Samsung recently launched its One UI 5.1 user interface, based on Android 13, alongside the Galaxy S23 series. The brand recently released the first OTA update for the Galaxy S23 series. The Korean tech giant is now rolling out the One UI 5.1 update to the Samsung Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 5G devices. However, there’s a catch. The update is currently limited to the South Korean market and other global variants will grab the update soon.

The firmware version of the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A33 5G is A336NKSU3CWB3, while the firmware version for the Galaxy A53 5G is A536NKSU4CWB3. The February 2023 security patch is also included in these updates for the devices. Samsung may, as previously said, issue the One UI 5.1 upgrade for the Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G in other nations in the upcoming weeks. Samsung plans to capture 40% of India’s mid-range smartphone market

The mid-range smartphone category in India is going through a growth phase. This segment in the country covers the phones selling in the range of ₹20,000-₹45,000. Therefore, earlier this week, Samsung announced its plans to conquer almost half of the mid-range smartphone market in the region.

A few days back, Samsung took wraps off five new Galaxy A series models for India. At the launch event in Bengaluru, Aditya Babbar, Senior Director and Marketing Head for Samsung India, revealed to the Deccan Herald (via SamMobile) that the South Korean electronics is hoping to capture 40% of the mid-range smartphone segment (₹20,000-₹45,000) in the country with the help of its new handsets.

According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s market share in India’s mid-range smartphone category stood at 28% in 2021. The company registered a growth of 87% YoY in this segment.

Since India is a price-sensitive market, brands have been pushing various financing options to attract consumers. Samsung introduced its own lending platform dubbed ‘Samsung Finance Plus’ three years ago. It is currently available in over 50,000 stores across India. Babbar disclosed that over 50% of this platform’s users are new to credit as they have never availed loans in their life.

The average selling price of smartphones in India increased in 2021 due to supply issues. At the same time, mid-range phones now offer more as well as diversified features targeting multiple audiences. This has resulted in the growth trajectory for the mid-range smartphone category in the region, and hence, every OEM wants a pie of it.

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A53 5G in China. The latest mid-ranger from the company was initially announced globally last week. The Chinese variant of the handset comes with the exact same set of specs as the version released elsewhere.

The Galaxy A53 5G is up for pre-order in China. It will retail at the following price tags in the country from April 1.

8GB + 128GB – ¥3,399 ($534)

Customers can purchase the phone in either Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, Awesome White, or Awesome Peach color options. Customers who pre-order will get Samsung Online Store credits to buy the Galaxy Buds2 at a discounted price tag of ¥449 ($71) and a coupon for the official silicone case for the handset (limited to 6,000 buyers).

For the asking price, the Galaxy A53 5G offers way less than the competition in China. People can get the Redmi K50 Pro with much better hardware and save some bucks. The Redmi device costs ¥2,999 ($471), ¥3,299 ($518), and ¥3,999 ($628) for 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB memory configurations respectively.

However, there are two features that make the Samsung phone stand out. It is the only mid-range Android smartphone to offer 4 years of guaranteed OS updates and 5 years of security updates. Also, it is one of the few to come with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance in its price segment.

Recent news revealed that the phone may launch in India in a couple of days confirming its India availability. Now, the tipster Ishan Agarwal has shared the variants and color options that will come to the Indian region.

The tipster reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G will debut in two configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The phone will be available in four color variants – White, Black, Blue, and Orange.

In addition to this, the pricing of the phone was tipped yesterday. The Galaxy A53 5G will debut in the country between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000.

Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy A53 5G tomorrow i.e. on March 17 alongside other A-series phones like the A33 and A73 5G. Ahead of the launch, the Galaxy A73 has been subject to multiple leaks and certifications. Similarly, now the phone’s renders have emerged on the Internet.

The leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared the Galaxy A53 5G’s renders. The device has four color variants – Black, White, Orange, and Blue. We get to see the back and front profiles of the phone.

