It has thicker slider bars and improved widgets, as noted by SamMobile. Other features include picture-in-picture mode, redesigned Device Care section, and more.

The update has also added the improved versions of all stock applications. This includes Bixby, Bixby Routines, Messages, Phone, Gallery, and others. One of the most notable features, which will compete head-to-head with iOS, also comes on board with the new update on the Galaxy M21. We are talking about the camera and mic indicators, where if an app is using your microphone or camera you will see an indication.

Samsung Galaxy M21 users should have received the OTA update notification. If not, you can update your device manually by going over to Settings > Software update.

Today, Amazon has revealed its key highlights. Additionally, its moniker is also confirmed – Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition, and it will hit the markets on July 21 at 12 PM IST.

According to a fresh listing of Amazon India, the Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition a.k.a. the Galaxy M21 Prime Edition will pack a mammoth 6,000mAh battery. The phone is also touted to feature an FHD+ sAMOLED screen and a 48MP primary camera.

Moreover, Amazon India’s landing page reveals the design of the smartphone. The Galaxy M21 2021 Edition will have a rear design with a textured back panel. It will have a rear-facing fingerprint scanner at the upper half of the rear, and the main camera island will be divided into two parts.

Corroborating the listing with previous leaks, the phone will feature triple rear cameras. It will be led by a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. While the landing page does not reveal anything about its chipset, we’ve got leaks revealing Exynos 9611 processor inside the phone. It is said to come in a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and is expected to go on sale in the Amazon Prime Day Sale (July 26).

A fresh leak reveals that the company is working on a new variant of the same phone called the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition. The M21’s model number is SM-M215F, whereas the upcoming phone has an SM-M215G model number. The SM-M215G handset was previously seen with the Galaxy M21 Prime Edition moniker at the Google Play Console. A fresh leak by 91mobiles has revealed the specifications of the smartphone. However, the report claims that the device will be called the Galaxy M21 2021 edition.

The publication revealed that the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition will have the same specs as the existing Galaxy M21. The only noticeable difference is that the 2021 model will be loaded with the latest One UI 3.1 flavored Android 11 OS.

Since the phone is said to arrive with the same specs, it is likely to end up as the Galaxy M21 Prime Edition. To recollect, the South Korean company launched the Galaxy M31 Prime Edition, which came with the same specs as the existing M31. However, the Prime Edition came with Amazon ecosystem apps and complimentary Prime membership of 3 months. The same perks can be expected from the Galaxy M21 Prime Edition.

Samsung Galaxy M21 (Prime) 2021 Edition specifications

In terms of specs, it may come with a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED HD+ display, a 20-megapixel front camera, and a triple camera system that has a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 5-megapixel depth assist lens.
Our device got the update that has a firmware version M315FXXU2ATJ9 and weighs ~984MB. However, unlike Sammobile says, our unit got the October 1, 2020 Security Patch, and not November. Besides, as the report says, the update is currently rolling out in India but we don’t know the ETA for other regions yet.

That said, just like the M21, the update for Galaxy M31 also brings a few improvements to Messages, Keyboard, and Camera. First off is the Samsung Keyboard. The new update brings several features like input-language Search Function, split keyboard on Landscape Mode. You can check the changelog of the update here or in the images below.

From the screenshots, we can note that the Samsung Keyboard brings several features like input-language Search Function, split keyboard on Landscape Mode. Further, the Messages section now gets an SOS message feature. It allows users to share SOS-location every 30 minutes for a day. Additionally, the update also has Camera improvements and stability. But we aren’t sure if that will impact performance just yet.

Samsung unveiled the One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 with Galaxy Note 20 series.
That said, the new One UI 2.5 update for Galaxy M21 is a surprising move considering its higher-priced siblings like Galaxy M51 themselves launched with One UI Core 2.1. And are yet to get the next version. Earlier, the company rolled out the One UI 2.1 update last month with features like Single Take, Night Hyperlapse, My Filters, and more.

Anyway, the official changelog says the update started seeding out on November 3(yesterday). Hence, it might take a few days to reach everyone via an OTA update. Meanwhile, you can check if your device has got it by visiting the System Update section in Settings.

