Now, it seems that the South Korean tech giant will be launching Fan Editions for other Galaxy flagships as well.</p>

<p>According to an <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-launch-more-fan-edition-flagship-galaxy-smartphones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>XDADevelopers</em> </a>report, Samsung is considering to drop the Lite variants altogether and offer Fan Edition. These variants will offer flagship grade smartphones at relatively affordable prices, which is where the Lite variants were positioned. In other words, existing flagships series like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-note-20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy Note 20</a> Fan Edition might be launched sometime in the near future.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/24/8848-dragon-limited-edition-luxury-phone-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">8848 M6 Private Customized Dragon Limited Edition Luxury Smartphone launches for a whopping $4400</a></strong></h6>
<p>In its recent <a href="https://youtu.be/QtlBpXiDAUo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy Unpacked event</a>, the company confirmed this news where Clare Hunter, Global Strategy at Samsung Electronics said that &#8220;As a tribute to our Galaxy fans, we’re setting a new standard of making uncompromising flagship innovations accessible to as many people as possible. And we’ll continue to launch Fan Editions of our flagship devices in the years to come.”</p>
<figure id="attachment_147866" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-147866" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-147866 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition.jpg?x23692" alt="Samsung" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-1024x683.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-147866" class="wp-caption-text">Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition</figcaption></figure>
<p>A wider implication of this statement is that Fan Editions will be a lot more common and will follow flagship launches every year from 2020 onwards. These iterations would better cater to a larger audience with their pricing. At the moment, the Galaxy Note 20 is the company&#8217;s current flagship, so we can expect an FE edition to arrive in the months that lead up to the next flagship launch, with top notch specs like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm-snapdragon-865/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 865</a> SoC or an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/exynos-990/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Exynos 990</a> chipset.</p>

It is unclear whether the device will be called Galaxy S20 Fan Edition or Galaxy Fan Edition. However, it seems certain that it will not be called Galaxy S20 Lite. Last week, reliable tipster <em>Ishan Agarwal </em>had shared key details of the smartphone. Earlier this week, a South Korean publication shared some vital information on its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/20/galaxy-s20-fan-edition-fe-is-reported-to-retail-for-750-with-triple-camera-setup/">camera configurations and pricing</a>. A new report on Dutch publication <em><a href="https://www.galaxyclub.nl/nieuws/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-krijgt-zelfde-accucapaciteit-als-de-galaxy-s20-komt-naar-europa-in-vrolijke-kleuren/">GalaxyClub.nl</a> </em>claims that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has a 4,500mAh battery.</p>
<p>The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will have a 4G edition (SM-G780) and a 5G model (SM-G781). According to the publication, the model number of the S20 FE’s battery is EB-BG781ABY. Its rated capacity is 4,370mAh. The battery of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-plus">Galaxy S20 Plus</a> also has the same rated capacity. Hence, it can be said the typical value of Galaxy S20 FE’s battery is 4,500mAh.</p>
<p>The publication has further stated that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be arriving in colors like red, white, green, and orange. A South Korean publication had recently reported that the device could be priced around $750 in the home market. This pricing is $100 more than that of the predecessor <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s10-lite">Galaxy S10 Lite</a> smartphone. The company is expected to ship 5 million units of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/16/galaxy-s20-fe-lite-is-reported-to-feature-120hz-refresh-rate-display-ip68-certification/">by end of this year.</a></p>
