Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Chromebook 2 360 today at the BETT 2022 conference in London. Though the latest Chome OS-powered laptop from the company sounds like a convertible variant of Galaxy Chromebook2, it is actually a version of Galaxy Chromebook Go.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 360 Specifications and Features

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 360 by Samsung flaunts a 12.4-inch WQXGA LED-backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, up to 340 nits peak brightness, and support for touch input. The display has a 360° hinge, therefore, it can be used as a tablet and in tent mode.

The laptop is powered by an Intel Celeron N4500 processor with Intel UHD Graphics. The CPU is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB e.MMC storage. The computer runs Chrome OS with support for Android and Linux applications. 

On the connectivity front, the device offers WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and LTE (optional). It comes with multiple ports like 2 x USB Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2 Type-A, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a MicroSD card slot, a nano security slot, and a nano-SIM card slot (optional).

Other features include a spill-resistant keyboard, an 8MP HD (720p) webcam, 2 x 1.5W (3W) stereo speakers, and a 45.5Wh battery with support for 45W charging over USB Type-C.

Last but not least, the computer measures 287.9 x 206.6 x 16.9mm in dimensions and weighs 1.28kg.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 360 Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 360 will be available for purchase in the UK starting from April 15.  It will retail at the following price tags sporting a silver paint job.

• WiFi-only (4GB + 64GB) – RRP £419
• WiFi + LTE (4GB + 128GB) – RRP £499

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is one of the premium Chromebooks you can purchase right now. The Chromebook which was announced at the beginning of the year at CES 2020 is now set for a successor which will arrive as the Galaxy Chromebook2.

The info comes from Evan Blass who posted an image on Voice showing the official name of the Chromebook. At the moment, there are no specs and images of the device but they are expected to surface soon seeing as the successor may also launch at CES.

The first-gen Galaxy Chromebook has a 13.3-inch 4K AMOLED touch display. It is powered by Intel’s 10th Gen Core i5 processor and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. The Chromebook has a 1MP webcam and another 8MP camera that sits above the keyboard so you can snap photos when in tablet mode.

The Galaxy Chromebook also has an S Pen that fits into a slot on the right side. There is also a fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and its keyboard is backlit. It also has two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm microphone and an audio combo jack, and a MicroSD card slot. The Chromebook doesn’t have LTE but it has Wi-Fi 6.

The Chromebook didn’t go on sale until April 2020 and with a starting price of $999. We expect the Galaxy Chromebook2 will come with Intel’s 11th gen processor. We also hope Samsung will announce an LTE version as the original only comes with Wi-Fi connectivity. It will also be nice to see Samsung bring more color options including the strikingly gorgeous Fiesta Red of the first-gen model.

There are not a lot of premium Chromebooks out there that are a perfect blend of specs and design. Seeing as Google didn’t announce a PixelBook 2 last year but gave us the PixelBook Go instead, Samsung has stepped up with the gorgeous Galaxy Chromebook announced today at CES 2020.

Design

The Galaxy Chromebook is the first Chromebook from Samsung to have the Galaxy name. The 2-in-1 comes in two color variants – Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray (not pictured) – and it is easy to see which of the two colorways is the stunner since Samsung has released press renders of only the former.

With an aluminum body designed to endure your daily usage and a 4K UHD AMOLED touchscreen display with 3.9mm thin bezels that will leave you stunned every time, this is the Chromebook to buy if you want a premium ChromeOS computer.

Specifications

The 4K AMOLED display (3840 x 2160) touchscreen measures 13.3-inches in size. It has Intel’s 10th Gen Core i5 processor inside, up to 16GB of RAM (LPDDR3), and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

There is a 1MP camera above the display for video calls and another 8MP camera placed above the keyboard just in case you want to take photos with it when in tablet mode.

The Galaxy Chromebook has a stylus that fits in a slot just beside the USB Type-C port on the left, allowing you to write and draw fluidly on the screen. You can also use it to navigate the system.

You get Google Assistant, stereo speakers (2W x 2), a fingerprint scanner, and a backlit keyboard. There is also WiFi 6 for superfast connectivity. The Galaxy Chromebook has 2 X USB-C ports, a 3.5mm microphone and audio combo jack, and a UFS/MicroSD card slot.

Price and Availability

The Galaxy Chromebook will have a starting price of $999 and will be available later this quarter.
