Samsung Galaxy A13 5G is getting Android 12 update in the US

Samsung Galaxy A13 5G was launched recently as a mid-range offering in the US market. It squares up with the OnePlus Nord N200 5G and the Moto G Stylus 5G. Sources at SamMobile have hinted that the Galaxy A13 is getting the Android 12 update. The Android 12 update is reportedly being pushed to the carrier-locked version of the device for now. It is however probable that the update will also extend to the unlocked model.

There is no mention of the specific carrier-linked model for the Android 12 update. The new update for the budget Galaxy A13 5G is however expected to extend to all carrier versions in the US.

The Galaxy A13 5G is priced at $249.99 and there is the likelihood of another update to Android 13 next year. The availability of multiple Android upgrades for the Galaxy A13 5G is what puts it ahead of its competitors. Android 12 and One UI 4.1 are both on offer for the smartphone which sports a 6.5-inch display.

It is noted that the OnePlus Nord 200 5G also got the Android 12 update a few days before the Galaxy A13 stateside. However, it is highly improbable that the Nord 200 5G will be in line for the Android 13 update in 2023. As for the Moto G Stylus 5G, it is still running on Android 11. It will also most probably only get support for Android 12. The combination of the Android 12 update and the One UI 4.1 bring significant improvements to the Galaxy A13 5G. An array of improvements including in the Gallery menu, Samsung Health, Google Duo, and Smart Things Find, among others are available.

While we already know that Samsung is gearing up to announce the Galaxy A13 5G in the European market, a new report has suggested that the device’s launch is imminent after it was spotted on a Google Play list of supported devices.

Looking at the listing, the smartphone model was found with some of its key specifications, including its display resolution, Android version, SoC, and more. For those unaware, the South Korean tech giant had already launched the Galaxy A13 5G model in other markets a while ago. However, the same handset had yet to make its way to Europe. But now, it seems that the launch is just around the corner after the sighting of the European variant on Google Play.

The Galaxy A13 5G European model carried the SM-A136B model number. Furthermore, it will likely be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a MicroSD card slot. The device sports a 6.5 inch HD+ LCD panel that has a 90Hz refresh rate as well. For photography, the smartphone features a triple camera setup on the rear, which includes a 50MP primary sensor paired with 2 megapixel macro shooter and another 2 megapixel depth lens.

Under the hood, a large 5,000mAh battery pack powers the device, which also supports 15W fast charging as well. Other features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 11 OS out of the box. While Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A13 5G and Galaxy A13 4G globally back in March 2022, the company had yet to release the 5G variant in Europe. But now, it seems that the Galaxy A13 5G model’s launch is just around the corner in the region.

For those unaware, The South Korean tech giant had previously launched the Galaxy A13 5G in March, however, it did not release the 5G model. Now, a new report has suggested that the brand is apparently gearing up to release the 5G variant for the European market soon. The news arrives from GalaxyClub who found an online support page on the official Samsung website in Greece.

In other words, it is highly likely that the company is planning on releasing the device in Europe soon. As of right now, there is still no word regarding an official release date for the smartphone in the market. But, the support page that depicts a device with model number “SM-A136B” hints that the launch is just around the corner. Apart from the model number, no other specifications for the Europe variant of the Galaxy A13 5G were listed on the website.

Although, it is likely to be identical to the globally available version. So, we can expect the smartphone to sport a 6.5 inch PLS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and an HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the handset is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a MicroSD card slot. While Samsung announced the Galaxy A13 4G this week in India, the brand is yet to launch the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G in the region. Earlier this month, we learned that the phone’s production has started in India. Now, 91Mobiles has shared live images of the back and sides of the smartphone.

The live images showcase the back panel of the phone in White color. This will be amongst the other shades of the smartphone. The design looks similar to the Galaxy A13 4G with triple cameras at the back positioned vertically. There’s also a cut-out for the LED flash beside the sensors.

On the left side, we see the SIM-card tray, while on the right, there’s the power button and the volume rocker. The smartphone has a USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. Over a year later, Samsung has now quietly revealed its plans to ship its newly announced Galaxy A13 5G without a charger in the US. The South Korean tech giant has mentioned this at the end of the press release.

The Galaxy A13 5G is a $249.99 smartphone with a modest set of specs. Usually, Samsung bundles a charger and a pair of earphones with phones in this price segment. But for some reason, the firm has opted to include neither of these for the new model

The device will be available for purchase online starting tomorrow (December 3) through AT&T and Samsung.com in the US. If you are about to order the handset, then make sure to buy a charger if you don’t already have one. The company recommends using ‘Samsung-approved chargers and cables’.

Samsung has quietly unveiled the Galaxy A13 5G in the US. The device is currently the most affordable 5G smartphone from the South Korean tech giant in the country. It is the successor to Galaxy A12, which is limited to 4G connectivity.

The newly announced Galaxy A13 5G looks like the Galaxy A32. It measures 164.5 x 76.5 x 8.8mm in dimensions and weighs 195g.

The dewdrop notch (Infinity-V) on the top houses a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Samsung Galaxy A13 5G has been subject to multiple leaks and certifications. Earlier this month, the device passed FCC certification and yesterday, the phone’s high-resolution renders were surfaced. Today, the official user manual of the Galaxy A13 5G has been surfaced confirming its key specifications.

The user manual showcases the smartphone and reaffirms its design. It does match the recently leaked renders as it has the water-drop display at the front and a triple camera system at the rear. It is confirmed to have a 50MP main camera lens and macro sensor. Unfortunately, the resolution and the sensor size of the third lens is unknown.

Furthermore, the manual revealed that the phone will boot on Android 11 out of the box and will run on the OneUI. It will have dual-SIM support and feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.

In addition to this, the older reports suggested that the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core SoC. It will be paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. The smartphone will pack a 5,000mAh battery and is expected to have support for 25W fast charging technology.

The Korean giant is set to announce its cheapest smartphone yet, the Galaxy A13 5G, and ahead of its launch, renders of the phone have provided us with our first look.

The Galaxy A13 5G should launch as the successor to the Galaxy A12 announced in November 2020. The renders, which have been provided by OnLeaks in partnership with Zouton, show Samsung is refreshing the design for the new phone.

As seen in the images, the Galaxy A13 5G has three rear cameras, one fewer than that of the Galaxy A12, stacked on top of each other. Apart from the sensors not being flush with the polycarbonate back of the phone, they are also not housed together. The design is different but gives the phone a clean appearance especially on the black variant.

Up in front, the phone will have a 6.48-inch FHD+ LCD display with a notch for the front-facing camera. It has been reported that the phone will have a Dimensity 700 5G processor and will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB or 128GB of storage.

The configuration of the rear cameras is given as a 50MP f/2.0 primary sensor, a 5MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor.
