Samsung launched the Galaxy M55 and Galax F55 earlier this year. Looks like the company is prepping another device in that same vein. The phone in question is the Galaxy M55s that just showed up in leaked renders revealing a bit of a unique design from its siblings.

Like most Samsung mid-range phones, the M55s’ back panel is likely made of plastic. But it gets a unique textural treatment. There are at least three distinct textures visible on the renders, and that is very different from the matte finishes of the M55 and F55. 

While the design is a clear differentiator, the leaked specifications paint a more familiar picture. The M55s are expected to mirror the existing M55 and F55 in terms of core hardware. 

It is said to come with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple rear camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. 

For selfies, there will be a 50MP front-facing camera. Memory option is said to include 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (with likely microSD expansion capabilities) while the device will be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging support.

This isn’t the first time that the Galaxy M55s has made headlines. Back in July, it received Wi-Fi Alliance certification. Last month, a Geekbench listing seemingly confirmed a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset under the hood. Now, we have also got a look at its design. 

However, it’s unclear when the company is planning to launch the smartphone. We will keep you updated on the matter.

Samsung has started One UI testing of the Galaxy M55s, suggesting that the new device will be unveiled soon. The Galaxy M55s model seen on Samsung’s OTA servers will have similar specs to its predecessor, the Galaxy M55 5G. Gizmochina spotted that Samsung has started One UI testing of the M55s.

Galaxy M55s is coming, get ready

The Galaxy M55s has passed the One UI software test 4 times so far. The build number of the software detected by Gizmochina is M558BXXU0AXG7/M558BODM0AXG7/M558BXXU0AXG7. The device was detected 4 times in the One UI test, indicating that the Galaxy M55S is still under development.

Galaxy M55s Leaked Specifications

The technical specifications of the Galaxy M55s started to come to light last week. The smartphone with the model number “SM-M558B” scored 1,003 points in Geekbench’s single-core tests and 2,309 points in multi-core tests. This reveals that the upcoming phone will be a price-performance product.

According to the listing on Geekbench, the Galaxy M55s will be powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 similar to the Galaxy M55. It’s also expected to come out of the box with 8GB of RAM and Android 14 based One UI 6.1 operating system.

Unfortunately, there is no further information about the other features of the Galaxy M55s, but it’s expected to have similar features to its predecessor, the Galaxy M55. So let’s take a look at the Galaxy M55’s features to get an idea:

The Galaxy M55 comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED+ display offering FHD+ resolution. The smartphone has a 120 Hz refresh rate a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and an in-screen fingerprint reader sensor. Also, The device is equipped with an IP67 certification that is resistant to water and dust.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. At the same time, the smartphone is backed by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The Galaxy M55 was launched with Android 14-based One UI 6.1. Unfortunately, there is no information about the launch date and availability of the Galaxy M55s. We are all waiting with curiosity.
