Last month, Samsung had launched four mid-range phones in India including the Galaxy J8. The other phones such as Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ and Galaxy J6 have been readily made available for buying, but the Galaxy J8 is scheduled to hit the market in the coming month. A conflicting report claims it may release in India on June 20. The smartphone is expected to arrive in multiple markets like Russia and Thailand. Now that the Galaxy J8 that has a model number of SM-J810Y/DS has been certified by National Communications Commission (NCC) in Taiwan, it appears that the handset will be soon heading to Taiwanese market. The NCC certification has also revealed some live images of the Galaxy J8 before its official release.

Samsung India has already confirmed the specifications of the Galaxy J8 smartphone. The handset features 18.5:9 aspect ratio supporting S-AMOLED Infinity Display of 6 inches. It produces an HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels. The live images of the Galaxy J8 confirms that it has a tall aspect ratio supporting screen. The top bezel of the phone features a selfie camera along with its LED flash.

The rear side of the Galaxy J8’s polycarbonate body has a dual camera setup and just below it is the fingerprint scanner. A 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB 2.0 port are available on the bottom edge of the phone. The usual buttons for volume controller, power key and the SIM card slot are located on the edges of the handset. Apart from the device, Samsung will be including an earphone, a USB cable and a charger adapter inside the box package of the Galaxy J8.

The Samsung Galaxy J8 mid-range phone is driven by Snapdragon 450 and 4 GB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of 64 GB and a microSD card slot for more storage. The J8 is preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. It is packed with a 3,000mAh battery.

The handset borrows the 16-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture + 5-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture dual camera setup from the Galaxy A6+. The J8 is equipped with a selfie camera of 24-megapixel. It will be hitting the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 18,990 (~$280) and in color options like black, gold and blue.

Samsung has launched Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones in India today. Like the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ that were launched in the recent past, the A6 duo are also equipped with Infinity Display design. These phones are also packed with various AI features for their cameras.

Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Specifications and Features

The Samsung Galaxy A6 is fitted with a 5.65-inch Super AMOLED display that supports an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and HD+ resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels. The Exynos 7 series chipset that includes 1.6 GHz octa-core processor powers the phone along with 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A6 comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage editions. For additional storage, the phone features a microSD card slot. It has a battery of 3,000mAh capacity.

It has an f/1.7 aperture rear camera of 16-megapixel. At the front lies another 16-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture. These cameras come with dedicated LED flash.

The Galaxy A6+ is a large sibling of the A6 phone as it houses a 6-inch display that supports FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. It produces an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 450 chipset that includes 1.8 GHz octa-core processor powers the Galaxy A6+ along with 4 GB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of 64 GB and it also features a microSD card slot. A 3,500mAh battery powers the Galaxy A6+.

The dual camera setup that resides on the back panel of the Galaxy A6+ includes a f/1.6 aperture 16-megapixel primary sensor and an f/1.9 aperture 5-megapixel secondary sensor. For shooting selfies, it is blessed with an f/1.9 aperture 24-megapixel camera. Like the A6, the A6+ also features dedicated LED flash for the front and rear cameras.

The camera app present on the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ offer features like Live Bokeh and Background Blur Shape. For enhanced selfie snapping experience, the South Korean company has included a variable selfie flash functionality that makes it possible to adjust the light exposure while shooting selfies on both phones.

The Galaxy A6 and A6+ are preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung Experience UI. The “Chat over Video” is a feature available on both phones that let users to use WhatsApp or the default messaging app while viewing videos. These handsets support mobile payments through Samsung Pay Mini. The company has also included Ai camera in the Samsung Mall. The other features of the Galaxy A6 duo include metal unibody design with rear-facing fingerprint reader, 3.5mm audio jack, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.

Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Pricing

The 32 GB and 64 GB Galaxy A6 are respectively priced at Rs. 21,990 and Rs. 22,990.  The Galaxy A6+ can be availed for Rs. 25,990. Purchasing the A6 or A6+ through Paytm Mall or through ICICI credit cards will provide users with a cashback of Rs. 3,000. The South Korean company is also providing one time screen replacement offer for buyers who purchase the Galaxy A6 and A6+ until June 20.

The official sales of the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will begin on May 22 through Samsung India e-store, Paytm Mall and Amazon India. The Galaxy A6 duo will be available in colors like Blue, Black and Gold. Both phones will be also available for purchasing through offline stores.

Samsung is all set to launch its new smartphone — Samsung Galaxy J6 in India tomorrow. However, ahead of the official launch, the pricing of the smartphone have been leaked online. Along with Galaxy J6, the company is also set to launch Galaxy A6+ which was introduced earlier this month.

The retail box of Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6+ have surfaced online, revealing that the Galaxy J6 will cost Rs. 14,990 (MRP) and the Galaxy A6+ will cost Rs. 28,000 (MRP). However, MOP is expected to be cheaper by Rs. 1000 or Rs. 2000 than the MRP. To know the final pricing, we’ll have to wait for the company to make the official announcement tomorrow.

Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy J6 will launch in India on May 21st, making it the first country to get the smartphone. Further, the company has also revealed that the phone will feature an Infinity Display with screen aspect ratio of 18:9.

The smartphone is expected to have 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It will be powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 14nm processor with Mali T830 GPU. The device will be available in two options — 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage.

There’s a microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB. Further, the phone will feature a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper with LED flash. Running on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box with the company’s own custom interface on top, the smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

Along with Galaxy J6, as said, the company will also launch Galaxy A6+ that was introduced earlier this month. It packs 6-inch Full-HD+ display, Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 450 processor along with 3GB / 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB internal storage. One of the highlights of the phone is that it features a 24MP front-facing camera.

Earlier today, Samsung announced the arrival of the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones. However, the press release that confirmed their arrival did not reveal any information on their pricing. Fresh information reveals that Samsung has revealed the pricing of Galaxy A6 and A6+ for Netherlands. Moreover, it has also stated that both the smartphones will be available on pre-orders starting from tomorrow. The A6 and A6+ will be available for buying the end of this month.

The Galaxy A6 carries a price tag of 309 euros (~$371) for Netherlands whereas the larger A6+ is priced at 369 euros (~$443). Customers who pre-order the Galaxy A6 and A6+ between May 2 and May 23 will be provided with a 128 GB Samsung EVO Plus microSD card worth 49.9 euros (~$59) for free. The country will be receiving the Galaxy A6 duo in color options like black, gold and lavender. It seems that the country won’t be receiving the blue variants of A6 and A6+.

Even though both the smartphones come in variants like 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM, Samsung will be making only the 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM edition available in Netherlands.

The South Korean company has already confirmed that the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will be released in specific regions of Europe, Asia and Latin America starting from this month. Both the phones will be also heading to other markets like South Korea, Africa and China later on.
