Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy M17 as its latest budget smartphone model. It brings decent specs despite its affordable price tag, including an AMOLED display, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) camera, and more. So let’s check it out.

The South Korean tech giant’s latest budget phone sports a tall 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, up to 1100 nits of peak brightness, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. This screen also has a waterdrop notch for the 13MP selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the rear packs a 50MP main camera with OIS support along with a 5MP ultra wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.

Under the hood, it is equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 1330 SoC, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can even expand the storage by up to 2TB via a microSD card slot. A sizeable 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 25W wired fast charging. Out of the box, the Galaxy M17 runs on the Android 15 OS based One UI 7 custom skin. Other notable features include a hybrid Dual SIM, a side mounted fingerprint scanner for security, a slim 7.5mm body, and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance.

Samsung just announced the Galaxy M17 is available in two color options, namely Moonlight Silver and Saphhire Black. It is available for purchase in three storage configurations, with the base 4GB + 128GB model starting from Rs 12,499. The 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB options cost Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499, respectively. As a part of its launch offer, the brand is offering a Rs 500 bank cashback and no cost EMI options as well. The South Korean tech giant’s latest Galaxy M smartphone is aimed squarely at the mid range market. The new Galaxy M17 features a slim body that measures just 7.5mm with an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. Meanwhile, the front also gets Corning’s premium Gorilla Glass Victus panel for protection. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy M17 5G in the Indian market on 10th October 2025.

The Samsung mid range phone will feature a 50MP primary camera on the rear with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for blur free pictures and shake free videos. This sensor is paired with a 5MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy M17 will house a 13MP shooter. The front also sports a tall 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that likely offers FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

While finer details are still at large, the Galaxy M17 5G was recently spotted on the GeekBench platform with the Exynos 1330 SoC and 8GB of RAM. This will also be the first Galaxy M series model that brings native AI support with tools like Circle to Search and Gemini Live. It will be arriving in India in two color options, namely Moonlight Silver and Sapphire Black, via Amazon India, Samsung’s official website, and offline stores.

Samsung is getting ready to expand its budget 5G lineup, and two new phones are almost here. The Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17 5G have now shown up on Geekbench, pointing to an imminent debut.

The listings, spotted by tipster Mohammed Khatri, confirm that both devices are rebranded versions of the Galaxy A17 5G. They run on Samsung’s Exynos 1330, a 5nm octa-core chip paired with 8GB RAM in the test units.

What’s interesting is the difference in scores. The F17 5G managed 975 points single-core and 2,242 multi-core, while the M17 5G came in lower at 762 and 1,596. That gap likely comes down to testing variations — the retail models should perform about the same. The chipset is the same one used in the Galaxy A16 5G, although that model also shipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 in some regions.

Hardware-wise, don’t expect surprises. The F17 and M17 are expected to carry over the A17 5G’s setup: a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 50MP main camera, and 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. Samsung usually tweaks the back panel design between its budget models, so that’s where you’ll likely see the differences. Both will ship with Android 15 and One UI 7 out of the box, with up to six years of updates promised.

The Galaxy M16 and F16 went on sale in India back in March after the Galaxy A16 debuted in late October 2024. The Galaxy A17 followed in August this year, so the M17 and F17 could also arrive a few weeks earlier than their predecessors.
