So the rumors were true. Samsung has officially increased the prices of several Galaxy A and Galaxy F series smartphones in India. The new pricing is in effect starting today, January 5. 

According to a post shared by well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav, Samsung has revised the prices of the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy F17 across all storage variants. The hikes aren’t uniform, but they are consistent within each model. 

The Galaxy A56 now costs ₹2,000 more across the board, the Galaxy A36 sees a ₹1,500 increase on all variants, and the Galaxy F17 gets a ₹1,000 bump regardless of configuration.

Here’s the complete breakdown

Starting with the Galaxy A56, the top-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model has moved from ₹44,999 to ₹46,999. The 8GB/256GB variant now costs ₹43,999, up from ₹41,999, while the base 8GB/128GB version has gone from ₹38,999 to ₹40,999. 

The Galaxy A36 also isn’t spared. Its 12GB/256GB variant now retails at ₹38,499 instead of ₹36,999. The 8GB/256GB version is priced at ₹35,499, up from ₹33,999, while the 8GB/128GB model has climbed to ₹32,499 from ₹30,999. 

Samsung’s budget-oriented Galaxy F17 5G has also seen a hike, though a smaller one. The 4GB/128GB variant now costs ₹15,499, the 6GB/128GB version is priced at ₹16,999, and the top 8GB/128GB model has moved to ₹18,499.

For now, there’s no confirmation on whether Samsung’s flagship devices — including the Galaxy S25 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 — will see similar changes. 

That said, the new Galaxy devices launching in 2026 are expected to have a price hike as component costs rise across the industry.

Samsung seems to be lining up a fresh wave of budget-friendly 5G smartphones for the Indian market, and the Galaxy F17 5G is among one of them. A new leak suggests that the phone’s pricing is already locked in, which usually means the official launch is just around the corner.

According to well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Galaxy F17 5G will arrive in two storage variants. The entry-level version with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is tipped to cost ₹14,999, while the higher 6GB RAM model with the same storage is expected at ₹15,999. What’s not clear yet is whether these figures include promotional discounts or bank offers that Samsung often bundles with new releases.

Galaxy F17 5G Specifications

On the hardware side, the F17 5G is rumored to be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1330 chipset, which is designed for affordable 5G phones. The device is also expected to ship with One UI 7 based on Android 15 out of the box. And since its predecessor comes with a six-year update promise, the F17 5G will likely continue the streak.

The phone has also made its run on Geekbench with 8GB RAM, though the latest leak suggests the focus may be on the 4GB and 6GB models in India.

As usual, the F17 5G will be eerily similar to other Samsung devices. According to report, it could simply be a rebranded Galaxy A17 5G, given that the two have shown up with nearly identical specs on the Google Play Console. 

As a result, we can expect the phone to have a 90Hz AMOLED screen, 50MP triple camera setup and a 5000mAh battery. 

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M17 5G — another sibling in Samsung’s budget lineup — is also expected to make its debut soon, but the F-series model could reach stores first.

Samsung is getting ready to expand its budget 5G lineup, and two new phones are almost here. The Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17 5G have now shown up on Geekbench, pointing to an imminent debut.

The listings, spotted by tipster Mohammed Khatri, confirm that both devices are rebranded versions of the Galaxy A17 5G. They run on Samsung’s Exynos 1330, a 5nm octa-core chip paired with 8GB RAM in the test units.

What’s interesting is the difference in scores. The F17 5G managed 975 points single-core and 2,242 multi-core, while the M17 5G came in lower at 762 and 1,596. That gap likely comes down to testing variations — the retail models should perform about the same. The chipset is the same one used in the Galaxy A16 5G, although that model also shipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 in some regions.

Hardware-wise, don’t expect surprises. The F17 and M17 are expected to carry over the A17 5G’s setup: a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 50MP main camera, and 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. Samsung usually tweaks the back panel design between its budget models, so that’s where you’ll likely see the differences. Both will ship with Android 15 and One UI 7 out of the box, with up to six years of updates promised.

The Galaxy M16 and F16 went on sale in India back in March after the Galaxy A16 debuted in late October 2024. The Galaxy A17 followed in August this year, so the M17 and F17 could also arrive a few weeks earlier than their predecessors.
