That publication suggests that this device could go official as Galaxy F12. That means we can expect it to feature similar specs as the upcoming Galaxy M12. Because the Galaxy F41 is literally a Galaxy M31 without the fourth camera sensor.

That said, it is good to have options at every price range. However, the Galaxy M and Galaxy F series may collide with each other as they feature identical design, specs, and price (at least the first model) in the long run. The only difference between the two is their availability.

We hope Samsung will work on to differentiate between these two online-exclusive series so that customers don’t get confused with the launch of new models.

According to a SamMobile report, the South Korean tech giant has sent special T-shirts and boxes to various tech related publications and YouTube content creators in the country. Previously, a device with the model number SM-F415 was spotted, which was found to be a budget handset. The T-shirt sent by the company also carried the slogan ‘Full On,’ which was also tweeter by Samsung’s official Twitter handle.

Reportedly, the new Galaxy F series might be a rebranding/replacement of the Galaxy On series of devices. These could be positioned similar to its Galaxy M series and might arrive at even more affordable prices, with new colors and storage variants as well. The SM-F415 is said to similar to the Galaxy M31 in specs and pricing, but will feature only three cameras on the rear instead of four. The Google Play Console listing revealed that it also features the Exynos 9611 processor and 6GB of RAM.

A few reports have claimed that the Galaxy F series will also be an exclusive lineup, which will only be available in Flipkart, a major local e-commerce based Indian website. This would make sense considering the Samsung Galaxy M series is an Amazon India exclusive in the country. Unfortunately, apart from these rumors we still don’t have much to go on regarding the launch, so stay tuned for more updates that should arrive soon.

However, the company has not talked about the technology which enables making such foldable devices.

Even though Samsung remains silent on the technology, a Korean publication connected the dots using a trail of reports and supply chain analysis, revealing how the South Korean giant managed to make a foldable smartphone.

It seems that Samsung has ditched the all-glass concept and has adopted the high-tech polymers with its trusted and long-term technology partners. Apparently, the South Korean giant has collaborated with the Japenese firm Sumitomo Chemical for producing a “luxurious” to the touch transparent polyimide that can be bent numerous times without any visible differences.

The transparent polyimide layer is attached to a flexible OLED panel directly underneath. It is attached using an extremely durable and flexible adhesive which Samsung has been developing for years. It allows the whole package to bend at the middle. The adhesive will also be able to stretch to a certain extent and will hold onto the package.

This adhesive from Samsung is called Optical Transparent Adhesive or OCA film, which is a special type of elasticized adhesive that can be bent thousands of times and still retain its original size and form. Further, it’s reported that the flexible OLED panel that Samsung is using has about 45 percent thinner polarizer.

As per the report, another Japanese supplier, Nichido Denko, is producing the polarizer film for the bendable display. Interestingly, the OLED display panel used in the Galaxy F smartphone is the same that’s used in the current Galaxy S9 or Note 9 models.

Another important part of the foldable smartphone is the stretchy hinge and the report mentions that the hinge will be sourced locally by Samsung from a company named KH Vatec. Samsung has put in a lot of time and effort with KH Vatec to develop the seemingly elastic and stretching hinge that sits right beneath the foldable display.

The South Korean company had also revealed the flexible Infinity Flex Display that will be made available on the foldable smartphone. Concept Creator has shared a concept video of Samsung’s first foldable smartphone based on its official and leaked information to reveal its marvelous design from all angles.

It is speculated that the Samsung’s first foldable phone would belong to the new Galaxy F series. The concept model of the Galaxy F foldable phone features an inner display and an outer display. The phone is equipped with a hinge so that it can be opened like a book. When folded, the concept model does not appear very thick.

The video begins by showcasing the hinge of the phone. Samsung had claimed at the SDC 2018 event that the Infinity Flex Display can be opened and closed slowly to prevent any damage to the inner display. The South Korean company has confirmed that the outer display of the phone measures 4.58 inches and the inner display measures 7.3 inches. The inner display will be supporting a resolution of 1536 2152 pixels and 4.2:3 aspect ratio. The outer display will support 840 x 960 pixels resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio.

The Galaxy F concept phone features a vertical dual camera setup with a dual-tone LED flash on its rear. The bottom edge of the front display features a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. A selfie camera is present on the top bezel of the outer screen.

One should be aware of the fact that the above video does not show the actual design of the final version of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone. It is a concept model made out of the imagination and rumored information surrounding the smartphone.

Details have surfaced from Korea about a likely release date not only for the phone which has been dubbed the Galaxy F but also the Galaxy S10 series.

According to The Korea Herald, the Galaxy F and the Galaxy S10 series will be launched in March 2019. This will be after their official unveiling at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The launch of the Galaxy S series isn’t unusual since that is more or less the period they get unveiled but since Samsung already said the Galaxy F would launch before the second half of the year, the March release date isn’t out of place.

Samsung also revealed to the press that it plans to make at least a million units of the phone at first and see how the reception is before making more. However, it won’t be cheap. Unconfirmed sources have said it will be priced at about $1800 which would make it one of Samsung’s most expensive phones.

Samsung’s foldable phone has gotten mixed reception since it demoed at the event. While some see it as the beginning of a new era, others think there is no need for it. Time will surely tell.

