A10 also gets bug fixes, device stability improvements, and better security and privacy with the latest software update.

On Tuesday, Samsung announced three new Galaxy A-series smartphones in the U.S. such as Galaxy A50, Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A10e. From the photos, one can see that it has a V-shaped notch at the top-center that houses the selfie camera. The rear of the phone sports a single camera. The leaked image does not show the phone to have any visible finger sensor. Even if it does not have any fingerprint sensor, it should be able to let users to unlock it through the face identification security feature.

There is a power and volume adjustment button on the right. The 3.5mm headphone socket, and USB connector are located at the bottom. The microphone port is on top of the phone. The speakers are positioned at the bottom left on the back panel.

Rumors have revealed that the Galaxy A10 is powered by Exynos 7884B octa-core chipset that is capable of handling clocking of up to 1.6GHz. This year Samsung is expected to launch no less than five new Galaxy A smartphones. They include the Galaxy A90 which will have a pop-up camera, the Galaxy A70, A50, A30, and Galaxy A10. Some of these models are expected to launch soon which should explain why Samsung India already has a page up for the phones.

The official Samsung India website already has a page for a few of the phones. The page shows three phones we believe to be the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30, and Galaxy A50 and lists a few of the features we will see on them.

The Galaxy A10 has a single rear camera and an Infinity-V display. It is also missing a fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A30 has dual rear cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an Infinity-U display.

The Galaxy A50 shown in silver also has an Infinity-U display and triple rear cameras. There is no fingerprint scanner visible and that is because it’s under the display.

Some of the features of the phones Samsung has teased include ultra-wide video mode, slow-motion recording, hyper-lapse video recording, and fast charging. Don’t expect all the models to have the aforementioned features.

Unlike the Galaxy M phones, the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones will be available for purchase online as well as offline.

In terms of shipments, the smartphone market in India is currently led by Xiaomi for nearly a year. Through the new Galaxy A phones, Samsung aims to increase its market share in India. Singh claims that the Galaxy A series will serve the entire portfolio and will become the country’s largest brand of a single name series in this year. The new Galaxy A phones will be priced between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 50,000. The company aims to achieve better sales by banking on its powerful offline channel which includes 180,000 retail outlets and 2,000 brands stores across the country.

Some of the forthcoming Galaxy A phones may clash with the existing Galaxy M models. Singh responded on it by saying that the company wants to spoil the consumers with multiple choices even when one series is exclusively for buying online.

Recent reports suggest that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. The entire specifications of the A10, A30 and A50 phones have been leaked. The A50 could be an upper mid-range phone that will come with triple rear cameras and in-display fingerprint scanner. Rumors have it that the company will be also launching the Galaxy S10 series in India in March.

Samsung Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 smartphones have been in the rumors since the past few months. Fresh information shared by an Indian publication reveals that the A10, A20 and A30 smartphones will launch within the next month in India. The Galaxy A50 is expected to debut separately in the country within the first half of the year.

Samsung seems to be gearing up to start the year 2019 with a bang. In India, the South Korean company has already released mid-range Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones. On Feb. 20, the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e will be unveiled internationally. Alongside the S10 series, the company may announce its first Galaxy Flex/Fold foldable phone. The Galaxy S10 series may hit the Indian market by the second quarter of 2019. Apart from these phones, the A10, A20 and A30 smartphones are tipped to debut in the first quarter of 2019. The Galaxy A50 is expected to get a global release first before landing in India in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A30 Rumors

The publication claims that Samsung will be releasing new A-series Galaxy phones soon in India to rival with budget-friendly phones from Chinese Android OEMs. The Galaxy A10 is expected to debut with a starting price of Rs. 8,490 (~$118). Unlike the M10 and M20 that have LCD panels, the upcoming Galaxy A phones may feature S-AMOLED displays.

The Galaxy M10 and M20 phones respectively feature 3,400mAh and 5,000mAh batteries. It is speculated the A10, A20 and A30 will have smaller batteries than the Galaxy M-series phones.

The Galaxy A10 (SM-A105F), A20 (SM-A205F), A30 (SM-A305F), A40 (SM-A405F) and A50 (SM-A505F) phones have all appeared on Geekbench recently. There is no word on the release of the Galaxy A40 smartphone. The Geekbench listing of the A10, A20, A30 and A40 have revealed that they are all powered by Exynos 7885 chipset and Android 9 Pie OS. The appearance of these phones on the benchmarking platform has revealed that the A10 has 2 GB of RAM, A20 has 3 GB of RAM, A30 has 4 GB of RAM and A40 has 4 GB of RAM. A recent report had revealed that the Galaxy A30 may come in 32 GB and 64 GB storage models and black, white, silver, blue and pink color variants.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Rumors

The Galaxy A50 Geekbench listing has revealed that it features Exynos 9610 chipset, 6 GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie OS. It is speculated that the smartphone may arrive in 64 GB and 128 GB storage choices and black, white, blue and red colors. A recent leak had revealed that the Galaxy A50 will be equipped with optical in-display fingerprint scanner and triple rear cameras. The main sensor on the rear and the front-facing camera of the A50 could be of 24-megapixel. It is likely to draw power from a 4,000mAh battery.

