Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 went on sale just a month ago. However, Samsung has already discounted the Chromebook on its website and Best Buy.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is available at a starting price of $449. This means it gets a $100 discount from the launch price of $549.99. You can look at the discounted prices of both the variants below:

This price is reflecting both on Samsung’s official website and e-commerce retailer Best Buy. We aren’t sure how long the deal would last so we suggest you grab it quickly. Anyway, it is a really good deal and a bit surprising considering it’s just been a month since its release.

Apart from this flat discount, you also get other offers like Trade-in benefits as well. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes in two colors- Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray.

The 2021 edition features a 13.3-inch Full HD QLED touchscreen display. This display has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Under the hood, the Galaxy Chromebook 2 is powered by two versions of CPUs each one for a variant.

The entry-level version is powered by the 10th-Gen Intel Celeron 5205U and the Core i3-10110U chipset is on the higher-priced version as mentioned above.

Other features include 2xUSB Type-C ports, 1×3.5mm audio/mic jack, microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth. Other features include a 45.5WHr battery, Backlit Keyboard, ChromeOS with all the Google Goodies pre-loaded, USI Pen support(Pen sold separately).

Samsung provides two colors for the Galaxy Chromebook2– Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray. You can take a look at the pricing below:

Users can pre-order the Galaxy Chromebook2 on the Samsung US website and Best Buy. It will be available for purchase from March 1. Early birds will get $50 off on pre-orders while users get an additional $30 off till March 15 for the next purchase.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook2 13.3-inch Full HD QLED touchscreen display. This display has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. While this is a downgrade the last year’s 4K display, the 2-in-1 form factor and the design is somewhat similar to the predecessor.

As mentioned above, the Galaxy Chromebook2 is powered by two versions of CPUs each one for a variant. The entry-level version is powered by the 10th-Gen Intel Celeron 5205U and the Core i3-10110U chipset is on the higher-priced version.

The former features 4GB RAM, 64GB storage while the latter has 8GB RAM and 128GB. Let’s not talk about the predecessor much here as the CPU is also a big downgrade on the new model(Quad-core vs Dual-Core). For GPU, there is Intel UHD integrated graphics onboard.

As for connectivity, you get 2xUSB Type-C ports, 1×3.5mm audio/mic jack, microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth. Other features include a 45.5WHr battery, Backlit Keyboard, ChromeOS with all the Google Goodies pre-loaded, USI Pen support*.

Samsung is fast establishing a pattern of making revolutionary releases during CES events in the last couple of years. Last year, the first Chromebook with an AMOLED screen was unveiled, and CES 2021 has seen the tech giant launching the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2, having a QLED display. It is the first laptop to have embraced QLED technology.

The Chromebook 2 has a 13.3″ touchscreen with 1,920×1,080 pixels HDR display. The device supports both finger and pen capability (USI pen). It weighs 1.23kg, marginally heavier than the Chromebook from last year but is still quite portable and is priced from $550, which is about half the cost of its premium predecessor from last year. The base model has an Intel Celeron 5205U, while a 10th gen Intel Core i3 10110U (dual-core CPU with 4 threads and higher clocks) provides a greater speed of operations.

The laptop comes with either 4 or 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR3) and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, with a microSD slot also available. The 45.5 Wh battery can last about 14 hours of continuous use without charging.

The two 5W speakers in the laptop have the Smart AMP feature, which Samsung claims is 178% louder than an average amplifier. The Chromebook 2 has a 720p webcam suitable for video conferencing on all platforms.

The laptop has Wi-Fi 6 (ax 2×2) and Bluetooth v5.0, while two USB-C ports and a headphone/ microphone jack are also available on the sides of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 will come in two color variants: Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray. The first units will be on sale in the US market before the end of the first quarter of this year.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Chromebook earlier this year ahead of CES 2020. The South Korean tech giant is reported to release its successor – Galaxy Chromebook2 very soon. Ahead of its official announcement, the laptop has now leaked in a press render confirming two color variants.

In early December, Evan Blass aka @evleaks revealed that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Chromebook2 in the coming days. More than two weeks later, the leakster has shared a render of this notebook. This picture showcases the upcoming laptop in two colors – Gray and Red.

For those unaware, the original Galaxy Chromebook also comes in these two identical colors. The company calls them Mercury Gray and Fiesta Red respectively. But since Samsung has a habit of changing the color names, the exact name for the new model is a mystery as of now.

That said, according to Evan, the Galaxy Chromebook2 will feature a similar design as its predecessor. But the sides will also have the same color as the entire body, unlike the older model. Further, he hints that it will be coming with a new Intel chip and could even feature a built-in fan, which is missing in the original.

In other words, the forthcoming flagship Google Chrome OS laptop by Samsung will be identical to the original in terms of design but with updated internals. Hence, we can expect it to start at the same $999 price tag.