The Galaxy A53 5G hands-on video showcases its ‘Blue Sky’ variant. The video mentions that the device measures 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 189 grams. The bottom edge of the phone has a SIM slot, a USB-C port, a microphone, and a speaker grille. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

The 5nm Exynos 1280 chipset, which is yet to go official, is present under the hood of the Galaxy A53 5G. The device is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of RAM Plus (virtual RAM). The YouTube video shows that the Exynos 1280 powered handset has scored 373,500 points on the AnTuTu benchmarks. The YouTuber claimed that the phone felt cool after 30 minutes of gaming.

Samsung is speculated to launch its much-anticipated mid-range Samsung Galaxy A53 in March of 2022, and as we approach closer to launch, more and more details of the device start to emerge from the shadows. The latest news story is that leaked press materials of the Samsung Galaxy A53 launch seem to have been uploaded online detailing the specs of the device, and it seems that the trend of removing the headphone port has finally reached Samsung’s mid-range lineup of devices.

The leak comes from Twitter leakster, TechInsider, who is also a fellow tech journalist in the industry. In the post, he shared several photos of the press materials that he had obtained regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A53.

Let’s start with the major differences compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A52. For starters, Samsung will be removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy A53, a feature that was available on the Galaxy A52. The audio input/output jack will instead be relocated to the USB-C charging port. This is the first time that Samsung will be releasing a mid-range A-series without a headphone jack, although the headphone jack was already absent on its flagships since the Galaxy Note 10 series. However, unlike Samsung’s latest flagships, the Galaxy A53 still retains the SD card slot, with expandable storage up to 1TB.

The next major change is the battery capacity of the device. The Samsung Galaxy A53 features a large 5000mAh battery, a hefty upgrade over last year’s 4500mAh. However, the device still remains light to hold at 189g with its matte polycarbonate design.

Coming to the processor under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A53 will be coming with an Exynos 1280 processor, with 5G connectivity and better performance over the Snapdragon 720G found on the Galaxy A52.

As for the screen, the Samsung Galaxy A53 will feature a flat 120Hz AMOLED FHD+ display, an upgrade over last year’s 90Hz, with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device will also feature Dolby Atmos speakers for a better multimedia experience.

Coming to the cameras, the Galaxy A53 still retains the quad-camera setup as last year’s A52 with its 64MP OIS main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP macro and depth cameras. On the durability front, the A53 retains the IP67 dust and water resistance rating and receives Gorilla Glass 5 on the front from drop and scratches.

As for the colours, previous leaked renders also confirmed that we will be seeing the device in 3 youthful colours: Blue, Orange, White and Black. The Samsung Galaxy A53 is said to be available in regions such as the U.S. India, Europe and Asia once it officially launches.

We have been hearing about the Galaxy A53 for months. The smartphone may go official at the rumored Galaxy Awesome Unpacked 2022 event sometime later this month. Ahead of that, its price in Europe has emerged.

According to GizPie (via SamMobile), the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A53 will likely debut at €469 in Europe for the 6GB + 128GB memory configuration. This is based on a retailer price listing spotted by the publication, which mentions €466.49, which is an odd price tag.

Even if the phone releases for the listed price, it will be slightly more expensive than the Galaxy A52s 5G. For the unaware, the current-gen model was unveiled at €449 for the same memory variant.

Talking about features, the Galaxy A53 is expected to bring minor upgrades over its predecessor. Its design will be somewhat similar with some tweaks and will be available in an orange color instead of purple, in addition to black, white, and blue.

Most importantly, it will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1200 SoC. The chipset will be paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Further, the handset will flaunt a 6.52-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a centered punch hole. It will house a 64MP (wide) + 12MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (macro) + 5MP (depth) quad-camer setup on the rear.

Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro to sport vivo-like design

We finally got to see the design of the upcoming Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro last week. Unfortunately, the new-gen Redmi K series phones will drop their unique design language in favor of a rear design inspired by vivo. This design was first introduced by the Xiaomi group on Xiaomi CIVI.

