<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>might be planning on launching brand new line of devices that diversify its wearable category outside of its Galaxy Watch series. The company is apparently working on an AR based Galaxy Glasses and even a Galaxy Ring that can track your health.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="652" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-1024x652.webp?x44794" alt="Samsung" class="wp-image-518982" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-1024x652.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-300x191.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-768x489.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-696x443.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-1068x680.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019-659x420.webp 659w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-ar-glasses-patent-2019.webp 1413w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The South Korean tech has filed for two new trademark applications. These trademarks were filed for a Galaxy Ring and a pair of Galaxy Glasses. The upcoming glasses gadget could be similar to the rumored Apple AR/VR headset, meaning, it could also feature either mixed reality or extended reality headset, which was teased during the Galaxy Unpacked event at the beginning of this month.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the company has also been granted the Galaxy Ring trademark by KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) on February 23. The Galaxy Ring classifications decribes the products as a &#8220;smart device for measuring health indicators and/or sleep in the form of [a] ring.” Unfortunately, the KIPRIS application didn&#8217;t reveal any other finer details regarding this upcoming device apart from its name. Although, based on the description, we can assume that the Ring will simply monitor wearer&#8217;s health and physical activities similar to a smartwatch.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="540" height="395" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Screenshot_20230227_144139_Chrome-540x395-1.webp?x44794" alt="Samsung" class="wp-image-518983" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Screenshot_20230227_144139_Chrome-540x395-1.webp 540w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Screenshot_20230227_144139_Chrome-540x395-1-300x219.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Screenshot_20230227_144139_Chrome-540x395-1-80x60.webp 80w" sizes="(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the other hand, Samsung has officially unveiled that it is working on the XR (extended reality) headset at the Unpacked event at February 1. The brand is partnering with Google and Qualcomm to build this headset, and now, the KIPRIS filing does hint that the upcoming gadget&#8217;s name could be called &#8220;Galaxy Glasses.&#8221;</p>

In 2014, it had trademarked the “Gear Blink” moniker in South Korea. At that time, it was speculated to debut as a smart contact lens that could be paired with a smartphone. The company has recently trademarked a new logo that seems to belong to its rumored smart glasses.</p>
<p>The logo likes a tilted human eye and it has an interesting description “computerized vision-assisted eyewear consisting of a camera / computer / display for capturing / processing / display an image,” and “computer hardware for analyzing and configuring vision-assisted eyewear.”  This seems to be a hint that the arrival of the Samsung Gear Blink could be drawing near. However, since the trademark filing is unnamed, it is difficult to deduce what this product be.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173643" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Samsung-Logo-for-Probabl-Gear-Blink-Eyeglasses.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Logo for Probabl Gear Blink Eyeglasses" width="376" height="383" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Samsung-Logo-for-Probabl-Gear-Blink-Eyeglasses.jpg 376w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Samsung-Logo-for-Probabl-Gear-Blink-Eyeglasses-295x300.jpg 295w" sizes="(max-width: 376px) 100vw, 376px" /></p>

<p>There is a possibility that the above logo may not be related to smart glasses. It may belong to an upcoming product from Samsung’s health equipment business. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo is drawing near. One of the major highlights of the event is the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. There is no information on whether it will be showcasing the rumored smart glasses at MWC 2018.</p>
