Samsung has refreshed its Galaxy A-series lineup with the launch of the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G. Both phones bring a mix of practical upgrades, focusing on performance, durability, and camera improvements, while keeping things familiar overall.

The Galaxy A57 5G is clearly the more polished of the two. It runs on Samsung’s new Exynos 1680 chip, built on a 4nm process, and is expected to offer better efficiency and smoother day-to-day performance. The more affordable option, the Galaxy A37, follows a similar approach. It uses the Exynos 1480 chip and also gets the new IP68 rating. The display is the same size and brightness as the A57, and camera hardware remains unchanged, though Samsung is relying on better processing here as well.

Design-wise, the A37 doesn’t get the same slimming treatment. It’s a bit heavier and keeps the thicker bezels from before. Both phones run One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging.

iQOO will unveil its top-tier iQOO 15 Ultra in China in the first week of February. 3. Vivo V70 series

The popular Vivo V-series could gain two new members, as the brand reportedly plans to unveil the Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite next month. Both of them will likely be camera-focused, offering two 50MP sensors (primary and telephoto) and an 8MP ultrawide unit.

Now, a new report has revealed the possible camera specifications of both the Galaxy A37 and A57. And there’s not much new to the story. 

According to the report, the Galaxy A37 will feature a Sony IMX906 main camera, an 8MP Samsung GC08A3 ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. The phone will also offer a 12MP camera for selfies and video calls.

As for the Galaxy A57, the model is rumored to come with a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera, a 13MP ISOCELL S5K3L6 ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro shooter. Interestingly, the report mentions that some regions might instead get a 50MP ISOCELL GNJ main camera. Regardless, both sensors share the same 1/1.56-inch size. Selfies are said to be handled by a 12MP ISOCELL S5K3LC sensor.

So, what’s actually changing?

Honestly, not much. The Galaxy A57 has a more or less similar camera setup to last year’s. And while this isn’t necessarily a bad setup, we were hoping Samsung would finally introduce a telephoto lens on its most expensive A-series phone in 2026. Based on this report, though, it doesn’t look like that’s changing anytime soon.

The Galaxy A37, on the other hand, does bring a meaningful ultrawide upgrade, jumping from 8MP to 12MP. The main sensor is also larger, measuring 1/1.96-inch, which should help improve light intake.

Samsung is known for being slow to introduce major hardware upgrades, outside of generational processor changes. The Galaxy S26, for instance, is said to retain the same camera setup Samsung has been using since the Galaxy S23 series.

Anyway, the Galaxy A37 and A57 are expected to launch sometime in January 2026.

Samsung’s usual launch cycle might look a little different heading into early 2026. The company typically announces its Galaxy S-series phones in January or early February, followed by A-series smartphones in March. However, this schedule has been affected due to the internal changes in the Galaxy S lineup. 

As you might know, Samsung was previously expected to introduce an S26 Edge to replace the S26 Plus. But after the S25 Edge underperformed in sales, the company has reportedly scrapped the S26 Edge altogether and brought the S26 Plus back into the roster — just much later in the process. 

This late pivot pushed back R&D timelines, which is why the Galaxy S26 lineup is now rumored to land in late February instead of the usual early-year window.

So while the Galaxy S26 series may arrive later than usual, Samsung seems to be filling the gap by moving its budget and mid-range launches forward. 

Galaxy A07, A37 and A57 all coming early next year

A new leak now suggests that the Galaxy A07 5G could launch later this month or in early January 2026. This would place it earlier than past entry-level Galaxy A0-series releases.

More interestingly, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 ahead of their normal schedule. These two models usually appear around March or April, but this time they are expected as early as February 2026. This change implies that Samsung may be trying to keep its product momentum steady while the flagship timeline adjusts.

The Galaxy A37 and A57 will bring incremental upgrades with new chipsets and the latest software. Both phones will ship with Android 16 out of the box. The Galaxy A57 is said to run on Samsung’s new Exynos 1680 processor, paired with the Xclipse 550 GPU. The Galaxy A37, meanwhile, will feature the Exynos 1480 chipset along with the Xclipse 530 GPU.

But the real eyebrow-raiser is the chipset: the Exynos 1480 paired with the Xclipse 530 GPU. That’s the same processor Samsung used in the Galaxy A55… way back in early 2024. Earlier this year, it also powered the Galaxy M56.

Sure, the Exynos 1480 looks a bit stronger than the A36‘s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 on benchmarks, but efficiency is just as important. Whether that translates into better long-term performance or battery life is something we’ll only know once the A37 hits shelves next year. After all, the Exynos 1480 isn’t much (if any) better based on previous reviews.

Samsung is reportedly prepping the Galaxy A27, A37, and A57 for a spring 2026 launch. The A57 just leaked with Samsung’s newer Exynos 1680, making the A37’s chipset feel a bit out of place. Many expected the A37 to take a step forward with the Exynos 1580, the same chip used in the Galaxy A56.

Then again, Samsung has a long track record of recycling silicon between generations — the A26 and A35 both rely on the aging Exynos 1280 — so the idea isn’t completely unbelievable.

Of course, there’s still a chance this listing isn’t the real deal. Just recently, a “Galaxy A77” benchmark made the rounds before being debunked as fake. So nothing is guaranteed until Samsung speaks up.

If the leak is legit, though, it tells us something about Samsung’s 2026 strategy: keep costs down, even if that means tuning expectations for performance. Whether that helps the A37 stay affordable or leaves it looking outclassed next to the A36 is a question we won’t have answers to until next year’s launch.

Samsung’s next mid-range refresh is already in motion. The company is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026, and as usual, the Galaxy A lineup will follow soon after.

Right on cue, the Galaxy A37 has surfaced on Samsung’s internal test servers. The device appears under the model number SM-A376U, which all but confirms its identity. 

That “U” suffix indicates it’s the US variant, and interestingly, the test builds reference several American carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and UScellular.

The listings don’t reveal any specs yet, but they do suggest that Samsung is gearing up for the A37’s debut. Given that the Galaxy A36 was announced back in March, it wouldn’t be surprising if its successor follows a similar timeline.

Here’s what its predecessor brings

For context, the Galaxy A36 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. 

Samsung managed to shave down the weight and thickness to 195 grams and 7.4mm, while keeping IP67 water and dust resistance intact. Under the hood, it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 paired with One UI 7 based on Android 15.

Samsung also promises six years of software and security updates, which means the A36 (and likely the A37) will be supported well into 2031.

As for the cameras, it has a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro setup on the rear. The front camera is a 12MP sensor.

Powering everything is a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, the Galaxy A37 could arrive as early as March 2026. We can expect small but meaningful refinements once again, and perhaps a few surprises along the way.