Samsung recently announced two mid-range phones in India. One is the Exynos 7904-powered Galaxy M20 and the other is the Exynos 7870-powered Galaxy M10. Now, another mid-range phone seems to be on the way, this time the Galaxy A10 and it has been spotted on Geekbench.

Geekbench says the Galaxy A10 is powered by the Exynos 7885 which is technically a higher-clocked version of the Exynos 7904. Yeah, blame Samsung’s insane naming scheme. Also, do read our opinion of the Exynos 7904 here. However, there is a possibility it is actually the Exynos 7904 as benchmark apps are said to incorrectly identify the 7904 as the 7885 due to the similarities between them.

Even if the Galaxy A10 does come with the slightly more powerful Exynos 7885 processor, it might sell for less than the Galaxy M20 (at least this particular variant) as it has just 2GB of RAM compared to the M20 which has a base model with3GB RAM. There should be other RAM + storage configurations when it launches.

The Geekbench result also revealed the phone will run Android 9 Pie out of the box unlike the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 which both run Android 8.1 Oreo with Experience 9.5 on top.

The Snapdragon 710 driven Galaxy A8s smartphone that was launched recently in China comes with the new innovative Infinity-O display that features a hole in the screen for the front-facing camera. Previous leaks have suggested that the Galaxy A10 is an upcoming smartphone from Samsung. A popular Chinese tipster has claimed that it will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Multiple leaks have revealed that the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus that are rumored to go official will be featuring an under-display fingerprint sensor which is more accurate that than the optical in-screen fingerprint reader that are available on the recently released Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, Huawei and Xiaomi phones. Rumors have it the Galaxy A10 could be featuring an optical under-display fingerprint sensor. There is a possibility that the Galaxy A10 may launch ahead of the Galaxy S10 series in Monday.

The specifications of the rumored Galaxy A10 are under the wraps. The only thing that is known about the handset is that it may come equipped with Snapdragon 845 chipset. The higher versions of the Galaxy A9 (2018) and Galaxy A8s handsets have 8 GB of RAM. Hence, there is a possibility that the Galaxy A10 may feature up to 8 GB of RAM. There is a possibility that the South Korean company may launch the Galaxy A10 smartphone by the end of January 2019.

In related news, the Galaxy A8s pre-orders have begun in China with a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (~$434) for its 6 GB RAM edition. The official sales of the smartphone will begin on Dec. 31. I t can be availed in colors like Allen silver, Aurora Black and Elf Blue. The price tag of 8 GB RAM variant of the phone is still a mystery. In January, the smartphone is expected to be made available outside of China.

This year we have seen manufacturers who prefer in-house chipset for some of its phones adopt that of competitors. The Honor 8X Max, for example, comes with a Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660 processor. Also, Samsung’s Galaxy S Light/Lite Luxury Edition and Galaxy A9 (2018) are both powered by the Snapdragon 660. The trend will continue next year, at least for Samsung.

A tweet by Twitter user @MMDDJ_ has revealed that the Korean giant will launch a phone powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor in January. This will make it Samsung’s most powerful mid-range phone and likely, most expensive too. The rest of the specs are still unknown but expect it to have impressive cameras too.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise. Samsung is trying new strategies to take on its rivals in markets like India. These rivals (OPPO, Xiaomi, and Vivo) already have phones powered by this chipset. If Samsung wants to take on them, it will have to adopt the same chipset since none of its mid-range Exynos processors are that powerful.

One of the recent tweets from a reliable tipster from China has hinted that an upcoming Galaxy A series phone may feature Snapdragon 845 chipset.

The South Korean tech giant has been launching flagship phones under Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series since several years. However, the company now seems to be working on a Galaxy A series with flagship specs. The exact name of the phone is not known now. Few hours ago, it was reported that the upcoming Galaxy A9 Pro could be powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset. This indicates that the Snapdragon 845 powered phone may hit the market as Galaxy A10. There is no information available on the specifications of the mysterious SD845 powered Galaxy A phone.

The suspected Galaxy A10 could be a budget-friendly flagship phone that will be could be arriving to take on the recently announced Apple iPhone Xr. It could be equipped with an 18.5:9 Infinity Display design screen and dual rear cameras. The SD845 SoC could be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it may feature 64 GB of native storage.

As far as the quad camera phone arriving on Oct. 11, the tipster claims that it will be the first Galaxy P series phone from Samsung. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the specs of the Galaxy P.