Thanks to TENAA, we also know the maximum available memory configuration of Redmi’s flagship smartphone lineup. The Redmi K50, the Redmi K50 Pro, and the Redmi K50 Pro+ will max at 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB respectively.

POCO F4 GT specs leak confirm Redmi K50G rebrand

The key specs of the yet-to-release POCO F4 GT leaked last week. According to them, the device will be indeed a rebadged Redmi K50G, which is also known as Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.

This is not surprising as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition debuted as POCO F4 GT in global markets. Most importantly, the Redmi K50G was already spotted at certification websites as Redmi K50G.

There may not be a Xiaomi 12 Lite but new CIVI series phones instead

Earlier last week, a report revealed that Xiaomi 12 Lite will be a fusion of Xioami CIVI and Xiaomi 12. A day later, another report disclosed that Xiaomi CIVI Pro may launch soon with slightly better specs than the original Xiaomi CIVI. This device was originally supposed to release as Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom.

A few days from that, a Xiaomi exec confirmed that there will be no Xioami 12 Lite in 2022. This means the rumored Xiaomi 12 Lite could release as a Xiaomi CIVI series phone in China alongside the so-called Xiaomi CIVI Pro. But we cannot rule out the possibility of it launching under Xiaomi 12 Lite branding in international markets.

vivo may release a ‘Note’

The long-rumored vivo NEX 5 is now expected to go official as vivo X Note. A leak from last week not only disclosed the phone’s name but also some of its specs.

The device is said to arrive with a 7-inch QHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 50MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KGN1 primary camera, 48MP Sony IMX598 secondary camera, 12MP Sony IMX663 tertiary camera, and 8MP OmniVision OV08A10 quaternary camera with 5x optical zoom lens, 5,000mAh battery, and 80W fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G looks beautiful in Blue & Orange colors

Samsung is guarding up to launch their upcoming mid-range offering dubbed the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. The phone has had many leaks up until now hinting at its specs and design. And now, renders of the smartphone have surfaced yet again showcasing its design and color variants.

The renders of the Galaxy A53 5G have previously leaked in White and Black, but this time around, WinFuture has provided a better look at the rumored Orange and Blue color options.

These new renders are consistent with the previous renders that surfaced online a while back. The phone still appears to have a pretty similar design compared to the Galaxy A52. The only noticeable difference from the current-gen smartphone is the camera island which has a much smoother-looking protrusion from the pack panel this time around.

The colors on the device also look clean with a blue variant being noticeably lighter in tone compared to the light blue of the A52. The orange variant of the smartphone is also light in tone, making it appear more Peach color than the traditional orange.

So far, the upcoming Galaxy A53 5G is said to have a 6.52-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

The device will come equipped with an unreleased Samsung midrange SoC dubbed the Exynos 1200. The SoC will have two high-performance cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The CPU is supported by the Mali G68 GPU for graphics. The device will come in two ram variants, 6GB and 8GB. It is also touted to at least have 128GB of internal storage which can be further expanded by up to 1TB with a microSD card.

The device is said to house a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging support. The rear quad-camera setup will likely have a 64MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP macro, and a 5MP depth sensor.

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S22 series of flagship phones in the coming week. Reports have claimed a couple of new A-series of smartphones such as Galaxy A73, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A53 are likely to go official by the end of this month or in March in multiple markets. Ahead of the expected launch, the Galaxy A53 has now been spotted at NBTC and FCC certification platforms (via).

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G with SM-A536E/DS (dual SIM) model number has been spotted at the NBTC certification site. The SM-A536E/DS and SM-A536E (single SIM) variants have appeared at FCC. The FCC listing reveals that the device may ship with a 25W charger. It also reveals that the device is equipped with connectivity features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and NFC.

The Galaxy A53 5G was spotted at the Bluetooth SIG certification last week. The handset was spotted at China’s TENAA certification last month through which its entire specifications were revealed.