The Galaxy M20s had arrived in India with a pricing of Rs. 10,990 (~$149) for its 3 GB RAM variant and Rs. 12,990 (~$175) for its 4 GB RAM edition. The Galaxy M21 is likely to arrive with a similar pricing and it will be positioned under the recently announced Galaxy M31 which is selling in India with a starting price of Rs. 14,999 (~$202).

The world’s number one phone company is expected to announce some new mid-range phones soon and one of them is the Galaxy M21.

The phone already received its Bluetooth certification and was also spotted on Geekbench recently. Now, more details have surfaced about its specs; and according to 91Mobiles, the M21 will have the same specs as last year’s Galaxy M30s.

The Indian tech blog says their source is Ishan Agarwal, the teenage leaker. Ishan revealed to them that the upcoming Galaxy M21 will share similar specifications to the Galaxy M30s. These specs include its Exynos 9611 processor, 6000mAh battery capacity, and 48MP triple rear cameras.

The Galaxy M30s was announced six months ago. We are not sure how Samsung wants to convince folks to buy the Galaxy M21 since it is practically just a renamed Galaxy M30s. The only thing we can think of is if the M21 is available in different configurations from the M30s. The M30s comes in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. Samsung may decide to launch the M21 with 4GB of RAM + 32GB of storage and also add a 3GB RAM + 32GB version.

The Galaxy M21 will run Android 10 out of the box with One UI 2.0 on top. There is no info on a release date yet.

Ishan also revealed that Samsung is working on two new Galaxy M -series phones called the Galaxy M01 and Galaxy M01s. These two phones should be entry-level devices like the Galaxy A01.

The Galaxy M21 has just received its Bluetooth certification and we won’t put it past Samsung to announce both phones together.

The Bluetooth certificate states the Galaxy M21’s model number is SM-M215F_DS. The “DS” at the end shows this is the dual SIM variant that has been certified.

Just last week, the Galaxy M21 was seen on Geekbench with an Exynos 9611 processor and 4GB of RAM. The benchmark result also showed the device running Android 10.

There are reports the phone will have 24MP + 5MP dual rear cameras and come in 64GB and 128GB variants but they are unconfirmed. Its predecessor, the Galaxy M20 launched with a 5000mAh battery, so that should remain unchanged.

Samsung announced the Galaxy M20 in February last year, so we expect the Galaxy M21 will be announced this February. It should launch in Europe, India, The Philippines, and Indonesia.

Some of the basic specifications include a dual-camera setup, complete with a 24-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. This is a vast improvement over the Galaxy M20’s dual-camera setup featuring a 13-megapixel lens along with a 5-megapixel sensor.

A fresh report on Sammobile has claimed that the company has also started developing the Galaxy M21. As the moniker suggests, the phone will be arriving as the successor for the Galaxy M20 / Galaxy M20s smartphones that were unveiled earlier this year.

According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy M21 has a model number of SM-M215F. The handset is expected to come in storage editions such as 64 GB and 128 GB. Since he Galaxy M20 comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options, it appears that the one of the major improvements on the Galaxy M21 is that it will be arriving with a larger internal storage space. It will come preloaded with Android 10 OS. The phone could be fueled by Exynos 9609 or Exynos 9611 chipset. Also, the smartphone is expected to flaunt with triple rear cameras.

The report further claims that the upcoming Galaxy M-series phones such as Galaxy M11, Galaxy M21 and Galaxy M31 will be available in common colors such as black and blue. However, each of these devices will be available in different third color. The Galaxy M11 is expected to come in a third color of violet whereas the Galaxy M21 and M31 may come in respectively additional colors like green and red.

A report from yesterday had revealed Samsung is also working on Galaxy M51 smartphone. The handset has a model number of SM-M515F. There is no information available on the specs or color variants of the Galaxy M51. There is no word on the Galaxy M41 that may replace the Galaxy M40 smartphone from this year. The M40 had featured a punch-hole display. It is likely some of the other M-lineup phones arriving in 2020 will be also equipped with punch-hole screen.

The Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones were made official in January in India. Hence, it appears that the new Galaxy M-series smartphones may break cover in the first quarter of the coming year. Hopefully, more details on the new Galaxy M-series will appear in the beginning of the coming year.