If you haven’t then, it seems you’re not a fanboy anymore. In the latest development, Samsung has posted a new profile picture on Samsung Mobile’s twitter handle with a folding effect on ‘S’ letter and flipping the ‘Samsung’ text from midway. So, it means the Korean giant is directly teasing its upcoming foldable smartphone.

Samsung is in news from past several years regarding its foldable device but this time it seems like Samsung will actually launch the Foldable smartphone very soon. We have been listening about the Youm display, flexible batteries and many other things regarding Samsung Foldable device for past several years. Now, it is quite interesting that finally, Samsung is coming with the foldable device.

The Foldable device is expected to be showcased at the Samsung’s Developer Conference this month in San Francisco. If the latest rumors are to be believed, then it would mark debut by early next year.

Additionally, Samsung’s Foldable smartphone will be called by the name of Galaxy F bearing model number of SM-F900U. As per the report, it is said that the new device is being tested on a firmware build F900USQU0ARJ5. Even though the Korean giant has partnered with Google to make a customized and more curated version of Android UI, especially for its foldable device.

It is expected to be made available globally, even in the European and Asian markets as the model numbers SM-F900F and SM-F900N have been leaked recently. These two devices are aimed at different markets around the globe.

Additionally, Samsung Foldable smartphone will comprise an OLED screen with 3000 mAh battery. It will fold to make a 4.6 inch OLED screen can be used as a regular smartphone, though you can even use it as a tablet by unfolding it to form a 7.29-inch display.

It’s hardware specifications are not out, but we have managed to know about Intel chip usage along with a 512 GB internal storage. But, it can’t be confirmed as of now, as Samsung has put a tight hold on its hardware related leaks. Also, it will be much thicker than the usual smartphones, and its battery consumption will also be higher due to its extra large display.

The South Korean company’s first foldable phone is expected to get showcased behind closed doors for select audience including investors. Fresh information coming from South Korea reveals that the company may call it Galaxy F. The letter F could refer to foldable.

It is speculated that SM-F900U is the model number of the Samsung Galaxy F foldable smartphone. The company is reportedly testing the smartphone in the U.S. with software build F900USQU0ARJ5. Variants such as SM-F900F and SM-F900N could belong to the European and Asian regions of the Galaxy F foldable phone. This indicates that the smartphone will be made available in the global markets.

The smartphone is tipped to feature a primary display of 7.3 inches and a secondary screen of 4.6 inches. When folded, the larger display that remains in the inside with become inactive. However, its contents could be visible on the secondary smaller screen on the outside. This shows that the Galaxy F foldable phone could be used a tablet as well as a smartphone.

To prevent any possibilities of damage caused due to folding mechanism, the Galaxy F’s hinge is equipped with a gear that allows the phone to fold slowly. Also, there will be some amount of space between the two halves of the inner display to avoid any direct impact.

The South Korean manufacturer will reportedly produce 1 million units of the smartphone in the first year. Its mass production is expected to start by this month. As of this writing, there is no information available on its specifications. Rumors have it that the Galaxy F may carry an inbuilt storage of 512 GB.

There is no concrete evidence available on the launch of the Galaxy F smartphone. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S10 series at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February 2019. The Galaxy F may get unveiled after the launch Galaxy S10 phones.

According to the Korea Herald, Samsung has dismissed the statement that it will announce its foldable smartphone in November. Rather, more details of the phone will be announced at the Samsung Developer Conference holding in November.

We will have more to say about the phone under development by that time, probably some details about specifications,

Samsung’s CEO had said back in February that they had overcome a major tech hurdle with respect to the foldable phone. He also said back in August during the Galaxy Note9‘s launch that they won’t give up on being the world’s first.

The foldable phone is said to go by the codename “Winner” and is expected to sport an in-folding flexible display without a hinge. The prototype should be made this year and the device should then debut at CES 2019 or MWC 2019.

Since the phone is not launching in November, the race is still on to see which manufacturer first launches a foldable phone with a flexible display.

Samsung has been working on its foldable smartphone for quite some time and according to the reports, the South Korean giant will unveil the smartphone early next year. Till now, it was believed that the upcoming Samsung foldable smartphone will be called Galaxy X but that might not be the case.

A tweet from Chinese tipster suggests that the phone could be the part of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy F series. The Samsung’s Galaxy F series is said to be “super” high-end, which fits the price range for the upcoming foldable smartphone. According to the previous reports, the Samsung’s foldable smartphone will be priced somewhere between $1500 and $2000.

The foldable smartphone from Samsung is said to be the most premium mobile phone from the company, above the Galaxy S-series and Galaxy Note series, which justifies the super high-end tag for the Galaxy F-series. But since there’s no evidence, take this information with a pinch of salt.

Also, there are reports that the company is also working on Galaxy R and Galaxy P series for the Chinese market and there’s a possibility that the Galaxy F is an extension of that and could be a China-exclusive smartphone lineup. The Galaxy R and Galaxy P series are for the low-range and mid-range offerings in China from the South Korean firm.

Samsung is currently gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone — Galaxy Note 9, which is scheduled to get announced on 9th August in New York. The phone’s specs, feature, and pricing information have already been leaked online.

Read More: Following the steps of Razer, Xiaomi, and Asus, Samsung could soon launch a gaming smartphone

While the Galaxy Note 9 launch is yet to take place, reports about the company’s next year’s flagship smartphone — Galaxy S10 are already surfacing. Recently, it was reported that the phone will have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded under the display. It is expected to get launched at MWC 2019.
