According to a recent report, Samsung has started rolling out a September security update for Galaxy A13, Galaxy A21s, and Galaxy M02.

For those unaware, Samsung released this security patch for its major mid-range smartphones last month. However, a few affordable smartphones did not receive the update. It is worth mentioning the patch is currently available to download in selected countries. Those who wish to know about the update and the availability can check the details below.

Update build version and availability

The September security patch arrives on Galaxy A13 with the build version ending in CWI3. It is currently available in Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Tunisia, and Turkey. On the other hand, the Galaxy A21s is receiving the update with the build version ending in DWI1, and it is available to download in Australia, Austria, Cambodia, Caucasus Countries, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Thailand, Netherlands, Philippines, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Lastly, the Galaxy M02 has received the update with the build version ending in BWH1. It is available to download in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Furthermore, the update fixes more than 60 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the update. This patch is majorly focused on the device’s security and stability. It is worth noting that the patch does not bring any new features or UI improvements. If you wish to upgrade the device to the latest version, you can head over to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Samsung has been rolling out the Android 11-based One UI 3.x stable update for the eligible devices since December. Some of the devices have received the update ahead of schedule. Now, the Galaxy A21s is the latest Samsung smartphone to join this list.

According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung has started seeding One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy A21s in South Korea. The latest system update for this handset comes with firmware version A217NKSU5CUC7.

For those, the Galaxy A21s is supposed to receive the Android 11 update in May. However, the South Korean tech giant has begun the rollout almost two months earlier.

Anyway, like any other software update, the new update for the Galaxy A21s is currently being rolled out in batches. Therefore, it may take time to reach every device. Eventually, the update should be available for other regional variants in the coming days.

Users can head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check whether their unit has got the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11.

That said, it is worth noting that though the Galaxy A21s could probably receive only one more Android update, the phone is eligible for four years of security patches, as per Samsung’s revised update policy.

In late October, Canalys published a report on Global Smartphone Market Q3 2020. According to that, Xiaomi beat Apple to become the world’s third-largest smartphone brand for the first time. Now, more than a week later, the research firm has revealed the most-shipped devices in the same period.

As per Canalys, Samsung was the world’s largest smartphone brand in the third quarter of 2020 with a 23% market share by shipping 80.2 million units. Then, came Huawei at the second spot with a 14.9% share and 51.7 million shipments, followed by Xiaomi in the third place with 47.1 million shipments and 13.5% market share.

Lastly, the fourth and fifth positions were captured by Apple and vivo respectively. The American tech giant shipped 43.2 million units with a 12.4% market share, whereas the Chinese smartphone maker gained 9.1% share with 31.8 million units in shipments.

Talking about the most shipped smartphones, five of them were Samsung, three devices were by Xioami, and two from Apple.

The iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2020 acquired the first two positions. Whereas, the Samsung Galaxy A21s, Galaxy A11, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A31, and Galaxy A01 Core captured third, fourth, fifth, eighth, and tenth places respectively.

On the other hand, Xiaomi obtained sixth, seventh, and ninth positions with Redmi Note 9/Redmi 10X 4G, Redmi 9, and Redmi 9A respectively.

Ahead of the Diwali festive season in India, Samsung has slashed the prices of a number of its smartphones. Earlier today, we reported the company to have dropped the price of Galaxy Note10, the predecessor to this year’s Galaxy Not20. In addition to this premium handset, the company has also brought down the prices of Galaxy A21s, Galaxy A31, and Galaxy M11

Samsung launched the Galaxy A21s in India back in June priced at ₹16,499 and ₹18,499  for the 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB storage configurations respectively. Now, five months later, this device has received a price cut of up to ₹2,000. 

The base 4GB + 64GB variant of the Galaxy A21s now costs ₹14,999 (₹1,500 price cut), whereas the higher 6GB + 128GB retails for ₹16,499 (₹2,000 price cut).

On the other hand, the Galaxy A31, which launched a few days ahead of the Galaxy A21s is now selling for ₹20,999. For the unaware, it debuted for ₹21,999 and therefore, this makes it a price drop of ₹1,000. 

Weirdly, the device received a similar price cut in July. Seems like its price was hiked after a certain period of time.

Lastly, the price of the Galaxy M11 has been dropped by ₹500. That means the base 3GB + 32GB variant now costs ₹9,999, whereas the higher 4GB + 64GB model can be purchased for ₹11,499.

This smartphone was also launched in June and just recently received its first price cut in late September.

Samsung Galaxy A21s specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A21s comes with a holographic 3D Glastic polycarbonate body with glossy appeal. It has a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display that offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The Exynos 850 chipset powers the Galaxy A21s with up to 6 GB of RAM. The handset is equipped with up to 128 GB of storage and there is a dedicated slot onboard for additional storage. The Galaxy A21s receives power to perform from a 5,000mAh that can be fueled using a 15W fast charger.

For capturing selfies, the Galaxy A21s possess a 13-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The quad-camera setup residing on the backside of the A21s is equipped with a 48-megapixel main lens with f/2.0 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. The phone comes with a rear-facing fingerprint reader and it carries support for facial recognition.

Samsung could soon launch the Galaxy A21s in India next week. The budget phone is expected to come in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB. The highlight of this handset is the new 8nm Exynos 850 chip that powers it.

The South Korean electronics giant has been releasing a number of sub-₹20,000 ($263) phones in the Indian market for the past few weeks.

Adding to the evergrowing portfolio of budget smartphones, Samsung might launch the Galaxy A21s in the country next week according to an IANS report.

The company will be skipping the base 3GB + 32GB variant and will be bringing the other two storage configurations with 64GB ROM and 4GB/6GB RAM. They are believed to be priced between ₹15,000 ($197) – ₹20,000 ($263).

As mentioned in the beginning, the Galaxy A21s is powered by Exynos 850 chipset, which is the latest budget SoC from Samsung.

The handset sports a 6.5-inch HD+ ( 720 x 1600 pixels) PLS TFT LCD panel with a punch hole for the 13MP selfie camera. On the back, the phone houses a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The device runs One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 and draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy A21S model in Europe today. The phone is yet another lower mid-range offering in the A-series family, offering a very large battery and a capable set of quad-cameras at the back. Conforming to the current trend, the Galaxy A21s also comes with an Infinity-O punch-hole display up front.

The Galaxy A21s brings RAM and camera upgrades as compared to the month-old Samsung Galaxy A21. The phone features a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED display with a 13MP selfie shooter located on the top-left corner. It runs on an octa-core CPU (Exynos 850) clocked at 2.0GHz and you can select from 3GB RAM to up to 6GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB storage options.

The biggest difference between the regular A21 and this A21s is in the camera department. The new model upgrades the primary sensor to 48MP paired with an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP macro shooter, and another 2MP depth shooter. The four cameras are arranged in an L-shaped design. You also get a fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s gets a huge 5000mAh battery with 15W wired charging. As for software, the phone runs on Android 10 based OneUI.

The phone will launch in Europe for €200 ($217) or 179 GBP (UK) and will go on sale from June 19 in three colors: Black, White, and Blue.

The Galaxy A21s is an upcoming mid-range phone from Samsung. The phone has been in the news lately but is yet to officially launch. A new leak has surfaced that includes the specs and official press renders of the device. The leak reveals that Samsung’s new device will also come with a brand new Exynos chipset.

The German tech blog Winfuture.de reports that the Galaxy A21s will come with a new chipset called the Exynos 850. The processor is said to have eight cores and a clockspeed of 2.0GHz but the full spec sheet is unknown. Samsung will pair the chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage.

The Galaxy A21s will pack a 6.5-inch display with a 1600 x 720 resolution. The screen has a punch-hole at the top left corner for the selfie camera. The screen is a PLS TFT panel that is developed by Samsung. It has high brightness and great color rendering while being cheaper than IPS screens.

On the back of the phone is a quad-camera setup that includes a 48MP camera with an f/2.0 sensor and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera. The specs of the other two sensors weren’t mentioned but the selfie camera is a 13MP sensor. The phone will also be able to record in 1080p.

The Galaxy A21s will pack a 5000mAh battery with support for USB Type-C charging. Even with the big battery, the phone comes in at 191 grams and is 8.9 millimeters thick. It will run Android 10 out of the box with One UI on top.

The phone will be available in black, blue, and white and is expected to go on sale by the end of May with a starting price of €199 or €209.

Recent leaks have revealed that Samsung is working on the Galaxy A21s smartphone. The moniker suggests that it is an updated version of the Galaxy A21 phone that was unveiled last month. The handset has today appeared at the database of Bluetooth SIG certification to confirm its moniker and its variants.

As it can be seen below, the model number variants such as SM-A217F, SM-A217M, SM-A217F_DSN, SM-A217F_DS, SM-A217M_DS and SM-A217N are all associated with Galaxy A21s. The Bluetooth SIG certification of Galaxy A21s that the device supports Bluetooth 5.0. The model numbers belong to the country variants of the Galaxy A21s.

Indian tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore had recently leaked the alleged specifications of the Galaxy A21s smartphone. The leak revealed that the Galaxy A21s could be coming with a 6.55-inch IPS LCD panel that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. Probably, it may feature the same punch-hole screen that is available on the Galaxy A21 phone.

The leak did not reveal the name of the processor that fuels the Galaxy A21s. Recently, the Galaxy A21s variant with model number SM-A217F was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking platform with never before heard Exynos 850 chipset. The smartphone is expected to come with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. It may come with a 5,000mAh battery.

For photography, it may house a 13-megapixel front camera and a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup. Other expected features of the phone include Android 10 OS, microSD slot, microUSB, NFC, dual-SIM, fingerprint reader and 3.5mm audio jack.

Samsung is yet to announce a successor to the Galaxy A20. The budget mid-range phone was announced in April 2019. It was then followed with a slight refresh called the Galaxy A20s with a bigger screen and an extra camera. Now specs, alleged to be those of the Galaxy A21s have leaked.

The specs were posted on Twitter by Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) and he adds that they are from a new source, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The Galaxy A21s is said to come with an even slightly bigger screen than the A20s. The display is 6.55-inches in size and will have a resolution of 720 x 1600.

The phone is said to have triple rear cameras that include a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP camera that should be for depth. The selfie camera is a 13MP sensor.

The processor was not revealed but the RAM is 3GB and the storage is 64GB with support for storage expansion. It is also stated that the Galaxy A21s will have a 5000mAh battery capacity, a significant bump from the 4000mAh of its predecessor. However, what is surprising is the Micro-USB port seeing as the Galaxy A20s and Galaxy A20 have USB Type-C ports.

Other features mentioned are NFC, Dual SIM support, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth 5.0. It is also mentioned in the leak that the phone will come in Black, Blue, and White.
